A - this one pours a ruby amber in color with ample fizzy fluffy head and solid lacing

S - cherry, cherry purée, cordial cherry, green apple, a bit of apple sauce, sour patch kids

T - cherry tart to the utmost; Serendipity tastes like a massive cherry tart bomb on apple-grape steroids; maybe a touch of cinnamon; a deliciously tart juice

M - this one has some serious tart pucker combined with perfect notes of sugar sweetness and the right amount of bite and fizz

O - serendipidelicious. Honestly, this is an awesome fruit beer and a perfectly complimentary offering along with Belgian Red and Wisconsin.

BIG thanks to fvernon for this incredible extra! enjoyed from my new glarus flute.

a - brew poured a transparent yet deep ruby mahogany with a finger of foamy bubbly head that bubbled away. very champagne like carbonation. great streaky lacing. head was a bit pinkish tinted.

s - OH WOW! smells INCREDIBLE! really and truly amazing. my mouth started to water. just cherry fruit juice. rich and flavorful.

t - wow. just incredible. smells a bit better than it tastes, but the taste is a homerun...the smell, that's a grandslam. nice tangy cherry, but not overly so. not kreik like...vedgie beer like.

m - very champagne like. fizzy and prickly.

o - overall, just WOW!!! new glarus really owns the vedgie beer category. if only they would distribute. i'm just amazed by each and every one of these that they churn out.

Served in a gourmet wine glass.

A: Clear red brown for sure, with a wispy white head.

S: Fruit bomz r us for sure: Totally raspberries for sure. Pure, solid, organic, and totally sweet.

T: Sour, fruity, and raspberry infused for sure. New Glarus really knows how to do this.

M: Bubbly, sweet, and very tasty. Splotchy lacing.

O: I'm moving to Wisconsin after I retire.

750ml poured into my D'Achouffe tulip.

Pours a dark red/pinkish color with a very nice inch and a half pinkish white head.

First smell is cranberries, similar to a glass of Ocean Spray cranberry juice. If you dig a little deeper, the cherries are definitely there, similar to the smell of Belgian Red albeit more subdued than Belgian Red. After giving it a good swirl the apples are there, but barely. Cinnamon is also in there.

My initial reaction after the first sip was, "oh wow!" The tart cherries are there initially but the cranberries follow through so perfectly, totally masking the tartness that I expected to get with this brew. Finishes with just a slight hint of apple and caramel.

Mouthfeel is medium with great carbonation levels.

Overall this may be my new favorite fruit brew from New Glarus. It's slightly tart as advertised but nowhere near Belgian Red or Raspberry Tart levels. The different fruits work so well together. I will definitely be buying much more of this brew and hope that it works its way into a somewhat regular rotation in years to come.

Poured from a 750 ml into a Lost Abbey chalice.

A- pours a dark amber with a 1 finger off-white head. Small trails and blotches of lacing remain on the glass.

S- nice green apple aroma at first closely followed by cherries.

T- sweet and tart cherries followed by green apples and the cranberries are there at the finish.

M- light body and medium carbonation. Slight syrupy feel with perfect amount of carbonation makes this insanely drinkable.

O- another amazing fruit beer from NG. The fruits blend perfectly together to give mouthwatering flavors and a very nice aroma.

Poured from a wax sealed 750ml bottle into a champagne flute.

A - Pours a ruby red color with a small off white head that fades quickly.

S - The initial, tart smell really gets the saliva going. I could also pick up the smell of crisp apples and sour cherries.

T - Much like the nose, the initial sip is a bit tart, but balanced very nicely by the sweetness on the finish. Exactly as you would expect, the taste is of crisp apples, sour cranberries, and juicy cherries. Very tasty and refreshing!

M - The carbonation is fine and champagne-like, allowing the flavors to really burst in your mouth. Slightly dry and sweet all at the same time.

O - I enjoyed this just as much or more than the Belgian Red. This one is a little bit more sour and tart, but the flavors really blend together nicely. After drinking this, I only wish I had another bottle...

A ruby hued brew with a ring of tan foam around the edge of the glass.

Huge fruit laden nose with cherries and cranberries standing out the most.

Apple cider up front with the ripe cherries coming through in the middle portion and cranberry tartness and dryness on the end. Incredible how all three fruits can be picked out separately. Nice fruit sweetness with lower tartness.

Lighter feel with low carbonation and an extremely dry finish, which I would guess comes from the cranberries.

