One of the traditional Hefeweizen beers of Germany.Pours a light copperish colour with beautifull white head. It doesn't mean that beacause it's traditional it's average. This beer is a hell-of-a-beer

Dark gold-copperish (amber tones) with a low ivory head but good carbonation kept the low head consistent. Wheaty malt aroma with a trace of fruitiness but very low aroma for style. More of a soft malty, nutty, toffee flavor for a hefeweizen. Light bodied, creamy, and effervescent.
Much different than most hefeweizens and not what I think of for a Bavarian Hefeweizen. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad.

This is a very cloudy, light colored beer almost milky or silt-like. The aroma is lightly yeasty and estery. The head is large with big bubbles. Malt sweetness is nicely balanced with tartness and a dry finish. On the whole, its a great beer, but its best characteristics seem understated.

Hazy light copper / orange in hue, covered by an animated, off white head w/ soft peaks. Lively carbonation. Wheat tartness upfront in aroma is immediately ensued by mild clove phenols, and subtle banana esters. Caramel and toasty Munich notes provide a pleasant contrast to the somewhat refined yeast derived estery and musty aroma. Trace bubblegum. Flavorwise, this beer exhibits a fine balance of a toasty, somewhat buttery continental malt backbone, wheat tartness and a relatively subdued banana ester and clove profile for style. A touch thin in body and not quite proteinaceous enough in mouthfeel to support the above average malt character. Finishes with a snap of caramel giving way to lingering, but pleasant grainy wheat tartness. If it weren't for the lack in body, Maisel's Weisse would be outstanding. Regardless, the drinkability is excellent.

This hefe is right up there with Franziskaner IMO, if I had a choise between the two I would be happy with either. Very good deep, hazy appearance and nice foamy white head, this beer leaves a nice lace down the glass also. The only drawback is the aroma, while not bad it had a faint skinky smell to it. But that's not enough for you not to drink it, because it has a nice feel and very good citrus tatse to it. Enjoy this beer anytime I know I do...........CHEERS

1Pt. 9Fl Oz. Bottle. Hazy orange color with a slightly pink head. Ester smell with hints of citrus. A little darker than the Hefe's I've had. There is also a lack of body to the brew.. a little light on the malt I think. It satisfies but does not knock my socks off...

An excellent weizen bier, nice flavour, smooth and well rounded, not as good as weihenstephaner, but still very nice.

I had this fine Hefe at the Mondial de la Biére 2001 in Montreal. This is the real thing and IMHO there's no substitute for it (sorry domestic craft brewers of so called Hefe Weizens). Unfortunately, I haven't seen this one in the US (or at least not in NY) yet.
