Teased from the loam by the kiss of the Sun. Mom’s Strawberry Rhubarb delights are the happy memories of childhood. Diploma Master Brewer Dan employed juicy sweet Strawberries to tame the barbaric wild tart fermentation of rhubarb. Escaped from the far corners of neighboring yards, local rhubarb was incorporated into the wild sour fermentation to create this drinkable dream. Bright sour and effervescent.

750ml bottle, shared at a tasting and reviewed from notes.
A: Clear, deep purple-brown body under an inch of off-white head. Good retention, great lace. Lovely.
S: Rich, sweet strawberry and not much else. Incredibly authentic, fresh, and intense.
T: Sweet, candied strawberry up front, with some tart rhubarb adding further complexity and intensity toward the end. Amazing, and infinitely more delicious than any strawberry beer I've ever had - including the sublime Allagash Avance.
M: Lively, frothy medium body. A little sticky, but good.
O: All other strawberry beers I've had have failed utterly to convey the sweet, juicy delight of a fresh strawberry. Most have been dull messes, others have survived by making the strawberry an afterthought in an otherwise good beer (e.g. Avance, Oudbeitje). Leave it to New Glarus to make a fruit beer that perfectly captures the essence of the fruit in question.
Cheers!

A: crystal clear; deep peach in color; less than a 1 finger light pink head that receded to a thin, tight collar; very little lacing;
S; strawberry jam;
T: follows the nose from start to finish; mild tartness from the middle through the end;
M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: OK, but I would have liked more rhubarb tartness; this was a little too sweet for me;

(12 oz can, L023 0641R; purchased single off shelf at their Beer Depot last month... poured into a stemless wine glass)
L: somewhat clear ruby-rouge liquid; rouged foam that falls away fast... some scant spitty sudlets remain, but it's looking otherwise still
S: strawberry skin, then beer, then strawberry puree; ridiculously redolent; sort of a Turkish delight or gummy candy tone, hints of greenery, chlorophyll accenting
T: lots/tons of fruit infusion in a lightly beery liquid; bit of pithy tartness in the aftertaste; fruity in spades but not too terribly sweet... just too intensely, densely drenched in fruit to allow much grain character to express, but it seems like enough of a malty undercurrent rises up to support the smoothie
F: viscous and nectar-ine but stretched, leaving little legs; a lithe finish... lightly-spiked, filtered fruit concentrate... light enough over the course, longing to be cut with some peppery spice from a seasoned, grilled meat
O: had this on tap at the brewery last month, later buying a couple cans on the way out... lacking some of the acidic contrast that their other fruit beers enjoy and excel from... still, a superb achievement in fruited beerage (2230)

12oz can
L: pours ruby red with a thin beige head with pink hues
S: sweet strawberries, sour rhubarb
T: strawberry rhubarb pie, pale grain, faint yeast
F: medium body, moderate-to-higher carbonation, sweet start-to-finish with a bit of sour/tart at the end
O: it’s pretty sweet for my liking, but oh so flavorful!

12oz bottle, no date, served in a shaker pint glass.
Appearance: Clear deep reddish-purple, with a pink head across the top. Some islands and thick strands of lacing noted.
Smell: Definite strawberry, with some underlying rhubarb.
Taste: Perfect blend of the rhubarb and strawberry. There is a nice tartness to it, but it's not a sour tartness. Some underlying berry-like notes (fruity esters) underneath it all as well.
Mouthfeel: Prickly carbonation, juice-like thickness, sticky on the teeth and a bit of a dry finish.
Overall / Drinkability: Very nice. A fruity dessert in a glass. But I do only want one per evening. I can't see drinking a lot of this in one sitting.

Plenty of good fruit flavor, including the rhubarb, with a nice beer-ish finish. Where’s the patio?

Superb Strawberry flavor! Simply smooth and carbonated. It reminds me of drinking a strawberry soda. Very light on alcohol content at 4%. A good summer fruit beer. Snag it if you see it because it’s hard to find.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pours deep red with a small off white head. Smells of fresh strawberry. Tastes of bright strawberry with some tangy rhubarb. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.
