De Labirratorium. En copa de hefe de Bavaria. Jugando a Fortnite. Una buena marzen a la que quizás le echo en falta un pelín más de espesor en el cuerpo e intensidad en el sabor maltoso para llegar al sobresaliente pero no es que este aguada o insipida en absoluto

Half Litre Bottle. Poured a reasonable head which disappeared quickly as is normal for the style. Pale amber colour, clear. Had a wheaty aroma. This was the most bitter Märzen I´ve ever tasted, had hoppy grassy malty notes. Decent mouthfull. Not what I expected at all but was nice.

This 0.5l bottle was another from my haul at Rewe in Bamberg during my September trip. This one cost 0.79€, with a 0.08€ deposit on top of that. Freshness dating notched on the label said best before 07DEC10.

A clear, golden liquid filled my pint glass. Carbo was sparse and scattered. Head was healthy and white, mousse-like in its creaminess, starting at a full inch before settling in as a fine layer of bubbliness. Lacing was top-shelf.
Smells of biscuity malty, toast and light sweetness fill the air. Body was a solid medium, with a fairly smooth feel across the tongue.

Lightly sweet malts hit the palate, contributing flavors of toast, bread and biscuits. Pretty good start, overall. Following in the footsteps of the malts are some flowery hop flavors. These hop notes linger nicely while slowly fading away. A solid Märzen, very drinkable. Zum Wohl!!

From BeerAdvocate Magazine Volume II, Issue IV:

This beer takes on a glowing orange color when put up to the light, but also shows a chill haze which is odd for this style. White lacing adorns the inside of the glass, with a few rings here and there. Clean malty aroma with sweetness, slight toffee on top with bready and doughy notes on bottom. Super smooth with a deep but soft crispness, and that lifts the moderate body a little bit. Malt flavors first come off as biscuity and bready, a small drop of sweetness in the middle, then dried grass in the end. Hop bitterness is modest yet ready to keep balance, the flavor brings a tasty herbal flavor from middle to end. Suggests of caramel, ripe banana and a mildly nutty yeast in the finish.

Aside from the haze, this beer is not half-bad. There seems to be a definite house character which may stray from the beer style, yet they still keep it flavorful, drinkable and certainly interesting. With that said, it is without a doubt different from its counterparts that are brewed in the US.
