12oz. bottle poured into a nonic pint glass.
It pours a brilliantly clear amber with a generous white head that dies down to a nice layer of bubbles protecting the beer underneath. There is a medium amount of lacing on the sides as I drink the beer.
A nice citrus/orange aroma is what hits me first. It is then followed by a nice bready and crystal malt sweetness. It seems very balanced for an IPA.
Smell is much like the nose in that the citrus type hops hit me first. The bitterness is a tad on the harsh side but balances very well with the residual sweetness from the malts. This is one of the more balanced IPA's I've had and I personally prefer balanced. It is full bodied and kind of chewy. The carbonation is medium and contributes to the beer not having much of a harsh bitter aftertaste.

A very orange beer, you didn't see this color in Midwest beers too often if at all back when this hit shelves for the first time. The dry hopping wasn't huge, but it was a shift in direction for this region.
Taste was a nice drier toasted pale malt bill paired with hops beyond your usual 6% midwest ipa. Very little caramel, this paired toast with green veggie hops. Its pretty straightforward and easy drinking around the 50ibu range. I really liked it.
