500ml bottle. July 2024 best-by-date poured into willi becher. decent head retention for the style. smell of green apple. less sweet than augustiner. round mouthfeel similar to a pilsner - not thin like some helles tend to be. could be challenging my position as the go-to german helles import.

Tried it on tap in Mikkeler in Berlin. Amazing. Carbonation is funny. Makes it very smooth. Creamy light floral. Great balance bw malt and hops. Short finish. Can drink it all day.. It's like Heineken if it was made right haha.

Pours an inviting pale straw golden with white head. Honey and some light floral noble hop character. Malt character reminds me of Rothaus, honey and light saltine cracker. Hop character is less assertive. Super drinkable. An all dayer.

Poured from the 500 ml bottle, dated BB 05.10.23 into the test glass.
A - Beautiful to look at, clear golden backdrop, meandering carbonation, feeds a thin white cap.
S - Bread crust, grains, with grassy noblehops in near perfect balance
T - Follows the aromatics, with an added hint of lemongrass.
M - Crisp, balanced, not sweet, not bitter. Excellent dry finish
O - A very good Helles that I will be doing my best to find more of

Best Before 05.10.23.
(5th of October)

Moderate pour yields a one inch white head over a classic bright German lager body with slight lacing.

Nose of grass, fresh hay, a bit of spice, and biscuit/toast.

Taste is just aaaahhhh, more than alright, very refreshing and quite deliciously crisp.

Feel is nearly full and very carbonated.

Overall, I'll be enjoying more of these in the near future.

Cheers!

Strong carbonation. Mild citrus notes. Flavor is a bit Grassy with notes of clover honey, but at the same time, isn’t particularly sweet. Very pleasant to drink.

Thanks to bierjurgen for introducing me to this. This is an easy drinker, and refreshing. Nothing outstading other than it’s smooth character. Delicious, taste and aroma of malt, hay, spring meadow. This could easily become my regular.

Pours a clear light yellow with soapy head.

Smell is light and crackery with notes of knäckebröd and citrus.

Taste is light and bready with a solid bitterness. Very clean and crisp with notes of citrus, knäckebröd and a hint of caramel. Refreshing and drinkable.

Moutjfeel is medium, a bit creamy and well carbonated.

Overall, a terrific Helles, made for drinking all day.

Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Pours notably pale gold, clear with a 2mm white head.
S- Very mild, hard to ID anything specific beyond some malts.
T- That's better, bright trad hops coupled with that pleasing rounded sense (malts) one gets from a Helles
F- Solid malts for a lighter ABV% lager. makes for a year-round beer.
O- Very nice indeed. Reminds me of AugustinerBrau Helles, one of my all-time favourite beers. Shows how good a trad beer can be with no gimmicks, weird facets, ingredients or even a single alien on the lable.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the lables to see what I missed! - No surprises there, a very trad German lable.
500ml bottle BB: 24/07/2021 £2.75 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.
ps. The lable is unchanged from that shown above, but note the main colour on the front lable is a bit skewed in this^ image, it is a mid-dark green.

On tap at NW Growlers today.

The beer pours a striking, bright gold color with good head retention and lacing. The nose is attractive as well, as I pick up light honey, pepper and cracker. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely in this enjoyable, malt forward hells. There's decent bitterness in the finish, which really helps to counter the light sweet malt very well. Finish is long and clean in this eminently drinkable hells. Mouthfeel is fairly light, but this beer still delivers plenty of flavor.

Nothing earthshaking here... Just an easy to drink hells that is a pleasure to drink.

De Mikkeller. En copa Teku. Leyendo sobre BPMN. Helles ultrabebible. En cuestión de pocos minutos te encuentras con el vaso vacío. Es increíble. Perfil maltoso pero ligero y fresco, con notas herbales más marcadas de lo habitual en nariz y boca, y sensación en boca que incita a bebersela de un trago
