Notes:
Treat yourself to a rare delight. The voluminous raspberry bouquet will greet you long before your lips touch your glass. Serve this Wisconsin framboise very cold in a champagne flute. Then hold your glass to a light and enjoy the jewel-like sparkle of a very special ale.
Oregon proudly shares their harvest of mouth watering berries, which we ferment spontaneously in large oak vats. Then we employ Wisconsin farmed wheat and year old Hallertau hops to round out this extravaganza of flavor.

Poured from a waxed 750 ml bottle into a tall New Glarus Signature Pilsner Glass.
Appearance: Pours a deep amber ruby red with a lot of bubbles sticking around the glass. About two fingers of off white head that fade into a thin patchy layer. Lacing is fairly light.
Smell: As expected a big aroma of raspberries. Sweet raspberry with a moderate tartness. Hints of yeast, biscuit, and caramel malt. Light hints of oak and vanilla. Some brown sugar. Light presence of earthy hops. Fairly jammy and slightly sour. Seems like a simple straight ahead aroma but it is pretty good.
Taste: Like the aroma hints, but even better. A huge taste of raspberry fruit juices that is the dominate note. Some soft bready malts with hints of caramel and biscuit. Also a light taste of oak and vanilla along with some brown sugar . Light earthy hop presence in the background. Tastes sweet but it isn't overly syrupy or cloying. The sweetness, syrup, and sourness is kept in check pretty well. Really nice fruity jam taste. Nothing tastes artificial.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Chewy, juicy, and slightly sticky and syrupy.
Overall: A really great fruit beer. Huge real fruit flavor and the sweetness and tartness isn't overbearing. Has a decent body to it so it isn't really a quick drinker. Take the time to enjoy the raspberry.

Tart, fizzy, and a little bit sour. Like a jolly rancher in a glass. Too sweet for daily drinking, but makes a great dessert beer. Especially if you like your dessert first. Wish there was more bitter and less berry in this, but would still seek this out for a special occasion pour.

Thanks to ActonBrewer for this one! Reviewed from notes. Poured from wax-sealed bomber into Peg's snifter.
A: Dark amber in color with a hint of red. Forms a one and one-half finger pinkish white head on top of a good amount of visible carbonation.
S: Sour, tangy, fruity, and some sweet malt. Not an overall strong aroma but what's there is pleasant.
T: Much stronger than nose. Tart raspberry, dark fruity, and tangy. Almost like raspberry pie filling, or I suppose, a raspberry tart (although I've never had one). Fruity tartness in the hang.
M: A bit chewy on the mouthfeel. Decent carbonation sensation and is a heavier body than expected. Minimal alcohol presence.
O: A bit on the sweet side for an everyday drinker, but thoroughly enjoyable. Well-made beer, and one I would highly recommend trying.

The beer pours a clear crimson amber with a thin head that fades quickly. The nose is vegetal with a potent raspberry sweetness...without any indication of alcohol or tartness. The taste is just as sweet as the nose, but much more tartness finally presents itself. The aftertaste (proceeding the mouthwatering tartness) is malty and sweet. This beer doesn't resemble cough syrup, which is an added bonus! A slight yeastiness complements the beer's sweet nose and taste. It's a light bodied, drinkable, framboise-like beer that's slightly lacking in carbonation, but has sufficient malt characteristics to remind me this is actually a "beer" I'm drinking. I don't understand why this beer is quite so raved about, but I think it closely resembled blushing monk (which I prefer more) and is worth trying.

Bomber poured into a flute
Pours an amber red color with a very small quick fading white head. Smells of sour fruits and not much else. Very sweet smelling. Taste is pretty fruit forward but some sour funk is present as well. Mouthfeel is medium with decent carbonation. Overall this is very unique. Very enjoyable and delicious.

750 ml into a pint
A - Brown with amber to ruby highlights. Little bits of brown yeast and a strong mocha colored head formation. Breaks down to a film rather quickly.
S- Raspberry is the name of the game, smooth and earthy rather than bright and sweet. Nice and deep, not over the top.
T - starts off with the full on raspberry flavors, bittersweet, nice and tangy. Mid-stream gets more of the raspberry, which then finishes with the raspberry. Nothing to hind here. This one sat in the cellar for a while so it is clear this beer holds these flavors well.
M - Moderate body, light carbonation. lots of sugary sticky flavors from all the sweetness.
O/D - Hard to classify beer. If you want a raspberry beer, you've got it here - this thing does it so well that it has to surpass any of those expectations. Of course New Glarus is known by this, so the result makes sense.

