Notes:
Treat yourself to a rare delight. The voluminous raspberry bouquet will greet you long before your lips touch your glass. Serve this Wisconsin framboise very cold in a champagne flute. Then hold your glass to a light and enjoy the jewel-like sparkle of a very special ale.
Oregon proudly shares their harvest of mouth watering berries, which we ferment spontaneously in large oak vats. Then we employ Wisconsin farmed wheat and year old Hallertau hops to round out this extravaganza of flavor.

One of the many great brews I got from Hwwty4 in the Secret Santa 08 BIF. Thanks Bill, this is a beer I have long anticipated getting to try and by chance it has turned out to be my 400th review.
At first glance the body of this beer looks very red, almost exactly like a red wine. However, pink notes become noticeable when held up to the light. A pinkish head rises up a little bit but dies down even faster. No retention, head, or lacing sticks around on this one.
The smell is a little sweet, a little tart, but all raspberry. Smells a lot like fresh raspberries, and I can't think of what else I could ask for. A nice smell for sure.
A nice tartness leads off here, pairing puckering sourness with lots of natural tasting raspberry flavor. Next comes more raspberry flavors, but with lots of sweetness. Reminds me a little bit of a juice box actually. If HI-C made a beer, I think it would be this single aspect of Raspberry Tart. This is definitely all raspberry, which I definitely like, being a raspberry fan. The finish however, brings some oak notes into the flavor, which surprises me. The aftertaste is, unsurprisingly, tart raspberry. Tasty beer.
The mouthfeel of the body is light to medium at best. Despite the beer's appearance, it also is pretty well carbonated.
If you like raspberries, this beer is definitely drinkable. The tartness and sweetness come together to balance the beer out, making it rather drinkable. Glad to finally try this one, it was a pleasure.

A: Blood red in color, in the teku it poured a big two finger soft pink head very hazy with lots of bubbles popping up the side of the glass.
S: it smells like a raspberry tart. sour raspberry with a hint of bread. no hops detected on this one.
T: Huge sweet raspberry flavor hits first, as it washes over the tounge the sourness comes out in a mellow refreshing burst. Thats about it! simple and exactly what the name says.
M: High carbonation with a dry finish which emphasisis the sourness.
O: Dan Carry really does magical things with sour/wild beers. I know many beer nerds that say they don't like sours but like any other style you need to have a good example.. this is a great place to start.
