Serving Type: Pop top bottle 1pt .9fl oz
Appearance: Pours a cloudy orange colour w/ a lovely 2 finger head. Head dissipated very quickly w/ no lacing.
Smell: The sweet smell of pears and a dash of orange. Some bready malts mixed in makes for a nice smell
Taste/Mouthfeel: Smooth and creamy w/ just the right tasting medium body helps this beer go down great. A dash of fruit w/ the bready malt comes through and a touch of bitterness(lemon?)comes at the end to balance it out.
Drinkability: A very tasty Hefe w/ only 4.7% alcohol makes this very quaffable. I will be picking up another of these brews as well check out more beers from this particular brewery.

I'm kind of confused here. I gotta say, the gold standard, for better or worse, for Hefeweissen for me is Franziskaner. My bottle, purchased at an area Whole Foods, wasn't as cloudy as I'm used to for a German Hefe.
Also, while there was a little bit of clove spice, the initial taste was pretty dry & tart; a little bit of lingering pear sweetness. Mouthfeel was rather astringent.
Not terrible, but a little dry for my liking & I wouldn't get it again if I were hankering for a Hefe; was surprised to see it with such a high Alstrom rating.

A: Pours a pale straw colour. The Carbonation was apparent from the moment I heard the satisfying "pop" upon opening this brew. Two fingers of prickly, white head. Quickly dissipated, leaving just little polka dots of lacing. Inviting, in a cloudy sort of way!
S: Citrus and cider right away, then a very pungent yeasty aroma. Cloves, and possibly a hint of coriander. Did not smell banana as some other reviewers did.
T: Wow. There's the very distinct plantain taste. It hits just after cloves, and the brew finishes with a lemony bite. Very refreshing, and complex. Spice does overshadow the grains a bit. The yeast comes through, as well. A bit wild.
M: A fairly light body, as can be expected of the style. Perhaps a touch too watery, at least for my taste. For what it is, this works well enough. The carbonation is prickly, as I expected, but not obtrusive. Nice.
O: A very easy beer to drink, if you're a fan of the style. Narrowly avoids falling into the trap of over-spicing, as many hefes do. The complexity was a real treat, though. The fruity tastes and aromas were great. Would like a beer with better head-retention, though. There were no signs of foam before my glass was half-empty (and I'm no sipper!). I prefer this hef to Weihenstephaner's, which may be some sort of sin around these parts. Just not a fan of beer that gets the majority of it's flavor from the spices, I suppose. Pretty damn good overall. Would buy again for sure

Served in a bottle at Bistro B in Kernersville, NC
A: Pours a lightly hazy pale to medium golden yellow in color with some light to moderate amounts of carbonation and some orange highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy white head that slowly reduces to a thick film covering the majority of the surface of the beer with a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Light to moderate aromas of wheat with some light notes of light fruit (apple and pear). After that, there is a moderate amounts of banana and clove with just a hint of lemon.
T: Moderate to strong flavors of banana and clove upfront with some lighter notes of lemon, wheat, and light fruits (apple and pear), Maybe just a touch of coriander spice as the beer warms.
M: On the lighter side of medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation.
O: This is an easy drinking beer with some nice aspects, especially the aroma - refreshing and low in alcohol.

Very nice light golden, cloudy of yeast, just what you expect of of a good Hefeweizen. Three fingers of hits bubbly head, recedes fast and leaves no lacing.
The smell is light and fruity. Lemon, orange, tart.
The Tate is a fruity beginning, with orange and citrus. The middle brings wheat and yeast for balance. The end is a nice tart and a little kick of hops.
Very good mouthfeel, very refreshing and drinkable.
Great beer!

Clear straw colored brew with everlasting white head. Aroma of acidic sweetness, apple skins, slight wheat malt but none of the usual esters are present. Watered down flavors of floral notes, apple skins, grassiness, citrus, wheat, and a little sour. As it warms the vanilla and clove notes present themselves. Light in body with light carbonation. A bit cloying in mouthfeel.

