The colour is pale gold (7 EBC), the liquid is cloudy. The two finger off-white airy head slowly sinks down, leaving minimal lacing.

The smell is strong. Fresh yeasty notes, chalk, flowers and green grass. Thick sweet flavours. Hints of fresh meats. Flowery bitter hops, hints of metal.

The taste is smooth and quite mild. Sweet bread-like malts, some bitterness that turns into notes of green plants and unripe berries. Quite a lot of flowery notes. Medium body. The aftertaste got some notes of wheat flour, fresh bread, chalk and tree sap. The finish is smooth and sweet.

The carbonation is medium strong, small short-lived bubbles. The liquid is dry.

An over-smooth Kellerbier, I would like it to be rougher.

Beer bottle (50 cl.), tasted in 2011.

Appearance : pale golden color, with white foamy head.
Smell : light malty and hoppy aromas and herbal notes.
Taste and mouthfeel : Slight grassy flavour, and medium bitterness in finish.
Drinkability : an average beer in the style Keller Bier.

Picked up today, last weekend in Osnabureck Germany!!!! My name Zepp, in German is Sepp, so...
Flip top bottle opens with a nice POP. Poured is a beautiful Kellerbier, thats one of my main loves of this style, everyone is different. Thick white head, light malty albier-like body, good carbonation. Less murky than most Keller biers I've had. a little too clean looking for a Kellerbier though.
Smell is immediant reminescent of apple cider, vinegar, musty grain, but the fermented fruit remains upfront. Bruised pears, figs, grape, brown bread spice-clove, a bit of nutmeg. The sour apple character opens and really becomes very cider-like. Love it.
Flavor is apple cider, married with malt caramel, pear. Really good, i like the vinegary finish. More sips reveal more grains sour fruits,
Most Keller biers are more rustic, unfliltered, in between the lines of Weizen and Helles. This brew was a bit too filtered for me. The "rustic" character really never emerged.
In a blind test, I would call this an Altbier, the tartness, carbonation, light maltiness, all fit the style. As a Kellerbier, not too impressive.

Pours light hazy amber/golden two finger head that very slowly dissipates, good-looking and rather dense lacing. Aroma is fresh citrus hops, some fruity esters, bits of yeast.

Taste is malt with caramel that is nicely balanced with mild bitterness, slight feeling of honey towards the finish and citrus aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium with moderate carbonation, I have rarely encountered so lively carbonation in Kellerbiers.

A solid and very refreshing brew, just what I was looking for in a Friday evening.

This Kellerbier produces a good amount of bright white head, which is about two fingers thick. The body is very hazy and is a light tan color.

The aromas are of fresh mown hay and vast amounts of yeasty ester.

The taste is very refreshing. Lots of pilsner and lager style flavors to include the husky tastes and feels of a good keller bier.

BB Oct-05. Great white foam that's thick as whipped cream and beautifull and very clowdy golden beer. Smell is fresh, very hopflowery( H.mittelfrueh or Saaz?). Together with litle maltarome of palemalt and some yeastesters making it a good nose. Taste is litle empty, alcoholic and malty. Still the fresh and flowery hops noticable making this one enjoyable. Hops are good but there is a litle yeastbitterness in the aftertaste. Not that disturbing though and the brew overall gives a fresh and flowery mouthfeel, but be aware of the alcohol cause it drinks like lemonade.