This may very well be my favorite fruit beer from New Glarus. All of them are so well done and this is just a unique twist for a fruit beer and it works wonderfully.

Deep reddish brown color, slightly hazed. Minimal white head that doesn't have much retention.

A heavy fruity aroma is dominated by cranberries and apple cider. It's the perfect aroma for a fall evening. Sweet cherries finish it off.

It has a fantastic tug of war between sweet and tart. The apples contribute a sweet cider flavor followed by the cherries and vinegar. The finish is long and strong, and all cranberry sauce. It's the perfect medley of all three fruits.

Mouthfeel is medium and acidic. Great carbonation.

True to form, it's another superb fruit beer by New Glarus. It's extremely drinkable and complex.

a beautiful deep amber in color, clean pour, finger of detergent like head. smells of delicious sweet fruits and candy. cherry, apple, grape, cranberry. sweet and tart fruits hit your palate right away! as wonderful as the belgian red and raspberry tart.. almost like a combination of both. cherries, apples, cranberries are all present. as sweet as a lollipop. light to medium body, nicely carbonated, very sweet and tart.

an excellent one from new glarus. kinda glad there was a cherry shortage in order to have this! honestly not THAT different from belgian red, but it is slightly less artificial "candy" tasting and more on the delicious sweet fruit sugars.

New Glarus Serendipity

Poured into a tulip glass from a 750ml bottle.

Pours a very nice dark copper color with some nice Amber notes and some slight ruby red notes. There is a nice slightly off-white head that forms with nice dense and tight bubbles. It recedes fairly quickly. (4.5)

Aroma starts off sweet and tart. There is some nice candy sugar sweetness in the nose with notes of cherry and some other berry sweetness. Very mild tartness in the nose can be perceived. There are some nice notes of sweet apple and pear juice mixed in with the berry and cherry tartness. Awesome. (4.0)

The taste blew me away. It is so fresh and fruity. Starts off with some nice sharp tartness. Cherry is perceived then some nice fruit sweetness. Candy sugar notes. I love the fresh fruit sweetness. Apple notes and pear with some nice berry notes as well. There is a nice tart cherry finish and some nice cranberry notes. There is a nice yeast note in the finish that is chalky and slightly phenolic. There are some nice woody notes that are present as the beer warms, almost spicy and cinnamon like. Mouthfeel is crisp and delicious with a smooth finish. (5.0)(4.0)

This is a very good fruit beer. Very nice fruit sweetness and good tartness. The fruit flavors all blend together quite well. (4.0)

Bummer about the cherry shortage putting Belgian Red on hold, but I've been anxious to try this replacement brew. New Glarus makes fantastic beers showcasing each of these three fruits (cherry, apple, cranberry) so it's no surprise this motley crue of a beer delivers an assault of flavor. Cranberry seems most prominent and provides a real nice tartness. Happy to have more of these bottles in the "cellar"

Big thanks to crushedvol and KWMiles for a bottle of this brew...

A: Pours a deep murky red with about a half finger of off-white colored head. The foam settles quickly, and there is a small amount of lacing left on the glass as it drinks.

S: The nose is big apple, with a good helping of cherries. It says this beer is made with cranberries, but I can't specifically pull this scent out from the nose. There is also that familiar New Glarus twang to it.

T: The beer starts out sweet with a generous helping of apples, a good amount of tart cranberry, and some solid cherry notes. Although I couldn't pull out the cranberries in the nose, they are pretty evident in the taste. The New Glarus house yeast is there, and I get a touch of vanilla on the back end.

M: Medium bodied beer. It's sweet and coating, a bit sticky, and the flavors linger on the palate for a while after the beer has moved off the palate.

O: Excellent fruit beer. I think this is the best one that New Glarus has made. It's like a mix of the apple ale, the cranbic, and the Belgian Red. All three flavors work together quite nicely. Apple is the dominate flavor, but they all play off one another. Would love to drink more of this on the regular.

HF wine glass

A: Clear ruby reddish color. Initially about a finger of off white head. Formed a collar of bubbly goodness. Leaving some lacing bits. Seems to have nice carbo.

S: Smells delicious. Fruit bomb. Initially got tons of the cranberry flesh. Then when I swirled I pulled that apple and cherry in too. Some tartness is certainly there. Like other NG beers, doesn't smell fake.

T: Tart cherry up front on the tongue, then you get that sweet fruit character. It's awesome stuff. Pulling all aspects here. Prickly carbonation. Just delicious fruit goodness. Pulling that cranberry and apple on the back end. Finish is dry like a champagne.

