Obolon Premium came in a 1pt.9floz green bottle. The color was a light clear gold with almost no head. It had a coarse grainy aroma. The taste was mild and earthy with some hop bite. The finish was dry and a bit sweet. Nothing very exciting going on. Nevertheless it was thirst quenching and tasted okay after clearing brush for 3 hours.

A: Pours a clear bright lemon to golden yellow in color with heavy amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a quarter finger tall fizzy white head that reduces to an extremely thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer with a thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: This beer had a fairly strong aroma of apple cider with some lighter notes of a spice that I cannot quite put my finger on (maybe it could be cinnamon). Then there are some light notes of grassy hops as well as a small amount of corn adjunct malts as well.
T: Based on the smell, I was expecting the flavor of this beer to be sweeter but was pleasantly surprised that it was not too sweet. Flavors of apple cider (though not overly sweet), some cereal graininess, and some lightly metallic notes. The beer also has some light grassy hop bitterness that lingers.
M: On the lighter side of medium bodied with heavy amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin but a little dry in the finish.
O: Wasn't really sure what to expect when this one was found at a convenient store out in Brooklyn - the entire label on the can was in Russian with a single small nutritional information sticker on it in English. This beer was very easy to drink and quite sessionable.

A: The beer is clear lemony golden yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that eventually completely faded away.
S: There are aromas of apple in the nose along with some hints of spices (possibly cinnamon) and some hints of malty sweetness.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and has flavors of apple cider and malts. There is a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels a bit shy of medium-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer isn’t that difficult to drink, but the apple cider aromas and flavors make it seem a little strange.

Purchased: Single from Aleksey's Market, Nashville
A: Golden color and clear, with many bubbles streaming in the glass. Head is white and stands at 2 fingers. Retention is fair, with little in the way of lacing.
S: Aromas are of hay, grasses, and noble hops, but overall are weak.
T: Light breadiness with a touch of hop bittering. Also some metallic off tastes.
M: Highly carbed, with a light to medium body. The finish is lightly bitter and somewhat dry.
O: Serves a role as an uninspired thirst quencher/lawnmower beer.

Out of a bottle this beer was a clear golden color with a light bronze tint to it. The white head displayed decent retention but left little lacing off the collar. The aroma was of cereal grains, sweet malt and a hint of ‘skunkiness’. Not sure if this was a freshness problem or an execution of the recipe problem. The flavors were also off and not much to speak of. Cereal grains, a little corn, hints of metal and a hoppy bitterness on the finish. Not altogether pleasant. The mouthfeel was a bit slick, the body medium and the carbonation good.

My first Ukrainian beer. It's a shame I haven't gotten around to one of these sooner, considering my grandparents are Ukrainian.
It pours a standard medium straw colour. The head is quite nice though. It's about a finger thick and very foamy.
The smell is mostly that typical "wet grain" lager smell. There are some nice hops in the background, but they are very faint.
I'm kind of let down by the taste. It had a lot of potential judging by the aroma. Instead it is thin and wattery. There is only a faint grain taste. The hops are rather pronounced though, and it has quite a bitter finish. That doesn't make it good though.
Overall, I'm not going to be getting this again. Its a good thing my grandparents left Ukraine.

Adjunct beer in a green bottle carefully poured into an imperial pint glass developed almost no head, which vaporized immediately.
Best thing about the beer is a nice lingering bitterness on the tongue. There's hops here.
Otherwise the sweetness is overpowering while drinking.
However, lagers are not my thing right now.
The bottle says "Ale Obolong Premium". It is not an ale.
Skunky.
Slight hint of industrial machining lubricants.
Beer went flat in the glass before I could finish it.
Pouring out the last 3 ounces now. Will rinse mouth with water.

Appearance is a hazy yellow straw color retaining a thin but fair head. Smell and taste coincide with the grainy malt a light floral bitterness that finishes fairly clean. Mouthfeel is light with good carbonation. A classic taste for the style having a little bitter in the end.

Clear and straw yellow with a white, soapy cap of bubbles. Decent head retention, though it didn't start with much, and a little spotty lacing. Floral aroma, a bit sulfury, malty and a bit grainy, slightly crackery. Low bitterness with lemony hops up front and a hint of spicy and metallic notes in the finish. More grainy, crackery malt sweetness. Light bodied, leaning towards the thin side, with moderate carbonation and a bit of astringent dryness. Overall, not bad, but I preferred the regular Obolon lager.

