S - Spicy, citrus, malt
T - Nice and spicy. Orange citrus. Decent bitterness.
M - Light-medium body and medium carbonation. Refreshing. A little prickly.
O - Good stuff. Will have again.

Had a can from IH Dewey Beach on 1/26/2020; Canning date 1/7/2020.
Very fresh/ very good Sorachi Ace brew. Light and refreshing but still had plenty of taste...showed off SA hops with a soft even slightly creamy body. Came across as a fresh draft pour. Definitely would buy more of this as weather warms.

On tap at the Media PA location.
Pours golden-amber with good clarity and a very fine thick white head. Excellent lacing.
Fruity and mild hop forward aroma.
Moderately bitter flavor with hints of tropical and over-ripe fruits, wood, and biscuits. The aftertaste provides lingering bitterness with hop notes on a bready background.
The body is a bit watery with medium carbonation.

-hazy golden can pour with fine carbonation. The aroma has a slight lemon note. The flavor is full and superb, round citrus and watermelon, with a spicy Sorachi Ace hop-top. There is a hint of coconut too. I enjoyed this immensely (twice) and would be pleased to find it again.

Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, "Rising Sun IPA"
16 fl. oz. can, "CANNED ON 04/18/17 14:00:45" and sampled on 05/01/17
Rising Sun IPA is brewed exclusively with Japanese Sorachi Ace hops that give it its unique flavor profile.
It's a slightly hazy medium gold beneath a frothy head of bright white. The head retention is good, perhaps even very good, and it settles into a creamy surface covering surrounded by rising mountains of lace.
The aroma expresses golden, grainy malt with a touch of woodiness, some floral notes, and fruit.
The flavor, however, is quite different, although the woodiness remains in the finish. It's got a pronounced coconut note that's usually not found in golden beers, and that's coming directly from the hops. There's some fruitiness to it as well, perhaps some peach, mango, orange and lemon, but they're fairly muddled and don't 'pop' like the coconut. Apart from that it's got a solid bitterness, but not to the point that it interrupts the flavor as it crosses the palate, it mainly shows its girth in the finish. Some spicy, almost Cedar-like woodiness lingers in the finish with just a touch of residual coconut.
Medium bodied and moderately crisp in the mouth, it's an easy to drink IPA that's interesting and pleasant. One might argue that it's not as complex as some other very hoppy IPAs can be, and that's probably true, but the trade off for the uniqueness of the coconut is well worth it; and although some additional tropical fruit might mix very well with that, it's also nice to see the Sorachi Ace hops displayed exclusively.
