A: The beer is hazy pale light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. As the yeast poured out, the beer got hazier. It poured with a finger and a half high dense white head that only died down a little, consistently leaving a half finger high head covering the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of lemony wheat and orange peels are present in the nose. Just some hints of coriander are present towards the finish.
T: The taste is similar to the smell in that it has flavors of lemons and wheat but is also a little sweet.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This was unexpectedly refreshing from a beer from the Ukraine. I could see this as a perfect introduction to the style for someone who is trying it for the first time. I would have no problem drinking several of these in succession.

The idea of a Ukrainian Witbier was foreign to me until recently, when I suddenly saw two of them in a local european deli.

Into a tapered mug the beer pours a cloudy tan orange, with plently of unfiltered yeast, which the label instructs to swirl and pour into the glass. A billowing head rises with about three fingers width of foam, that takes awhile to settle.

Soft aroma of citrus and coriander, mellow grainy wheat, light minerals.

Mellow and smooth feel, medium bodied and lightly dry with a faint coriander note. Kind of plain, but drinkable. Some papery malt and mild tangy citrus, though its pretty subdued overall. There you have it, a Ukrainian beer that doesn't suck.

A: Very pale looks almost like a champagne or juice with not much head. Poured into a snifter glass. Not translucent at all.

S: Smells very strongly of apples with a wheat smell as well. Not what I would expect at all from a wheat beer. Smell goes away quickly after opened.

T: Wheat beer with a taste of coriander. Not heavy slightly sour.

M: Not as heavy as its appearance. Comparable it to the feel you get when drinking seltzer.

O: Not what I was expecting. Bought this beer based on the reviews. Was a light tasting and feeling wheat beer. I was impressed by the addition of the sour apple flavor and scent. I havent had any other wheat beers like it.

Picked up a bottle for $2 at Euromart in Queens. I guess this falls somewhere between being the Blue Moon and Hoegaarden of Ukraine. It's just a simple, but authentic-tasting wit. The aroma is a mix of bready wheat and coriander. It feels a little light overall, but was very thirst-quenching, which I dont usually notice. There's a juicy lemon note that stands out in the flavor before it finishes with orange zest. There are hints of Belgian spice and vanilla.

A- color appears to be a soft straw color. Kind of cloudy with very little lacing. Yep, looks like a bile/wheat beer.

S - soft, citrus smell.

T - very good. It has a hint of coriander, which gives this beer a nice citrus flavor. Refreshing taste that goes well with the hot weather outside.

M - light carbonation, crisp

D - easy. glad it came in a 16.9 oz bottle.

With a name like this, how could you NOT pick it up? Original Taste - Obolon Bile. Yum.

What a gorgeous pour! Hazy orange with a dense white head with great retention. Unfortunately, not much lacing is observed.

This is one strange bastard. It's a combination of a witbier with clove and pepper, some grassiness, some skunk (green bottle FTW). Definitely "green", the smell of fresh cut grass is pretty big. Bready and wheaty. The coriander is rather prominent, in someways this makes me think "unsalted, uninfected gose". Decent, I guess. With some time, the skunk character disappears, and this one is all coriander.

Surprisingly decent, this beer opens up with a combination of spices (coriander seeds, pepper, and nutmeg) carried on a wheat-based body. Bready, all the grassy and skunky notes just don't seem to show up on the palate. Plenty of spice is present, this unfortunately thins out mid-palate, resulting in a rather whelming spice character. Coriander is so over the top, I am reminded again of the few goses I've had and how fresh and green the coriander character is in them. Drying on the finish, this finishes spicy with a lot of coriander. Light in body with high carbonation, this is solid on the palate, and is quite drinkable.

Poured from a green 16.9 oz. bottle. Has a cloudy brown color with a 1/2 inch head. Aroma full of spices and somewhat sweet. Taste is delicious. A perfect combination of spices and citrus. Feels great in the mouth and has good drinkability. Overall this makes for an exceptional brew.
