12 oz bottle. The beer is a nice deep straw to light orange color with a very nice 3 fingers of thick white head over top that falls very slowly to a finger over top. This brew is certainly cloudy, with tons of yeast in suspension. This one is a damn fine looking hefe. The aroms is dominated by spicy clove ester initially. As it warms, a ton of sweet banana and bubblegum come flowing it, with a subtle wheat creamyness. On the end there is a distinct whiff of alcohol telling me this one is packing some punch. The flavor hits with a very solid creamy wheaty flavor with a very dominant clove spiceyness with the banana fruityness bringing up the aftertaste. I like the solid malt base and the dominance of the spicey ester over the fruity. Mouthfeel is ever so smooth, with a tangible creamy character. At the start of this one, there was a fairly strong carbonation, but now that I'm almost through it, there is little bubble to be felt. I am not sure drinkability could be any better on this one. It has all the flavor and aroma one could ask for in a hefe. For over 7%, the only hint was a puff in the nose, and the nice feeling I find washing over me. This one is damn nice.

A-Bright yellow/orange color...perfect amount of head on top...

S-Ripe banana's....vanilla...sweet wheat malt....a little bit of lemons...and some cloves....has it all....great aroma..

T-Sweet and rich....big on the flavor....overripe bananas and vanilla lead the way along with the sweet wheat malt....finishes with a perfect hit of lemon drops...very sweet and rich tasting....blows the German hefe's out of the water in the richness of its taste...

M-This is a bigass Hefe...really a double hefe...err Imperial Hefe...carbonation is spot on...

D-I love this beer but it borders on being too rich and sweet. Earlier I mentioned how it blows the german hefe's out of the water with its sweet rich flavor....perhaps some would prefer it to be a little less sweet and flavorful...it is really saeet...I could drink more of Ayinger Hefe at a given time but if I had to chose one bottle I would definitely pick this....top notch brew....New Glarus hits another home run...

A solid, glowing golden orange in color, 2cm fluffy white head that was there until after the last drop and left but a few whisps of lacing. Lots of active carbonation. This beer is packed with aroma, you don't even have to put your nose to it to start smelling it. Fruity esters jump out at you right away, bananas, cloves, lemon zest, bubble gum. The bottle also suggests some cinnamon notes which was there too upon deeper reflection along with a bit of pepper. Rich wheaty malt with some bready yeast. Outstanding.

Many parts of the aroma were very distinct and vibrant, and the same goes for the taste. Plenty of banana and clove typically associated with hefes, wheaty and lemony zest. Some yeasty bready notes. A lot of lively esters in this beer, tangy mouthfeel with nectarines and peaches also showing up on the fruity bill for this beer.

Overall: I have never been to Bavaria, but damn, I want to try a hefe better than this. I am really not sure that is possible. I had heard a buzz about this beer before I tried it, so I had pretty high expectations for my first one and I was blown away. Wow, I think the word vibrant is probably the best term to describe the flavors in this one. And WTF is with the 7.2%? I had no clue until the next day when I went to review it.

a: Fluffy dirty white head slowly falls back. The beer is a super cloudy amber-golden in color. Okay retention and I'd really like some lacing, but I love the color.

s: Great balance of sweet wheat and barley notes with the load of smelly yeast that is quite visibly within. Nice clove and smashed overripe banana, and even a light smoky note. Dripping with fresh malt and yeast, really nice. Not so much on the citrus end, which is much appreciated.

m: medium-high carbonation and a medium body...a little heavy for a hefe, but I like that

t: Generous chalky, yeasty flavors and a load of Wisconsin grains giving a well balanced sweetness. Notes of clove and banana bread stand out but are well integrated. Lightly hopped with a gentle bitterness and clean, flavorful finish that lasts and lasts. Really, ummm, hearty in flavor for a hefeweizen (good thing).

d: Easy, as expected...even on the high end of the average hefeweizen ABV. Would be a staple if available.

A great looking brew. Orange tinted straw coloured, with a big bad ass 4 finger off white head, from a fairly vigorous pour that included swirling the contents at the end to get the yeast in my glass. Nice heard retention, and thick sheets of almost clingy lacings grace the glass.

A nice nose as well on ths hefe. A touch more cinnamon than clove, then a nice rich ripe bananna aroma appears. Pale and bready malts with solid wheat accents also evident.

Wow, this is bananna cream pie in a bottle! Creamy, slightly sweet bananna, yeasty spice of cinnamon and clove, then the crusty flavours appear from the pale malts and wheat, with a mild huskiness also present. Nicely and mildly hopped with mild hints of lemon and green grass.

A very creamy medium bodied hefe. A nice balance is struck between the grains, yeast phenolics, and the hops. Tasty spice notes and big creamy bananna nicely compliment the other flavours without being too assertive.

Very refreshing and drinkable. The only thing that keeps this from being sessionable is its unnoticed 7.2% ABV. Should appeal to anyone who likes hefes and or bananna bread. Hear its almost all been distributed, if you cant get it this year better look for it next year. I know ill be looking forward to its release again.

A-Nice, airy, snowy-white head greeted this beer wonderfully and left decent lacing on the glass. A slightly hazy, bright copper body laid beneath the foam.

