A - Served with a pretty much black body and a one finger, tan head...the head didn't stick around too long as it fell to a ring pretty quickly...not too much lacing was left

S - Deep roasted malt and chocolate are what I get first...the Witbier characteristics are underlying...you can find some wheat and fruit

T - The flavors actually come together better than I thought...the malts are what hit you first...you can pick up the roasted malt very easy and as you get towards the middle the wheat malts stand out...there is some orange flavors that you have to search for, but they are there...the chocolate hints itself throughout the beer, but it comes around more towards the end...the finish is lighter than expected

M - Medium bodied...lighter than expected...it's light and chewy like a Witbier but the chocolate and roasted malt adds some body

O - I was intrigued when I saw this on the beer menu...so I had to try it...it's definitely interesting...you can pick out the Witbier characteristics as well as where they adds the extra malts...I'm glad I tried it, but one was enough for me

Very unique and interesting! Served in a chalice with a small orange wedge, this beer barely resembled a witbier at all. A dark, opaque brownish-black color with a thin tan head that receded to nothing, but still left some nice lacing on the glass throughout the entire session, right to the last sip. If I didn't know any better, I'd have though this was a porter, judging by the appearance (minus the orange wedge). Aroma of rich dark malts, wheat, spice, and chocolate. Tasted almost like a light porter: dark malts, cocoa, sweet orange blossom, all overlaid on the classic wheat profile. Definitely interesting. Medium mouthfeel, moderately carbonated, and very drinkable.