Initial pour was very clear and very disappointing. I thought I'd swirled it enough to stir up the yeast, but I didn't. Gave it another try and was rewarded with the cloudy gold I'd been looking for. The head was thick and bright white, with nice retention.
Smells like all hefes should. Some lemon mixed in with some cloves and some banana all living with the expected tangy wheat scent.
Taste follows the lead set by the smell. Slight citric overtones mixed in with the tangy, crisp wheat. Has a breadiness to it, almost cracker-like. A bit of lemon dancing with the cloves in the finish. Almost no hop presence. As it warms, there is a contrasting sourness that makes all the other flavors really stand out.
Very smooth, a bit of sweetness. Definitely appropriate levels of spice. Slight tart acidity mixes well with the acid from the lemon, and all the acid is tempered well by the slightly sweet, gently tart wheat. Medium body. Crisp, tangy, clean finish.
One of the best hefes out there and while I'm not overly enthused about a lot of German beers, this is one I could drink every night. It could use more alcohol, but it's very drinkable and overall, one of the best of the type.

Pours light to medium gold with explosive, tiny carbonation that fills the top of a Franzakaner Weissen glass. Unfortunately the creamy white head is short lived.
Fresh aromas with some ripe banana, though less than expected. Yeast aroma is quite present, followed by light lemon and apricot notes.
Banana is more prevalent in the flavor, quite similar to banana chips. Accompaniment is lemon spiciness with a slight fruity finish.
Light body with vigorous carbonation and no alcohol.
An easy and refreshing session beer, perfect for a hot spring day.

The beer poured a cloudy, but bright yellow/orange that produced a nice white head that evaporated in a matter of seconds into nothing, not even a thin cap. Given the carbonation levels of most Hefeweizens, I would have expected the head to hold up better than it did.
The aroma of the beer was better than expected, full of wheat with a hint of sweetness and citrus.
The taste of the beer is just about as good as it gets. I certainly think that it rivals some of the best of the style. Wheat with some citrus hop. Very good!
The beer had a lighter body/feel to it. The beer was very easy to drink, very refreshing and extremely smooth. Overall, a very fine beer, as noted above I was disappointed with the head of the beer, but I am going to give this one another chance.

Pours out a cloudy pale yellow color with a three finger head. White a fluffy it settles down to about a finger and retains that look.
The aroma is full of pale malts and wheat malts. The aroma is a little sweet yet light. Fresh malt combined with mild citrus flavors.
The taste is authentic as the aroma. Citrus, sweet pale malts, and a leafy hop.
Finishes a little slick, but not tasteless. Fishiness quenching and mildly sweet. Wonderful with a light body.

A: Brassy-orange coloring shows a light protein haze with an explosive effervesce. Off white head, bready, quickly dimishes leaving a clean window dressing.
S: The nose is dry wheat with dry oranges that was fairly simple in execution and refrained strength wise. Simple, balanced, but nothing that will make your mouth water in anticipation. At the end of the day an ordinary show which I expected more from.
T: The flavor was spicy, dry and crisp, with a yeastiness of bananas and cloves. Lemony grain finish that was slightly tart, but well balanced. Flashes of dry oranges, wheat with a spicy bite of hops (tastes like goldings) at knockout.
M: dead on per style, tight, crisp and bubbly feel with a good fluid motion when swirled.
O: Overall a decent drinking, laid back hefe, but nothing that will knock you out flavor wise. A more quiet, subtle and enjoyable drink for the casual occasion. Worthy a try.

Bottle from an LCBO gift pack. Pours a cloudy yellow colour with thin white head with minimal lacing. Really big lemon citrus smell, mild wheat malt. Some banana as well. Flavour has a little bit of tartness to it. Medium bodied carbonation. Just an ok hefeweizen.