Raspberry Tart pours a clear cherry red with a fizzy white head. The foam dissolves quickly leaving no lace on the glass.
The aroma is sweet and loaded with raspberry. It has a touch of cinnamon mixed in.
Each sip of this light to medium bodied beer is smooth and oily with light carbonation. The flavor is sugary sweet raspberry with some cinnamon mixed in. It's tart with a dry finish. Once gone the raspberry flavor lingers on the palate.
This beer is dessert in a glass. It's very fruity and mildly tart.

Reviewed from notes.
Pours out a clear dark ruby color with a short-lived fizzy pink single finger head, no lacing.
The aroma and flavor are both just chock full of jammy delicious freshly-crushed raspberry goodness with a smaller amounts of oak tannins complete with vanilla, caramel drizzle, and softened warm brown sugar tones. The Hallertau floral tones seem to be acting as raspberry amplifiers. Smooth, almost creamy (it must be the pectins) texture and gentle carbonation. Sweet and tart in equal amounts, but with absolutely minimal acidity.
Very much a dessert beer, and one of the best out of all of the dessert beers I've ever had. It also has the typical New Glarus signature style of making something exceptional by using an insanely dialed-in balance between relatively few (or minimalistic) flavor and aroma components.

Notes from the 2012 BC Trailer Tasting Camping Tour with Rutager.
A: Cloudy red liquid with cream coloured head.
S: Raspberries, yeast and sour funk.
T: Raspberries up front, but underneath there was a sour funk taste that I could only describe as fish guts.
M: Medium viscosity and carbonation.
O: The funk ruined this beer for me, I thought the bottle may have been ruined; but Rutager didn't pick up on the fishy taste I was getting in the finish. Oh well.

Review No. 500
Raspberry Tart, green glass 750ml with red waxed cap. Split into wine glasses with my equally giddy bride. Can't wait to try this one; Aaron, you are the man...
A: Dull red with hints of gold, chill haze. Pours with a robust head but that fizzles loudly away leaving behind some lacing.
S: Raspberries and sweet malt, brown sugar, bready, sweet, moderate tartness, light oak earthiness, graham cracker, dessert.
T: Raspberry tart, dessert, creamy, light oak, berries. Very pleasant fruit notes, sweetness and tartness.
MF: Pleasant carbonation, elegant lighter body with a tartness in the middle of the mouthfeely and a lightly dry viscous finish.
O: Simply awesome stuff. At 4% abv, with these flavors, I would drink this beer all the time if I had access to it.
Got to give laymansbeerfan a HUGE THANKS for hooking me up with so many of these wants. This one was a real treat and worthy of my 500th review.

Poured from a 750ml bottle into a tulip.
A: Pours a dark amber-ish color with a purple-red hue with nice 2finger white head. Minor lacing decent retention.
S: Really just a mild smell of sweet raspberries with a bit of tart.
T: Raspberries! Just tart, moderately sweet raspberries.
M: Thin with plenty of carbonation. Has that fizzy almost changeable like feel.
O: Delicious. This is, the fruit beer. If you've had other's and enjoyed them, do yourself a favor, go to Wisconsin (or trade with someone) and buy a few of these. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

Appearance- Pours a gorgeous dark ruby red with a thin film of bubbles on the top.
Smell- It smells a little raspberry snow cone to me which is the only thing that kept it from getting a five overall. Still pleasant but not quite what I hoped for.
Taste- My worries on the nose faded right away when I tasted it. Sweet pure raspberry at first that finishes tart and dry. Delicious!
Mouthfeel- Thin and almost champagne like.
Overall- Not sure why I've never had this before being from Wisconsin but it will become a regular in the rotation

Pours hazy red tinged brown. Not much head to speak of. Some bubbles of carbonation abound.
Strong raspberry aroma although smells more artificial than fresh. Not really much beyond this.
Again strong artificial raspberry character. Slightly tart and finishes a little oaky and dry. Not really many flavors outside of raspberry.
Medium mouthfeel. A bit sticky with very tingly carbonation.
Doesn't really do it for me. I enjoyed Belgian Red a bit more, but feel these are both overrated a bit. Not horrible, but sort of like drinking fruit juice and not terribly complex.

