Pours dark brown with a reddish tint. A creamy, persistant, almost tan head sits on top. Nice clarity and lacing.
Malty. Slightly toasty and caramel notes. Maybe some chocolate.
Toasty malty flavor. Sweet, but not cloying. Chocolate has an edge over the caramel, and really comes out when it warms. Slight hop balance, but no real hop flavor.
Medium to full malty body. Moderate carbonation. Very smooth with a finish that is much cleaner than you might expect from these sweet flavors.
Really enjoyed this one. One of the better Bocks I've tried.
