"melchior aged 6 months calvaldos barrels, containing 10 year cognac and 8 year calvados. ale brewed with mustard seed and aged in oak barrels "
a food beer to the absolute sense. golden and very murky with with no head at all outside of intentional pour. nose of herbal and hop pine apple. although the sugar is not overpowering. the palate has the zest of a saison as of meatiness. citrus and mustard funk blend well and have a finish of a core, but mild, warm sour. something like a wheatwine. very simple but food hunger inducing. chalk dry, apple cider, vinegar maybe in the notes, very subtle sweet belgian cane sugar. very subtle pineapple candy. abv not at all noticeable outside of a warmth in the gut.

Served in a tulip
A: This beer pours a hazy light amber color with a one finger of white sudsy head. Head recedes at a moderate pace and leaves minor spots of lacing.
S: Nose is tart apple and funk.
T: Taste has a massive alcohol burst at the forefront. WOO. Cognac is massively present on this bad boy. It actually holds through and begins to compliment the flavors the further you get through this beer. Apple and a hint of molasses comes through to present a bit of sweetness. A bit of pine and citrus make a presence in the finish.
M: Medium body, medium carbonation, nice slick feel with a dry finish to it.
D: Goes down extremely easily despite the massive alcohol burst in the forefront, big kick, decent representation of style. I highly enjoyed this beer and would absolutely get it again.