The body is pale and transparent with a lot of little bubbles filling the glass. The head is white and soapy. It will fade away quickly to very thin line of lace. The aroma is very grassy with some grain tones. The flavor is grass like but sort of corny and adjunct. The body is very watery.

500ml bottle
Served in a pilsner glass
A - Straw yellow with about four inches of fluffy, white head. Lots of bubbles continue to feed the head.
S - It comes in a green bottle so of course its smells skunked.
T - It has a metallic taste and slightly bitter.
M - Thin and watery
O - I'm not impressed with this one.

500ml bottle - $3.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours out a clear, cheery-looking yellow body with a fluffy layering of white suds.
Smell: Sweet, cereal-scented with a hint of Fritos and some background skunk and swept-up metal shavings. Dare we go further??
Taste: Sweetish taste of finely-ground corn sugar with some very displeasant hints of sulphur, metal, skunkiness, chlorine... plus a little bitterness, yes, let's not forget that. Just an ugly maltiness remaining on the drying, everso slightly husky astringent finish.
Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: An unclean almost awe-inspiringly disastrous product from the Ukraine. My friend from the aforementioned country gave only a "lol" via text message when I mentioned I'd acquired a bottle.

Obolon Premium is a strange lager that I didn't particularly like.
A: Pale straw colour and a decent 4 mm head that fades to some lacing. 4.
S: Smells like a musty, abandoned building. 2.5
T: The taste is quite malty with a hint of maple syrup. There is a sourness and some saltiness in the aftertaste. 3.
M: Quite foamy. 4
O: Not that enjoyable. 3

Yeah, it's me taking it in the CAN as part of the ongoing madness known as The CANQuest (TM). M'man, crossovert, put me onto a EuroMarket that CAN sell beer and they have a buncha CANs available, plus Kvass, so I quickly put in an order.
Jesus H. Christ, I have run through the Russians in a way that the Nazis could have only dreamed about! I took delivery on Thursday and I am almost out of the CANs and even the Kvass is dwindling. I am now exploring the idea of one of the artistes formerly known as a Mail-Order Bride, now an Internet Bride, from Russia or Eastern Europe. If she CAN cook (although I know how), plus bring some beer with her (especially in a CAN), I may have a place in my life for such a person. Zadrovia, kamarades!
Whoops! The Feebs just started banging on my door, again. Why izzit that every time I mention Russians, Communism, armed revolution or anything tangentially on those subjects, that I get a visit? I had better get my review in as they have begun to draw both weapons and cuffs. Don't taze me, bro! How about a review? Nice of you to Cask.
According to an importer's label, this was a "Famous Ukrainian beer, brewed with Old World recipes, using the finest ingredients." Beyond that, I need the translator mentioned in the first paragraph. Remember how turned on Gomez Addams was by Morticia "Tish"'s speaking of French? I would be the equivalent in Russian. No BS, if you were not a linguist or dealing in espionage, you had NO business trucking with the Russkies in Ronnie Reagan's Navy and even dreaming about them was cause for investigation.
I fell in love in Haifa, Israel with a Kiev, Ukraine expat. She had the longest legs of any woman that I have ever been with. I met her while on liberty on our first night inport and other than my duty day, we were inseparable. Talk about a Mutt 'n' Jeff pair, she towered over me! Actually, we were more Muff 'n' Jeff, since that was where my head was in relation to her. She was an Amazon! I still think of her, occasionally. Like now.
This was their "Export Beer" and the finger of bone-white head exported itself pretty quickly. Color was an oh-so-slightly hazy golden yellow. Nose had a pleasant maltiness, lager as lager should be. What?!? Real, unadulterated lager? In a CAN?!? On the same night as thinking of my Ukrainian honey honey? No! My birthday was LAST Friday. Pinch me, I'm dreaming. Export this more often, along with some UralGurls. Mouthfeel was medium with hints of honey and malted barley. Dang, but this was goood! Finish was super smoooth and threatened to disappear in a heartbeat.
Cooler? Heck, yes, Daddy-O! I'm headed to the beaches of the Black Sea to see what inhabits the bikinis of that neck of the woods and I should bring a cooler since it may be an all-day project.

Appearence was average with a ittle head.
Smell waa okay and pretty average
Taste, average or what? Kinda malty
Mouthfeel, could be thicker.
Drinkability is okay, but at its price its suitable, not that tther arent better beers for the same price.
