Poured into 4oz taster @ The Island Beer Fest (IDK whether this is a Spring or Winter seasonal, but I didn't see it in the fridge mid-March 2012 @ Canoe)

A: Dark and creamy, almost totally opaque, with a nice, creamy head. Dissipated quick into messy, frothy lacing.

S: Dry chocolate, espresso, burnt nuts (hazelnut mostly) and smoky malt. Sort of like a nice dessert coffee but with beer. Possibly the best part.

T: A little underwhelming and, although espresso was definitely present, it just didn't have that dry stout smooth flavour. Almost like a coffee-ish English Brown. Smoky, dry chocolate, with a little malt on the finish.

M: Creamy and smooth, like a typical porter. Not quite stout-smooth, but I'll let it slide. Long on the tongue.

O: Meh. This style is pretty formulaic IMHO, so there's no excuse for not nailing the taste. I was a little torn, though, since the scent and mouthfeel were spot-on; the taste was, somehow, just missing something.
