Served on draught into a Riegele glass in Trento, Italy. Reviewed from notes.
A: Pours a three finger head of slight soft cream, nice thickness, and good retention. Clear yellow colour. Appealing.
Sm: Cream, full expressive barley, well-handled malt, and maybe crystal hops. A moderate strength aroma.
T: Cream is buried. The barley is crisp and refreshing, but not entirely expressive. Very generic and built for simple drinking. It's simple but meant as a table beer to be paired with food.
Mf: Too smooth and wet. What happened to the cream? It doesn't complement the flavours, but seems to conform to mass demand for easy drinking.
Dr: Which it is. The ABV is average, the quality is decent, and it's not bold or inspired. The price at least is fair, even by Italian standards.

500ml. Mindestens haltbar bis: 13.10.11.
It pours a light gold, but slightly lighter than the Ur-Hell (this is my second Riegele helles of the night out of 3).
Unlike the Ur-Hell this one is malty and grainy. More of a caramel/doughy scent comes through. There is a hint of fresh fruit.
The flavor is also much different. This one is maltier but not necessarily sweeter. But it isn’t as bitter. It is very interesting to see a huge difference from one helles to another. The hop notes come in after, but this is a radically different tasting brew. It is bolder, though there is a nice bit f mineral water which is a good accent. It is not watery at all in body.
A bit better.

After hitting the Wasen in Stuttgart on 30SEP09, I made my way back to my Gasthaus in Augsburg. There I opted for a 0.5l bottle of this from the vending machine in the Gasthaus foyer (1.00EU).
Poured a clear, medium golden. Head was off-white, creamy and smooth, rising nicely and lasting well, plus leaving decent lacing. Lightly bready, there are also some earthy and floral hops in the nose, though neither aspect is too forthcoming. No probs with feel, as it's fairly smooth and medium bodied.
Flavor is bready and slightly toasty, laying a little sweetness on the palate. I also find some slight green fruit notes, like pear and apple. There then follows some floral hops and a smidge of spiciness. This latter aspect leaves a distinct aftertaste. A middle of the pack export. Prosit!!

Dark blond in color, few bubbles. Creamy head, some holes in the sides.
The smell is malty, and hopped a bit, but it tends to diminish in intensity. Hints of pepper.
The taste is warm, more than you can expect. It has no freshness and it is not very inviting.
Medium-medium-light body. Malty in the aftertaste, with some points of bitterness.