I tried this two bottle on back to back nights and with the score for the fresh bottle.
This is a bottle that a friend picked up last month.
A: A light ruby red with an off-white tinted a slight red. The persistent rocky head settles to a cap but never goes away and leaves lacing on the glass.
S: Just about the most amazing thing I've ever smelled. The very strong raspberry aroma dominates with a moderate malt. The berry aroma doesn't stop and there are other lighter fruit notes of strawberries and rhubarb at moderate levels. There is a very faint vanilla aroma in the background.
T: Enormous amounts of fresh raspberry flavor like a fresh sorbet. There is a moderately-light sweetness but the balance is tart with a moderate tartness and a very light sourness.
M: Moderately-light bodied with a a moderately-high level of carbonation.
O: This is fruit beer that makes people who don't enjoy fruit beers beg their friends to pick up a couple bottles next time their in Wisconsin. A world class raspberry Lambic for adults and can't think of anything else I'd want changed in the beer.
This is a bottle I bought while visiting Madison in November 2011.
A: A bright and clear red darker than a like a rose champagne.
The head is off-white almost very light tan with just a slight hit of pink having a good retention. It does settle after a couple minutes to a ring of foam with a large raft and a quick swirl revives it. 4.0/5
S: A big hit of freshly muddled raspberry at first, but with age the raspberry aroma comes down enough to smell something else unlike when it was fresh. There is some moderately light malt and dark fruit aromas coming along with a little something else like a very light sourness. Still no hops nor diacetyl. 4.0/5
T: Tons of fresh raspberries with a with moderate tartness and a light sourness balanced by a light sweetness. No noticeable hops bitterness nor flavor. 4.5/5
M: Soft and fluffy with a medium light body and a fine moderately-high carbonation level. There is some slickness on the palate. 4.0
O: The berry flavors and aroma have become muted with age definitely more pronounced in the younger bottle. Still an amazing raspberry ale with what seems more like an Oud Bruin than a Lambic base style. 4.5/5

750ml bottle into tulip. Special thanks to biglobo8971 for this.
A- Dark red pour with a little brown in the mix, half finger tight bubble off white head. Lacing is minimal.
S- Raspberries and strawberries right up front, with some rhubarb and cinnamon in the back. There is a touch of dough in there making it smell like a fresh baked pie.
T- Tart raspberries, sweet strawberries and cherries with a touch of rhubarb. There is a slight spice in the finish. Makes your cheeks tingle.
M- Light side of medium body, a touch syrupy, carbonation is low.
O- This is very good, should probably have split it but I'm selfish like that lol. The syrupy feeling makes it feel a little heavier than it is but you get past it really quickly.

750ml bottle, review is from notes.
Pours a nice raspberry red color, slightly off white head atop the beer, recedes quickly, fairly bubbly complexion to the beer, no lacing to speak of. The nose is incredible, raspberry, raspberry and more raspberry. Could be a pie filling, it's also jammy, pungent, tart, sweet, effervescent, but more importantly, ever so inviting. The flavors are nice, overpowering raspberry, the flavor is natural, but the sweetness and tartness skews it down towards something from a can or a raspberry syrup, just a hint of malt on the back end rounds out what could be an exceptionally delicious pie. I think that the raspberries are just a bit too dominent and overboard that it comes off a bit harsher and not quite as refined as it could. The mouthfeel is good, crisp yet juicy, just enough bubbles.
Verdict: Damn delicious stuff. One of the best fruit beers around, it almost drinks like fruit juice, but on a hot day, or really on any day you are looking for something different, this is spot on.

Bottle from mscarpen, 750ml into a tulip. Thanks a ton Scott!
Dark red body with a white head, light film and some bubbles retain. Nose is just - wow. Raspberry and rhubarb jam/pie filling. Just like a friggin' pie. A bit of spicing too, but the fruit presented is just brilliant. Tastes just about the same, raspberry and rhubarb pie, light spicing, sweet raspberry juice and some pie-like notes. Gentle tartness in the finish with some peripheral spicing. Medium body, low carbonation. Raspberry hangs around for some time. Overall, brilliant - easily the best fruit beer I've ever had.

Poured from a bottle into a Goose Island chalice
A: Pours a deep ruby brown color. There is a thin pinkish tinted tan head which quickly fades.
S: Lush notes of raspberry are complemented by a caramel sweetness. A mild tart scent is present.
T: Very strong raspberry flavor. Incredibly sweet and sugary. A strong tart finish makes the all the sweet flavor more palatable. There is a warm malt flavor in the background that provides some caramel and bread notes.
M: Medium bodied but the syrup character makes it feel pretty full. Mild carbonation but fairly effervescent.
O: A good fruit beer. Borders on cloyingly sweet and fruity but the solid tart flavor is its saving grace.