M: Light to medium. Solely because of the fruit and sweetness. Other than that, light beer.

Thanks to jegross2 for this bottle! Reviewed from notes. Poured from 750mL waxed bottle into a 7venth Sun snifter glass.

A: Clear dark red, with a great amount of visible carbonation and a thin off-white head.

S: Ummm...like fruit juice. Almost like cranapple, but sweeter and yet tarter. Maybe some honey floweriness as well.

T: Follows the nose. Definitely tart but only a bit puckering. Cranberry first, then apple with hints of tart cherry. Tartness follows you into the hang.

M: Light bubbly body, low alcohol presence.

O: Really tasty. Wouldn't be a beer that I would choose to drink every day, but at the right time and the right situation this is perfect.

A: Pours a deep ruby red color with a small off white head on top. Decent head retention, leaving a thin cap on top. Minimal lacing.

S: Getting all three fruit flavors on the aroma, with the cherries upfront, cranberries in the middle, and a really nice apple aroma on the finish. Very fruit, similar to other NG fruit beers, very inviting.

T: Again, a very nice blend of all three fruits, with a bit more of an assertive cherry flavor upfront, a bit less cranberry and a smooth apple finish, sort of a cider/apple juice blend flavor. Right after the apple is a slight mouth pucker tartness.

M: Medium bodied and smooth, extremely drinkable, just like Raspberry Tart and Belgian Red.

O: Fantastic, right up there with the other NG fruit beers.

Poured into snifter. Came with a quarter inch head which dissipated quickly. Little lacings around the glass. Beer had a strong fruity aroma, I smelled both cranberries and apples. Very tart. It appeared dark red, kind of like cranberry juice with the exception that it had moderate froth and lacings.

The taste was very tart - like cranberry cocktail juice and yet very sweet. I noted highlights of different fruits as I tasted it - for certain there were cranberries and apples. While it was fruity, it had a nice malty background which is a reminder to me that it's a beer, not juice nor fruity wine. It's a 1 pint and 9 fluid oz. bottle, yet very drinkable and I did not share this (there wasn't anyone to share with anyway). A relaxing beer to enjoy both during the day (it's only 4% ABV) and in the evening hours. Enjoy!

Appearance: About two bubbly fingers of very light red head on the pour. Outstanding carbonation throughout. Dark apple red color with some slight tints of orange. Creamy lacing crept down the glass as a enjoyed every drop.

Smell: Apples, apples, apples. Some balanced tartness from the cranberries really adds some kick to the aroma. Some light sweetness from the cherries but they are not a major player.

Taste: Smooth apples hit right on the front. A seamless transition to the cranberries blast through in the body and do not let your palette rest. The sweetness is very much kept in check to keep it from having an over the top artificial taste. The finish is some dried fruit which is so pleasant on the palette.

Mouthfeel: Light and refreshing fruit. Light to medium boded with a moderate lasting sweetness.

Overall: Perfect fruit beer. Wow New Glarus again knocks this completely out of the park. Perfect for a spring afternoon.

Appearance - Medium/dark brownish-red. Clear. Medium tall pale red head. Quickly dissipates into a thin film.

Smell - Sweet-tart cherries. Hints of the other fruits - apple and cranberry.

Taste - Begins very sweet with the cherry very prominent and finishes quite tart with a suggestion of cranberry. Apple flavor lingers. Taste is utterly authentic, captures the earthiness of real cherries.

Mouthfeel - Medium.

Overall - This is another absolute stand-out fruit beer from New Glarus. They seem to have a gift for capturing the authentic flavors of local fruit.

A - Poured a clear light amber with a pink tinge. Rocky beige head with a very slight red to it, settling at a film in the middle with a thicker ring around the rim. Appears to have been filtered. Very little activity around the nucleation site in the Duvel chalice.

S - Sour cherries, vanilla, oak with a very light funk in the background. Sweet apple notes meld with the cherry. Cinnamon spice much more apparent as it warms.

T - A sharp tartness at the beginning; it's nice, not overpowering. Tartness is mostly cherry flavored, but the oak aging has mellowed it out, taking away some of the bite and revealing the flesh of the cherry, which is earthier and more velvety. There's a bit of spice in here that shows up after the initial bite; clove, cinnamon and black pepper. Finishes with a lightly fermented apple, cinnamon and vanilla.

M - Carbonation is medium to low. Tartness burns less as the beer warms.

