Cask at Volo. This one off was a surprising effort for them, very coffee with chocolate. Some off notes, a little astringent. Average mouthfeel. Very dark brown coloured body with but a whisp of head. Drinkable, but not very drinkable.Roast aromas. The cask reveals the flaws.

Cask from beer engine at Volo. Poured into a tulip.
Appeared a slightly offblack, almost a real dark cola, but relatively opaque from what I can tell. Typical cask head, soapy and bubbly and not a lot of retention or lace. Nose has some dark chocolate and a bit of coffee. Taste has some milk and dark chocolate, some cold coffee flavours (if that could be harnessed at room temperature somehow...), raisin and other nebulous dark fruits. Finishes with the coffee and dark fruits. Mouth is a bit thin and somewhat watery in my opinion (server indicated this was an imperial stout). Smooth drinkability, and low carbonation. No alcohol detectable. Decent enough.

Wellington one-off coffee stout on cask at Volo
Pours almost jet black, soapy off white ring of head, no lacing. Smells of coffee and bittersweet chocolate big time, roasted malt, slight vanilla towards the end. Taste is chocolaty, coffee, big roasted malt, nice bittersweet finish and quite satisfying. Thin to medium mouthfeel, very light carbonation, but was quite nice, very smooth and at points creamy. Very solid brew from wellington reminds me of their RIS in some ways, very nice on cask. They should keep this around.
