In my Christmas BIF box together with Pullman Brown. Really made my day when I saw it, even better when I drank it!
22oz into snifter.
Rather unlike other Baltic Porters I've had in that it is quite mild in flavor. Not that it is lacking in flavor, but what is there is blended together smoothly and without an overpowering note in it's body. Rather unlike it's namesake, at least that's what nostalgia tells me.
Cocoa or malt balls. Hard to tell, a bit of roast but a good deal of 'off' in there which I attributed to molasses, dark dark molasses. I don't see anything about that on the bottle though.
It's dark brown, but light pierces the edges to give it nice depth. The head is all cocoa.
Good bit of molasses in the flavor but the mouthfeel has none of that sticky sweetness. There is no cloying here. It is crisp, clean at the end and delicious. A good bit of banter between the chocolate, molasses, malt and plum. Real plum not truly 'candied' but the sweetness already present benefit from this brisk melding.
Please send more. This was delicious, a perfectly weighted bottle that could be split nicely (this one was) into two glasses or easily enjoyed by one person over a comfortable hour.

Bottle shared at GRG1313’s tasting.
Pours a clear super dark brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt and cocoa aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa and wood flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of woody bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that smells slightly better than it tastes in my opinion.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown/black color porter with a medium size dark brown foamy had with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of chocolate with light raisins notes and some residual sugar. Taste is dominated by some residual sugar with some chocolate notes and some dry raisins. Body is quite full with good carbonation and light warming alcohol notes. Overall taste is quite intense and this ends up being a real sipper which I think could be addressed by bring additional attenuation to increase the drinkability factor.

22oz bomber poured into a tulip glass. The head is about a finger and a half high, deep tan in color, and creamy/smooth, though it recedes quickly to only a dusting over top and a light ring around the glass. Barely any lacing and the color of the beer is a deep and dark brown, much like a cola without the visible carbonation.
The aroma is strong with bittersweet roasted malts and chocolate, cocoa powder and Whoppers, almost like a malted milkshake, coffee, molasses, burnt brown sugar, a peat quality, dark fruits like fits or dates, with light notes of char, soy sauce, cola hints (in a good way), and traces of vanilla or cream.
Tastes of Whoppers, cocoa powder, dark roasted malts, bittersweet chocolate, light coffee, toffee, molasses and dark fruits from the nose, burnt brown sugar, light char, peat, soy, and cola hints, very light notes of caramel, vanilla, and cream.
Creamy carbonation and consistency, with a medium body, and a nice smooth finish that isn't drawn out at all.
Quite an intricate nose and a wonderful taste put this baltic porter very nice in my book. Wonderful and more than I was expecting from this beer. Big thanks to funhog for this bottle, it had been a want for some time.

A - pours a dark black color with a taupe, 2 finger head sitting on top
S - nose is chocolates, cocoa, and coffee
T - taste starts off with chocolate malts that fade to a really dry cocoa flavor. Ends with dark chocolates and some more coffee. Not uber complex, but what is there is rich and full of flavor.
M - really dry from the cocoa and coffee flavors
D - pretty solid baltic porter. Definitely more bold than the typical porter, confirming its baltic style. This is a winner from this brewery, I would recommend it!

650 ml bottle courtesy of BarrytheBear. Thanks again for the generous box Barry!
A- Pours a very dark brown with an inch thick tan head. Very nice lacing on the glass.
S: Loads of cacao on this one. Maybe some molasses and hits of dark fruit as well.
T: Seems to have a very thin mouthfeel for a Baltic Porter, but still very good. Loads of cacao on the initial taste, followed by some molasses, and dark fruit notes. The finish is of bitter roasted malts.
O: Overall I'm glad I was finally able to try an offering from
Flossmoor Station. Not quiet what I was expecting from this beer, but it was still very good nonetheless. Thanks again Barry!

Pours dark brown with one finger of head that settles fairly quickly to a thin cap. Moderate amount of sticky lacing is left down the glass during consumption.
Aroma of dark malts that give off a smell of chocolate and coffee. A hint of dark fruits and grassy hops.
Nice combination of sweet and bitter. The dark malt gives flavors of chocolate and coffee with a touch of roasted bitterness in the finish. Hops add some grass and woodsy notes. No sign of alcohol.
The body is not as robust as I would like. Just a bit thin. Carbonation is good.
An enjoyable Baltic Porter. Not as good as I was expected, but still well crafted.

Type: 22oz. Bomber
Glass: Ommegang Tulip
Vintage: 2011
Got this bottle as literally a "killer" extra in a trade w/ pittsburghkid.
Pours a velvety midnight black in color w/ a 1 finger tan head that heavily laces the glass. Aromas of chocolate, molasses, burnt sugar, and peat. The taste was not overly complex, but yet simple and very smooth. Started w/ chocolate sweetness up front, transitioning to molasses and peat, and finishing w/ a solid hop bite. Medium bodied and lush w/ appropriate carbonation. Drank the bomber myself w/o a problem.
Overall, just an excellent Baltic Porter brewed by an excellent brewery.
