Growler from the brewery.
Pours a hazy light gold, decent head at first, though not much after. Tiny bit of lacing. Growler pour...
The aroma is quite nice, acidic and tart, with a funky, citrusy character, like a mellow Gueuze. Almost sour, but not quite.
The flavor is not nearly as acidic as the aroma would indicate. More refreshing and tart, with an earthy, rindy character in the back. Wheaty hay flavors give way to a clean, crisp finish. The mouthfeel is light, could use a bit more carb, though I won't judge it too harshly since it's a growler pour.
Good stuff here, much better than I expected. A fresh quencher with a nice little kick.

Thanks to beerloco for sending this my way somewhat unexpectedly. Served in a Bell's tulip.
A - Quick-dissolving white foam that sizzles to nothing, nada, zilch. Hazy semi-transparent apricot body.
S - Smells like a Berliner alright. Sharp wheat, lactic acidity, slight sulfur, some lemon and stone fruits, and a hint of alcohol that was slightly unexpected but betrayed the higher ABV.
T - Taste is unfortunately not as pleasant. Seems too sweet for the style, with a hefty dose of malted wheat, stone fruits, and a yeast finish. Not very sour either - drinks more like tripel in some ways. Not unpleasant, but not very true to style.
M - Low carbonation, surprisingly hefty medium body. Too big for the style, but sufficiently ample for the ABV. A bit too sticky, with only mild grain character.
D - This was quite easy to drink, but beyond the aroma it wasn't a particularly successful take on the style. Better than the New Belgium and White Birch takes on the style, but pretty far behind the better German offerings and the sublime Southampton offering. A few of us easily polished off the 1L growler, but I wouldn't seek this one out again.

A - Cloudy straw yellow colored beer with a slight head that you'd miss if you blinked. No stick on the sides.
S - Some sweet tartness, smells a little bit like pez. Little bit of butter and slight bit of phenolic yeast.
T - Doesn't really taste much like it smells. A bit more phenol and harsh yeast. Pretty sweet, the heavy sweetness loses a lot of what makes a good berliner weisse good.
M - A little syrupy, very low carbonation. Lighter side of medium bodied.
O - Not particularly great for the style, and not something I really would care to have again.