O - This beer works well both at fridge temp and closer to cellar temp. Poured cold it's reminiscent of sparkling wine, as it warms it gets closer to mulled cider with the spices becoming more pronounced. I drank the whole 750 myself over a period of two hours so I could see different characteristics of the beer evolve as it warmed. If you're going to share it, serve it closer to cellar temp. ABV isn't listed, but I would guess that it isn't very high, maybe 4.5 or 5.5%.

A: Brilliant red-brown with a heavy white head. Nice clarity adds to the experience.
S: Aroma is bursting with fruit. Strawberries, cherries, freshly cut apple, something woody/spicy that reminds me of cinnamon.
T: Cranberries are more evident in the flavor, which opens with a nice tart cranberry/cherry punch tempered by moderate sweetness. The apple shows next and seems to moderate the bracing cranberry and cherry flavors. Finish is abrupt and clean, without any cloying sweetness.
M: Light and fairly spritzy, like the other NG fruit beers.

This was great. In fact, I think I like it better than either of the WI Belgian Red or Rasp Tart. Come on guys, WI is the bounceberry capital of the U.S. Make this a regular.

A: Deep red and slightly opaque with minimal head present.

S: smells of cherries and apples, quite like a cider. refreshing

T: along the nose, hits heavily on apples, grapes, and cherries, but minimal sourness is present. this tastes like a cross between a fruit lambic and a cider.

M: smooth and medium body with good carbonation, a little too sticky.

O: The only fruit beer I've ever enjoyed. Not truly a cider, but not a lambic, simply a nice and unique offering from a Midwest favorite.

750ml capped and waxed bottle, received in the gang bang BIF

Pours out a nice clear deep red color, fairly retentive off white colors head with good lacing.

Big fruit aroma, maraschino cherries seem to be at the forefront. A little apple juice behind that.

Wow, fruit juice! A great tasting beer, lots of fresh apple juice, with some cranberry juice behind. All about the sweet fruit. Just a touch of that new glares earthiness.

Good tartness, mildly sour, light to almost medium in body. Amazing drinkability.

On par with all of the other new glares fruit beers. All about the fruit with some good tart/ sourness, but little to no funk. If someone says they don't like this beer, their lying.

Serendipity pours a reddish color, with a large red head. Alot of sweet aromas, especially cherry. The taste has a blend of sweet fruits, cherry is profound, with hints of the apples and cranberries. Great full flavor, all the fruits blend together, there is no stages of flavors from the fruits. Not overpowering sweet. Overall a fantastic fruit beer.

No freshness dating.

A= Pours a totally translucent deep amber color with a nice off white sort of reddish colored head that holds great retention and lacing on the side of the glass.

S= The smell is big on the apples. Upon opening the bottle I get a bit apple aroma. After the beer is poured and sits in the glass for a moment I get a lot of the cherries and cranberries. Not the sort of puckering cranberries but the cranberry jelly type cranberry aroma. It smells like a natural juice to me. A little bit of a tartness in the nose.

T= As the nose leads on it tastes like a great natural apple juice at first before a nice cranberry flavor comes through with a little cherry to make it just a tad sweeter. The apple still seems to be the main flavor. It almost tastes like a spiced cider. It's not really spiced and it may be the cherries and cranberries but I get a cider sort of taste to it. A slight tartness in there making it an easy going sour.

M= A little lower on the carbonation that works great.

O= This is a world class beer for anyone. From the most novice beer drinker to a seasoned vet this is a beer anyone can drink and say damn that tastes great. It's plain and simple quality ingredients used to make a quality beer. Seek this out and buy many in case they don't make it again.

A: Clear chestnut brown with a very red hue to it. Forms a moderate sized, bubbly, tannish colored head. Decent retention, as it eventually falls to a fairly thick surface coating. Leaves a good bit of lace on the way down.

S: Aroma is full of fresh, juicy fruits, redolent of Belgian Red. Strong cherry, summer berries, and some apple. The smell is sweet, almost candy-like, but not cloyingly so.

T: Flavor brings more of the same, but with more balance. Sweet apple, cherries and raspberry flavors mix with the slightly tart astringency of the cranberries. Finish is surprisingly quick considering the depth of the flavors present here, but the finish is also very clean.

M: Medium in body with a moderate slickness to it. Undeniably sweet, but the tartness creates a balance that ensures this beer is not cloying. Medium carbonation.

O: What can I say? Yet another excellent fruit beer from Dan and Deb.
