Its a neat place located right off the train tracks. They have free food if you go after work, usally pizza or chips and salsa. The servers are great, they make sure you have a full cup. It is easy to get in, not a long wait. In the summer the tables outside are nice. The beer usally very good, not great. It is a all around soild place.

Beer is average. But their food is definitely above average for a brewpub. Great place for a date night that the woman can also enjoy. Just as many beer nerds in there as there are families out for dinner. If you're looking for an overall good night with good food and decent beer, I highly recommend Flossmoor.

My wife, her friend, and I ventured to Flossmoor Station in late summer 2012 for our first experience. The location is a unique train station style restaurant/brewpub/bar that is massive. I’m assuming they can seat 250+ people at full capacity. We went on a Monday afternoon so it was slower but the service was great. I tried a couple beers there and took one home with me to try. There certainly was a wide and long list of beers to choose from. The food was just as good as the beer, so I will be returning again in the near future!

The bar area is fairly standard. The "regulars" are friendly and willing to chat up new people. The bartender was friendly as well and was willing to make some recommendations. Their beer selection was all Flossmoor Stations (as expected), but I was pretty pleased with what I tried. I tried a couple of their Belgian brews and their Mead barrel aged 15th anniversary triple.

I've had dinner in their restaurant a couple of times. Their food is better than your standard pub food, but nothing shockingly amazing.

Overall, I think they are very well rounded as both a brewery and a restaurant. They're a good place to go if you want a couple local (south Chicago) beers and a decent dinner. In terms of beer quality, though, you might be better off going a couple miles east and heading to Three Floyds.

My girlfriend and I stopped at Three Floyds so I thought we might as well go the extra 10-15 miles and stop at the home of Wooden Hell!

The first thing I noticed about this place was actually just the area that it was in. Very suburban, quaint little town that just makes you feel at home. The brewery is actually a train station and there's a train continually running behind it. The place was absolutely gorgeous with a warm, friendly vibe.

Quality was really top notch. The beer was representative of all the awards they'd won and the establishment itself just seemed like a very well put together and run place.

Service was good but we just sat at the bar for a couple of drinks so not much else to say here.

Selection was average for a brewpub. They had about 15 of their own offerings with 2-3 guest taps. A bump in the score is deserved though since their brewpub offerings are outstanding.

Flossmoor was a bit more expensive than some of the other places we visited but the town that it was in made me think that you were paying a bit more for the location which was justified.

Worth going to if only to see the neighborhood that its located in. Flossmoor station is a real treat though and a great place to sit down for a pint or two.

We went on a Monday for a slightly early lunch. They weren't terribly busy, but it filled up pretty quickly. The place seemed nice and the staff seemed friendly. Building and location is interesting.

We ordered two entrees, which were very good. We each had two beers, which were quite tasty. They had no problem giving us samples. I think they had about 16 beers on tap of a pretty wide range of styles. Quality was definitely above what I would consider "standard" for brewpubs.

Overall, I was very happy with our lunch and our visit, and I would definitely go back, even though it was a bit out of our way.

Nestled in a former train station (and next to an operating Metra line), Flossmoor is a great place to grab a beer and decent food. The Pale Ale, the Pullman Brown, and the Gandy Dancer are all high quality brews and the food is pretty good as well.

One of the nice things about this place is that the main beers really do not change often and they always seem to be available. Some of the other brewpubs that I like to frequent have a tendency for some beers to be unavailable because they ran out, but I have yet to run into this at Flossmoor.

And, if you drink too much, it's right on the Metra line...

(Visited 02/2011): Made the nearly two hour drive from the northwest suburbs of Chicago to visit Flossmoor. The brewpub is located on Sterling right next to some train tracks and sits up a short hill of a circle. Parking is fairly abundant on the streets in all directions.

The inside stays with the train theme and offers a view of the brewing equipment right at the entrance. The bar is straight back and there is table seating through the rest of the space. Available beers are posted in the bar area.

As for the beers they have around 12 on tap and they are available in a sampler. Bottled Flossmoor brews are located in a small cooler to go as well, and I assume they can be consumed on premise too.

Service on a moderately busy weekday evening was good. The server had a good grasp of the beers on tap and was attentive throughout my meal.

Flossmoor's food menu is fairly eclectic and they appear to do different "theme" foods. Typical appetizers, soups and sandwiches are augmented with gigantic burritos, fajitas, perch dinners etc. My food was enjoyable.

Overall I am happy to have made the trip here and would visit again if given the chance.

This is a nice place to have a few beers and some food. The atmosphere here is nice. The bartenders and wait staff are friendly. They have very good beer here. All of their house beers are always on tap. They do a good job of making sure they don't run out of beer unless its a special small batch release. The food here is okay. I actually like the appetizer menu better than the regular food menu. This is a good sized place and I've never had to wait for a seat here. They have reasonable prices as well.

As everyone else has mentioned, FS is essentially the train station for the suburban town of Flossmoor. The brewpub itself is divided into two main areas: a bar and a seating area. Since I was dining with my wife and kid, we sat in the seating area, and I can tell you, you could visit this place, sit in the seating area, and no even know you're in a brewpub. It just feels like your average restaurant which gives FS a bit of a corporate feel to it.
I was surprised to see the number of beers on tap. I was expecting maybe a half dozen, but there were at least 12 if not more. Plus the beers ran the spectrum from easy drinking lagers to hoppier pales and even a fairly ballsy sour apple beer. That said, neither my beer list nor my waitress could accurately represent all of the beers available and I'd recommend that anyone visit go check out the chalk board in the bar as that seemed to be the only place where all of the beers are actually listed.
Waitress was decent. She knew her beers and knew the menu. Handled our table appropriately. She didn't wow me, but she did her job efficiently and effectively.
Food was nothing too exciting, mostly consisting of fairly generic American cuisine. I had a sandwich while the wife had a salad. Both were decent, but really don't deserve much more praise beyond that.
Overall, I just felt like FS has a bit more of a corporate feel than I care for in my drinking establishments. Between the average food and the slightly better than average beers, I thought FS was okay, but wouldn't warrant another visit.

Kid Friendly (Kid menu available) for those of you who care about such things.
