Pretty good pilsner, came out with a clear straw yellow with a darn nice thick and rich white head floating on top. Plenty of lace all the way down.

Interesting brew, with an aroma of grassy malt, touch of lemon. But the quaff sealed the deal - a tangy euro style brew with malt balanced with a good hop kick. Crisp and dry finish, a very drinkable brew.

Not the wimpy crowd pleasing dumb-downed pils I was expecting. Go ahead and try one.

Served this Czech style pilsener on tap at the brewery, in a pint glass. This is Morgan Streets flagship beer and it won the gold medal in the 2010 Beer Cup so im expecting big things. This brew poured a clear straw color, produced an average white head, possessed poor retention but did have nice lacing. The aroma was smelled of pale malt, slight hints of caramel and floral hops. Light in body, this Pilsener has a backbone of sweet pale malt, some caramel and a decent amount of bittering hops. Creamy, smooth, and a dry finish. Nice example of the style- not outstanding but good in terms of most pilseners that are produced.

Tap at 33 in STL.

A - Poured a clear, straw yellow color with golden highlights. It had a one-finger, white head of bubbly foam that left some sudsy lace.

S - It smelled of caramel with some floral notes. Not outstanding but nice.

T - It had a sweet caramel flavor with a slight nuttiness. A mild spicy hop bite added some balance.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light to medium bodied lager with a dry finish.

O - This is a pretty nice Czech Pils. I had never had anything from Morgan Street so I was good to find this at 33.

Found on tap at Fitz's on the Loop in St Louis.

For a pilsner on tap, this one looked absolutely fantastic. Light tannish in color and pretty clear in complexion. What really stood out was that even on tap, this pils had a really nice, lasting head which never completely went away, even though I took my time with the beer, and had absolutely spectacular lacing, leaving thick sheets after every sip sticking to the glass.

Smelled lightly grassy and lightly malty, pleasant but not terribly strong.

I definitely liked the taste, very nicely done. Crispy hops accented a caramel malt background gave exactly what you'd expect from a Czech pilsner.

Body was surprisingly thick and far fuller than I expected. Great floral hoppy aftertaste finished it off.

Pilsners don't get enough love around here, but they're a very welcomed addition to your choices when you're out on the town and don't want to get drunk too fast. This one was quite good and certainly deserves a high rating. Great job!

Reviewed 11/14/2008 (Tap sampler @ Morgan Street Brewery, St. Louis, MO):

Pours a golden yellow clear body. Foamy, creamy, white head. Has a wheaty malty aroma, a little effervescence, and some graininess. Grainy taste, and some wheat or hay. Clean tasting. Not a creamy palate. Some nuttiness. Refreshing

on tap into a pub glass at the brewpub in St. Louis. pours a yellowish gold with minimal head that is reduced to a soapy rim after a minute or so. no lacings.

aroma is of pale malts, with a curiously concentrated light hop quality (for a pilsener). nicely composed.

taste is more of the same with a very fresh hop quality. very nice in proportion.

mouthfeel is light bodied with a really crisp finish. an excellent pilsner!

drinkability is great. this is a solid pils with a fresh and delicate profile. the finish on this one is superb!

Czech Pilsner / Bohemian Pilsner, is light straw clear in the pint glass with a snow white head. Hops are Saaz and well done. Smooth and crisp with a clean malty medium body. Lagering has left this perfect with no diacetyl, esters very refreshing and a popular session according to the Morgan Street's crew.

I get to be the first to review this one? Ok.

I had tried a few other of the Morgan St. brews before I got to this one... the others were very average, drinkable, but average.

This was the one that stood out the most.

Appearance was great. Very classical Pilsner look, bright golden color, with a good looking head.

Smells and aromas were slight, but pleasant. Had a faint herbal and grassy quality to it.

Flavor was good. A good representation of the Pilsner style. Full bodied, nice rounded mouthfeel, and just enough of that classic euro hop flavor and a slightly sweet malty finish.

Good stuff. I could have had a few of these.
