poured a brown with ruby edges.. rough pour gave a tan head that dissipated quickly for such a low abv...
smell was off.. smelled sort of like rotten fruit.. not sour fruit, but rotten.
Taste was very odd.. up front there was slight twang, but this was followed by an awful aftertaste, like butter covered rotten fruit. Not at all pleasant.
The mouthfeel was decent, could have been a tad more carbonated, but then again, I couldnt keep it in my mouth that long.
This one was a drain pour for me. Sadly, I have a second bottle that I will never drink, and I will feel bad if I send it as an extra.. although who knows, someone else might like it.

Pours deep copper with a minimal head. Slight lacing, but nothing great.
Aroma is...interesting. Not nearly as sour as some Flanders although still manages to smell like straight vinegar at times. A little too malty with a funk characteristic that is not to style.
Again a bit maltier than expected. Acetone finish with some cherry acidity. Not very good.
Light to medium bodied with lower carb than the usual.
Taste like a bad homebrew experiment. Not sure why this was willingly released.

Poured on-tap and served in a tumbler pint, the beer is a muddled, cloudy, opaque reddish-brown color with no trace of head whatsoever. A subtle nose, with tart cherry highlights. The beer has a tangy, sour backbone of white grape and cherry, with a slight roasting overall. The aftertaste is puckering bitter, with a subtle tartness. A dry, astringent finish at the end. More mild than other Flanders style brews. Decent, and would make a good starter for someone new to the world of sours.

Sweet, another Portsmouth beer! Oh wait, they made one overhyped limited release beer (that's not nearly as good as it's supposed to be) and all their other beers are supposed to be good? But they all suck! But this will be different! Of course it will! It will be different because MasterSki brought it and MasterSki never tries to give me bad beer. He also never tries to give me winter warmers.
A - Orangish copper colored beer that has a little bit of a head and leaves some moderate lacing around.
S - Smell is just a bad combination of vinegar, chemicals, and rotting garbage. If it was more potent it would be gag inducing. It its current form, it's merely just disgusting. I've smelled worse, but this is pretty gross.
T - I don't think it tastes as bad as it smells, but you have to be careful not to breath in through your nose as you're drinking this. Cherry flavor somehow makes the metallic vinegar taste worse. Yuck.
M - Lower carbonation, lighter bodied.
O - Pretty bad beer, although don't think I hated it as much as everyone else who was drinking it. That said, won't drink it again.

Thanks (not really) to Masterski for bringing this one along. Also, thanks (not really) to Kan for having this on his wants, thus making Alex bring the bottle to the tasting. Poured into Cantillon tulip/snifter thingy.
A - Pours a rusty copper, very clear and watery, thin collar, some bubbles here and there on top. Looks like Koolaid, pretty much.
S - Huge off-putting metallic note upon first sniff, corn, fake cherries, and oak. Woah, that's not good...the metallic and fake cherries are really the main points of the nose, which is bad.
T - Lots of metallic/vinegar notes, like licking the bottom of an empty metal pool that had some cherry Koolaid spilled on the bottom. Yeah, not good.
M - Light, watery, no carbonation, dry finish.
O - Metallic, fake, and cherry Koolaid. That's pretty much how I'd sum this one up. Don't try it, even if your buddy has it on his wants and another friend brings it. Bad bad tick.

Thanks to BeerTruth for this one. I've been saving it to share with Kan, as I saw it on his wants list. Comes highly recommended by largadeer too. Served in a HopCat tulip.
A - Slow gusher. Pours to a quick-dissolving white foam that settles to a thin ring and a few wispy bubbles, leaving no lace. Transparent reddish-orange.
S - Corn chips, nail polish remover, light vomit, and some faint cherries. As it warms up there is out-of-control acetobacter and vinegar.
T - Very strange in that it tastes nothing like it smells, but it is equally unpleasant. Strange mineral quality, rust, and some light tart cherries.
M - Watery, thin, low carbonation. Finishes somewhat sticky. The listed 4.5% alcohol explains a lot.
D - Wow! This was terrible. Upon perusing some of the other reviews it seems there is somewhat extreme batch variation. Unfortunately my experience was largely in line with reviews by Tayner, Cedromar, and PEBKAC. I'd consider trying again on-tap at the brewpub, but another bottle would frighten me.

Thanks to Goblinmunkey7 for this as a nice extra.
A- Pours a deep amber with some brownish hues in there as well. There isn't any haze to it and there was just a wisp of lacing. No lacing left behind on the glass.
S- I pick up a good amount of sweet malts and some slight cherry. I also pick up some cheerios and a slight wet cardboard/ brown paper bag. Weird but it works.
T- Some tart cherry plays right along side with the nice malt, adding some sweetness to it as well. This has a nice pucker to it but overly so.
M- Medium bodied that has a crisp, sour bite to it. A nice dry finish begs for another drink.
D- I could probably finish off the whole growler of this in a sitting and not have to worry about palate fatigue. Good flavors and a decent sour kick make this a solid offering. Not as good as some of it's Belgian counterparts but still a good interpretation.
