Growler from Iron Hill's taps in Delaware. Thanks Mom n' Dad!
A - Different than your average stout. Has the appearance of a Belgian Dubbel. Muddy brown, hazy and a decent bone-white head. Great lacing though. Here's a photo of the pour on the second day.
S - Milk chocolate, followed by a hint of dark cherry aroma. Pretty pleasant. There's a sharpness to the cherry scent that makes it a bit more pronounced. Pretty nice, but different for a stout.
T - Chocolate is immediate, followed by the cherry notes, just like the nose. The mixture is quite nice. A little more roast would top it off well I think. Aftertaste is cherry and malt. After a day or so from being opened, there's a slight vinous note to it as well. This works alongside the cherry pretty well, so no big deal.
M - Creamy and smooth, but a bit thin. This is better classified as a porter I think. Carbonation on the first day was pretty good.
O - Pretty easy drinking "stout", and one that would surely be a good gateway dark beer for a BMC drinker. If this were something I home-brewed, I'd be ecstatic. Give it a shot with some dessert.

On tap at North Wales location, 3/18/11.
A-Dark brown with some reddish ruby highlights at the bottom of the glass, a nice pool of tan head and decent lacing.
S-Roastier than expected with a nice bittersweet chocolate flavor and a hint of black cherry.
T-Roasted malt, with sweet cherries coming in quickly. Some bittersweet chocolate in the finish. Light hop presence.
M-Light to medium bodied with a bit of richness.
O-Very nice, tasty and refreshing.
