A - Dark brown/black. Tons of head. Lots of bubbles fighting to top of glass.
S - Very good smell. Hops and chocolate dominate.
T - Not as much as in the smell. Chocolate first, then some hops. A touch of roastiness to round it out.
M - This is what ruins this one for me. Waaay too much carbonation. Very much so distracts from the taste. A medium/light body doesn't help either.
O - I can't look beyond the mouthfeel for this one. Too bad because their is something quite pleasant about the smell of this one.

A: Pours a clear but opaque jet black in color with very light amounts of gentle visible carbonation near the surface of the beer and a light amount of very dark amber + cola brown highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of very thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Light to moderate aromas of freshly ground coffee and roasted + chocolate malts.
T: Light to moderate flavors of roasted malts (including chocolate malts) with some lighter notes of freshly roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Light to moderate amounts of lingering bitterness.
M: Slightly less than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.
O: I found this beer to be pretty easy to drink with the fairly low ABV, lighter body, and light flavors. Enjoyable but it would be a little better with a slightly stronger flavor - though the same types of flavors just a little more pronounced or intense.

A: The beer is essentially jet black in color—faint traces of brown are visible near the edges of the glass when it is held up to a bright light. It poured with a half finger high dense tan head that died down a bit, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of coffee beans and chocolate malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and also has some hints of roasted malts along with a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels a bit shy of medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. Slight bits of smoothness from the oats are noticeable.
O: This beer is easy to drink, isn't too filling and has some nice flavors. I think it could have stood out a little more if the taste was a little bolder.

Jet black with ruby hues when held to light. Tannish head with descent retention and some lace spots.
Oatmeal aroma along with smoked hickory, charcoal and raisins.
Dark fruits form the foundation with prune and raisin characteristics. Toasty malt. Espresso, tobacco and dark chocolate. Earthy hop bitterness in great balance with the malt. Mildly sweet with plenty of roasted bitterness. Smooth oats descend onto the palate in the finish.
Medium to full bodied. Well carbonated with a grainy texture.
Very good oatmeal stout. Complex, well balanced and highly drinkable..

12oz can. Black with a creamy and smooth mocha head that drenches the sides of the glass with thick lacing. Smells of roast, cocoa, a bit of caramel and some green citrus. The roast adds a good bit of the flavor to this. The taste is similar, with a moderately flavorful mix of coffee, green citrus and then a flush of sweetness across the back. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a soft crispness that flows easily enough but is overall coming off as a bit thin. This actually isn’t too bad and was a big step up for me from some of the other canned offerings that I’ve had from the Onion.

A - Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a one-finger, off-white head of foam. It left thin rings of lace on the glass.
S - It smelled roasty with notes of chocolate and flaked oats.
T - It had a good bit of chocolate and oatmeal flavor. Nice bitterness with a late developing roastiness.
M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. Medium bodied ale.
O - This is my first Wild Onion brew. I really enjoyed it. Nicely done.

A: The beer pours a dark cola brown with a thin coco head that dissipates quickly into a thin film leaving a trail of lacing.
S: Hints of milk chocolate and roasted malt.
T: The taste follows suit with a nice bite of roasted malt and sweeter chocolate finish.
M: The carbonation is spot on and carries this medium bodied stout throughout the session.
O: Overall this is a nice stout in a can and my favorite offering from Wild Onion to date. I would have this again but won't be seeking it out.
