A Tim Stumpf creation...yeah! I'm totally into hybrids, or creations/twists on something different. From the Iron Hill website... Description: A dark Belgian style strong ale made with 50% wheat and sweet orange peels. Full of fruit and spicy complexity.
Appears a murky, cidery, dark brown with a small beige head that fades into a mild cap.Tubular, spotty lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is yeasty, fruity, full of plums, raisins, caramel, grains, toffee, light plastic phenols. Very interesting and original.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with plastic and fruity flavors strangling each other for supremacy in the heavy flavors of caramel, yeast, spice, and over-ripened fruit.
Mouthfeel is medium-full with estery, Belgian yeast phenols rousing the palate.
This one is a bit spicy and hot. It is good now but could certainly benefit from aging. I hope Tim saved a small portion of this somewhere.
