A silky-smooth, reddish-brown porter epitomized by a balance of full bodied flavor & subtle hop undertones. A mild roasted flavor lingers on the palate, giving this beer a well-rounded finish.

On-tap at Fire Creek in Flagstaff. Cool spot and a tasty beer. Paired with a latte. This beer is definitely better than its average score. I’m drinking it slightly cold but it’s just a darn good porter, with all the roasted malt, chocolate, mild bitterness, and hint of hops that you want from this style.

This is the definition of "meh." It looks, smells, and tastes like a porter, but just not one to write home about. I don't really see why a beer like this needs to exist. It's not bad, but what's the point when there's so much better stuff out there already.

Minimally drinking porter, with little taste. On nitro, at the source. Black yes but little taste and somewhat light mouthfeel for a porter. Poor execution.

Lots of a caramel sweetness without the hops to back it up. The beer looks and smells like a porter (aroma was very weak). But the taste was a little too much on the caramel sweetness for me without the roasted flavors present.

Roast malt, mostly nutty, with a cocoa aroma, and light fruitiness. Flavor is roast dominant, with nice dark chocolate notes, and a fairly bitter coffee finish. Pretty clean, though coffee grounds are a bit heavy in the finish.

Poured into a snifter.
Very dark brown, a little thin-looking. Some drinking thins the color out to a clearer bark-brown. The head is light tan, thin and fizzy, popping away quickly.
Intriguing blend of aromas. In this order: light roast coffee, oats, some pork, milk chocolate, earth.
Same thing going on in the flavor. Chocolate and lightly roasted coffee meld, along with some sweet oats and a touch of dark fruits. Bitter dark chocolate lingers after the swallow.
Thick, creamy body with peppery carbonation. Holds together well without a touch of alcohol.
A solid porter. Good flavor, nice feel.

A - poured with a small head of light tan foam on a dark brown body with amber highlights. The head series slowly and leaves moderate lace.
S - smoky caramel and chicory with some brown sugar.
T - dark sugar up front with some dry, roasted malt character in the middle. Finishes with molasses, licorice, and moderate bitterness.
M - medium thick body, moderate carbonation, and a dry finish.
D - a very nicely done porter, it manages to be dark and thick without ever becoming something that would be confused for a stout.

I had this on tap at the brew pub in Flagstaff, AZ. It was a deep reddish-brown color - almost purple, so that was unique. It didn't have much of a head and was highly carbonated. It had an interesting and strong sweet aroma, somewhat like coffee but more like a mocha, so a mix of strong espresso and chocolate.
Complex flavor to the taste also - hops are hidden but present, behind the major taste of chocolate/coffee malts.

Medium amber color. Small head. Aroma is roasted malts and a touch of chocolate. A medium bodied porter. Malts are roasted and chocolately. Hops are spicy. Maybe just a touch thin for a porter. . Well balanced. Very drinkable. Fruity finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is dry. Aftertaste slightly sweet.