Thanks to whoever shared this at NoSignsOfPain's bday party
Look: Pours a amber red color with a 1/4 inch pinkish head and ok retention
Smell: Raspberries and more raspberries with a slight sourness
Taste: For me this is where it went wrong. The flavor is overpowering with raspberries and they seem artificial. There is a slight tartness and sourness that accompany the raspberries
Mouthfeel: Just over a thin body and mild carbonation and it felt very syrupy to me and left a stickiness in my mouth that I didnt really care for
Overall: This drinks more like a fruit juice then a beer. This is not what I want when I want to drink a beer sorry but this one just doesnt do it for me

Bottle to tulip glass.
A - Medium to ark amber with a big reddish glow. One finger of dirty white head.
S - Very tart up front. Raspberry puree and a slight pie-crust-like malt sweetness that is similar to Wisconsin Belgian Red.
T - Great mix of sweet and tart with a massive raspberry puree flavor up front. Sweet bready malts provide a second layer of flavour and an almost pie-like flavour similar to but not quite as big as Wisconsin Belgian Red.
M - Medium body, very creamy. Light carbonation. Great mouth feel.

Amber red colour with about a finger of white head, decent retention with a bit of lace on the glass. Smell is full of jammy raspberry, some malt a little bit of grainy yeast is also encountered, lots of tart fruity scents take over. Taste is all raspberry, tart and just on the edge of full blown sour, malt mixes in as well imparting flavours of a raspberry tea almost, you can almost taste the grainy raspberry its just that real, lightly funky towards the end of the glass. Medium carbonation, sharp dry feel with a medium body. Really, really good stuff, the fact that this tastes like real handpicked raspberries is outstanding, something I will definitely seek out to have again.

Served in a weizen glass on 6/20/12. Celebration for completing one of my last exams.
A - Slightly opaque creamy pink with 2 finger bubbly rose pink head with excellent retention and good lacing.
S - Raspberry, duh. And a bit of green apple, yeast funk, mint.
T - The sweet raspberries hit the front palate immediately and then a touch of sour, yeasty funk and green apples comes to follow. A bit a breadiness and wheat at the finish, but this is just a showcase of the raspberries.
M - Medium-light body, with high effervescent carbonation with a creaminess.
O - Reminds me quite a bit of the Belgian Red from New Glarus but substitute raspberries for the cherries. These beers are equals in my opinion and I really enjoy the how damn fruity this beer is yet still maintaining a semblance of a beer character.

Thanks to pmoney for this bottle!
A: cloudy light garnet to brown color with a one finger head with very little retention, though it looks well carbonated.
S: raspberry, sweetness, some sourness
T: delicious raspberry with sweetness and some tartness. Not super complex, though. A bit too sweet.
M: undercarbonated by a small amount on the front end, but going down I could feel the soft release of the bubbles. Feel would be better with more carbonation to lighten up the body.
O: quite a good beer, but maybe it's not my style. Overall it's very good, and I would pick it up at the store for certain people and certain events if it were the right price. Very good, but a little too much like fruit juice for me.

Much thanks to AM & CM for sharing this with me
Bottle from somewhere in WI
New Glarus' Raspberry Tart is another excellent fruit beer from this brewery, though I found the Belgian Red to have more robust flavors, I appreciated the more obvious tartness that it has, but thought the dropping-off of the flavors in the back half of the palate was a bit disappointing. Still, an enjoyable fruit-centered ale, which I will be happy to share with others, if obtained, in the future.
Pours a pleasant red to pink foam, composed of medium-sized bubbles, a few centimeters in height. Head dissipates rapidly and leaves little to no lacing. Body is a ruby-brown color, transparent, with plenty of active carbonation running up from the bottom. Looks fine, but nothing exceptional.
Aroma is of raspberries that have been put through a food processor and allowed to sit for a few hours, offering slightly faded sweet fruit esters and a bit of tartness, too.
Taste is primarily of sweetened raspberry juice with a little tartness, all of it losing a bit of emphasis on the latter half of the tasting; perhaps the tongue is less sensitive to these flavors on the back half of the palate. Sweetness from malt and raspberry sugars together, though if I didn't know this was fermented, I wouldn't have suggested it was. Essentially, like a very good, not over-the-top-sweet raspberry soda. Flavor profile isn't quite as robust as Belgian Red, but still good.
Beer is medium-light to light bodied with ample carbonation. Still, the carbonation is not pointed enough to be agitating on the palate, instead it helps move this beer on the palate and prevents it from stagnating. Finish is semi-dry, with plenty of stickiness from residual sugars.

Much thanks to to different traders for this one:
kodymupa & elkhunter36 Thanks gentlemen.
I really liked this one. Poured into a Bruery tulip glass.
Color is lighter than i expected, pink with a hint of white wine.
Smell is hmmm well like it's name tart raspberry.
Taste begins with a mild raspberry flavor coupled with a gentle slap of sour/tart. Fresh! The more I drink the more I pick up its acidity. Still, quite pleasing.
Mouthfell is light, crisp with a warmth slowly growing with the acidity.
Overall a very nice, crisp drink. I can't wait to crack another bottle in the heat of summer.
