Botteled apr. 2005, BB 2 years after filldate. Nice presentation with lasting yellow head and a black beercollor. Nose is lots of kruidnagel that gives a blackcurrant arome to the brew, dark candy, good carramellic maltyness and a overal fresh but spicy carracter. Taste is also lots of kruidnagel, sweetish and full maltbodied, moderate bittered and quiet good overall taste. Full and complex mouthfeel with fitting carbonisation. Easy drinkable and certainly something else, well worth a try.

Pours clear, reddish-brown in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is oak, vinegar, sour mix, and must. Sour, bitter, high carbonation with medium-light body. Nice, dry, and sour. Decent slightly above average strong ale. I prefer others from this brewery, but this is worth a try if you like the style.

11.2 oz. bottle poured into snifter
L: gusher! foam rises out of the bottle quickly, and it takes a super slow pour to get it in the glass ... loads of foam, 4 inches or more; no major sticking or lacing, but it keeps a 90% skin and thick collar of beige foam (not surprisingly); a foam-lover's dream but is tricky when you pour it
S: super sweet fingernail polish ... it's sour as can be, vinous for sure, but it's also got some plums, grapes, sour grapes pushing through ... red wine
T: super bitter and shockingly sweet ... chalky, like licking a limestone ... the bitter bite up front is almost all dirt; alcohol is present in taste, a slight medicinal flavor but also that vodka clean heat flavor; some fingernail polish, a note separate from the alcohol flavor; as it warms, the fingernail polish comes out front, the bitterness subsides, and there's hints (just hints) of some classic Belgian strong dark fruit flavors ... prunes, dates, some of those tasty dark-malt sweeteners; fig, licorice at times
F: full ... the carbonation explodes and turns the swallow into a crisp foam that fills your mouth ... feels like an abbey ale -- not heavy or thick but *big*
O: this is good. it also is my second bottle, and either the first bottle was somehow off or five months of aging has done the second bottle a ton of good, because this second bottle is infinitely sweeter -- infinite because the first bottle tasted like a dirt soda with NO sweetness; very interesting brew with a wild mix of farmhouse/sour notes and subtle abbey ale notes; the nose is more saison, the flavor has some abbey ale
I might try another bottle of this, but I will definitely age it at least half a year.

From XXXII. In Teku glass. After dinner. Minigeyser. Remarkable acid in nose. Less acid in taste. Tastes a bit amateurish. Lots of sediments. Went to the sink

look, smell, taste, feel, all ok, but don't ruin my stuff by spilling 2/3's of your content.

L: Pours deep brilliant chestnut with a persistent, clingy 1” fluffy cream colored foam collar
S: Brown sugar, sweet dark bread, banana.
T: Dark dried fruit, rich dark bread, hints of lemon curd, banana, prune.
F: Very creamy, medium body, above average carbonation.
O: I have had three of these – one was an undrinkable foamer, one had yeast particles floating throughout and unsavory phenolic tastes, and the third was drinkable.
