Pours a nice, soapy head. Great hefe aroma of banana and clove. AMAZING burnt sienna color. Starts with sweet malt and notes of banana and clove. Hops are definitely taking a back seat as the bready malt builds up to make for a banana bread finish.
Perfect. Sublime. I could drink this all day, every day. When this was out (this is my last bottle), I bought it EVERY time I got a chance. This redefines Kristalweizens for me. NOW I love them as much (or more) than a hefeweizen.

Thanks to Docrock for this bottle!
12 fl oz brown glass bottle poured into a weizen glass, reviewed live:
A - Pours a textbook copper color with a khaki, surprisingly creamy, three finger head. Retention is good, but not noteworthy. Not what I was expecting, but appealing.
S - Banana dominates. Light caramel, candi sweetness, and clove/spice esters are prominant. Moderate in strength. Typical biscuity yeast characteristics are present, if a bit restrained (though that may be true to style.) Inviting, to say the least.
T - Typical but fresh, sweet banana notes open. Lightly toasted and Crystal malts form the body, differentiating it from your typical hefe. I like it. Not bready or doughy. Light spice throughout, though I'd be hard pressed to identify them. The caramel throughout is a nice touch.
M - Crisp, chewy, smooth, and refreshing. Nearly ideal.
D - This is the first beer I've had in the style. A departure from your typical wheat offering, but definitely worth a go. I'd have it again.

12oz bottle with no date. bought on a recent trip to the land of the cheeseheads
pours semi-cloudy amber-gold, smell is like a straight hefe- clove, wheat, coriander, some cinnamon as well. taste is an extremely bright, fruity, crisp take on a hefe. apple, pear, and tangerine fruit notes round out the clove and wheat hefe taste. slight cloying feel, light, well carbonated.
Great easy drinkin' wheat beer with terrific flavor. Well done New Glarus!

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass
A- Nice amber/dark orange color. Very clear with a 3 finger white head.
S- Wheat, Clove, Banana, Sweet smell. Smells very similar to dancing man just a little cleaner.
T- Very similar to smell, lots of clove. Basically a lighter, cleaner dancing man. Really nice Kristalweizen to introduce me to the style.
M- Light and clean all the way through with some great carbonation.
O- Another solid offering from New Glarus. I'm still of the opinion that they do not make a bad beer. If you want all the flavors of a great hefeweizen with a lighter body, seek this out.