S-Awesome, raw yeast aroma. This one almost has an oaky, farmhouse funk to it. A sweet citrusy smell leads to a spicy linger.

T&M-A heavy yeast spice is immediately followed by a full-mouthed wheat body. The malts a perfectly blended with the explosion of yeast flavor. Obvious Banana and Juicy Fruit characteristics shine brightly. Their is almost a chamomile hint in this. Hops are hard to detect at all, but nicely ignored. A rich, nutty, grainy, finish balances well with the dryness that is produced from the yeast.

D-If this is truly 7.2%, this is leathal! A hefe of this caliber can be consumed so easily in the hot Wisconsin summer, that it is almost a crime.

This could easily be one of the best NGs to surface in quite a while. I still miss the Black Wheat, but I will drown my sorrows in the Dancing Man.

From bottle pours to a nice head, which releases some of the most intense Bavarian wheat-style aromas from this side of the Atlantic Ocean. Has all the good flavor that the aroma promises, right up there with the other top hefe's. It is a pleasure to have in your mouth, but if you drink a few you could imagine that it would start to be a little thick and the punch it packs at 7.2% abv would go straight to your dancing shoes.

a: unfiltered orange color with an inch of head that doesnt dissapear too fast and leaves some lacing
s: biscuity malts, deffinate aroma of bannana and cloves very inviting, strong wheat aroma
t: a lot of flavor, some of the hefe's ive had didnt have this much flavor, cloves and banana here
m: medium to full bodied beer with a lot of carbonation

overall wow, this is a really good hefe, probablythe best one I've had

A - Golden orange with a thick white head.

S - Aroma consists of banana, spicy clove, a touch of vanilla, yeast and wheat malt.

T - A hearty wheat malt front exhibits flavors of clove and banana. The flavor seems a little phenolic in the middle where there's a strong yeast presence that follows. A little odd, but non-the-less it doesn't detract too much from the overall enjoyable of the beer.

MF - Full-bodied mouthfeel.

D - This is as close as it comes to a classic example of the style. Straightforward and enjoyable. If you're a fan of hefe weizens then this is a must try. Nice summer offering.

appearance: poured into a large hefe glass...nice orange-apricot body with a foamy beige cap that retains itself well throughout the beer. nice clean and fresh looking hefe

smell: strong wheat and hay aromas, powerful clove, moderate banana levels, bready, clean and soapy...pretty much on point

taste: this is a very good hefe...the banana is delicious but not too strong as many are - comes through in nutty banana bread way...strong clove, if the abv is accurate then theres no way you can tell by tasting. it does feel a little bigger and heavier than the norm but nothing that doesnt work. cant ask for much more, and to think i bought this figuring it would just be average

mouthfeel: as noted, this feels a little bigger/heavier...still fresh, clean and crisp with a nice spice

drinkability: good

A cloudy pumpkin-hued liquid rests beneath a modest ashy white froth.
The nose is bombastic, full of bruised bananas, lemon, clove, and cinnamon, all in High Definition. Maybe it is not the most dynamic smelling, but it is one of the most precise. And fucking loud for a hefe.
Perfection for the style, and that will be a recurring theme.
Begins with that familiar wheaty sense of grain, that when done in substance and girth, always suggests oatmeal to me. Banana and lemons and vanilla pods stampede in, and only recede with the subsequent forceful explosions of clove and ginger and cinnamon. Peppery too, but more as a tag-along, as all the other flavors demand more attention, and vie for control.
Washes out similarly, with the banana and lemony fruity cadre swashbuckling for superiority against the spicy contingent.
Medium bodied, and pushing thicker with a suggestion of whipped cream. All this is ushered down the throat with a strident bead that ensures it purpose as a summer refresher.

Flavorwise, this is a hefe-weizen concentrate. Nothing new. Nothing unusual. Just bolder and better than probably any version I've ever had.

It doesn't change the game, it just etches it's name in the history books.

This is the fucking real thing, even if you don't think hefes can impress.

Four fingers of foam billow up to the rim of the weizen glass. Color is a murky, translucent orange, with lazy streams of carbonation idling upwards. Foam settles, creating a soufflé like effect. Irregular webs of lace cling to the sides of the glass.

Immediately there's a big banana aroma, very fresh and ripe. On par with Weihenstephaner in my opinion. Fresh wheat and yeast esters are large in the equation.

On the palate, it's very smooth, almost buttery. Wheat slickness, with bursting banana, clove, & nutmeg. Some residual orange sweetness accompanies the yeast in the aftertaste. Very satisfying, drink it by the liter in the summertime!

Everything about this Hefe says traditional Bavaria. In a blind tasting it would be very difficult to identify this a domestic Hefeweizen.

I poured this bottled beer into a pint glass. A nice, solid white foam formed, and a thin head remained for quite some time. The dancing man wheat has nice foggy golden color. The beer is very, very tasty with a fair amount of spice. This also makes the beer very good smelling.

A- Golden extremely foggy, 1/2 inch white head pretty good lacing
S- citrusy wheat lemony flavor
T- a lemony wheat ale that tastes really good. has a really nice finish too, smooth, a little clover and cinnamon provide a nice texture to the wheatiness
M- Sharp carbonation, slightly creamy body
D- a very good wheat beer with high drinkability
