12oz bottle into a pint glass. This was an extra in a recent trade and seemed like a good one to open ASAP.

The beer looks nice in the glass. There's hints of orange and gold in the honey colored body, and the beer is brilliantly clear with tons of active carbonation. The white head that surged upon pouring quickly subsided to just a ring of white foam with some moderate soapy lace. The could be a bit more head retention, but the color and clarity are spot-on.

As I raise the pint glass to my nose, the first thing I encounter is some mild citrus hops and general fruity disposition. The are notes of orange peel, lemongrass and grapefruit, but they're kept in check and balanced out by some grassy, flowery hops and solid malt presence. The malt is sweet and a touch bready, with some mild wheat husk and caramel.

There's something very refreshing about this beer, both literally and in comparison to many of the over hopped or unbalanced APA's in the market today. This beer has good flavor while remaining very drinkable and light. Some initial grapefruit bitterness peaks with notes of lemongrass and peach tea and then fades into lightly toasted malt with biscuit notes and a nice burst of carbonation takes the flavor roller coaster back to the station. Moon man has notes of grass and orange that finish the experience and linger. Sure this could pack more flavor, but the finesse is a pleasant angle for this beer.

The mouthfeel is appropriate for the style, as the light bodied beer has nice carbonation and comes off as crisp and light. The bitter peak is well covered by the malt and only a touch of sweetness and hint of bitterness remains through a clean finish. The beer could have just a touch more body, but the drinkability is enhanced by the light feel. A nice change of pace from the stouts and hop bombs I've been enjoying this winter. I've heard of lawnmower beers, but this was my snowblower beer today.
