Tap@Bear Reublic Brewpub. Well, for a malt liquor its very decent. Lots of alcohol in the nose and palate, but balanced by a good amount of hops, a hoppy malt liquor. Funny they decided to make a malt liquor, even though it really doesn't taste like a malt liquor. Fairly OK.

The pour an unclouded golden amber color with a medium sized head that is spumous in texture and the color a bright white and the resultant lace a velum like curtain to conceal the glass. Nose has strong malt sweetness, light hop floral tone, crisp, clean and fresh to the senses with the start rich in malt, sweet and the top moderate in feel. Finish has a prickly acidity and the hops purposeful in their bite, very dry and lingering aftertaste, quite a good beer, and Bear Republic a long time favorite brewery.

Medium gold color. Small head. Aroma is malty and sweet. A medium bodied malt liquor. Malts are slightly sweet, with a noticeable touch of corn sugar. Hops (Yes HOPS!) are grapefruity and slightly juicy. Nicely balanced. No alcohol bite. Very smooth taste. A nice malt liquor. Way to go Bear Republic! Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
