This is my new favorite beer. I love Galaxy hopped beer and this on tested so fresh. I drove all over town searching for more but could not find any. I am waiting until next Fall to get more. This is a hop fruit forward beer with light malt and mild bitterness.

Schlafly never fails to wow me with their "special release" beers!
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle to a pint glass, pours a clear golden orange with a half finger off white head, keeps a solid lacing throughout.
A fruity, hoppy aroma stands out that'll make any hop head like myself's mouth water in anticipation.
The taste is much of the same, hops up front followed by mango, peach and citrus. Finishes off with a light maltyness that balances well with the hops.
Mouth feel is slightly resiny /oily.
All and all this is an excellent beer that will be my choice session brew while it is available. Anyone that appreciates hops and a well balanced IPA would love it!

A- Pale yellow with a nice, white head. Ring of foam remains throughout the drink, leaving behind white lacing throughout.
S- Sweet citrus, passion fruit, slight Simcoe-like cat box. Very faint toasted malts, and the faint smell of alcohol.
T- Very sweet passion fruit, and a huge range of citrus. I also catch a bit of a melon flavor in there. The bitterness is smooth and it hangs around. Slight boozy taste as it warms. The slight malt taste eventually starts to come through, but the hops are front and center.
M- Feels sticky and oily, coating the mouth. Feels great, and really enforces that sweet taste.
O- I am a huge fan of this brew from Schlafly. One of the best IPA's I've had to date, as the bitterness isn't oppressive and the hops taste absolutely fantastic. Well done, in my opinion.

Heard great things about this beer so I searched till I finally found a store in Nashville that had a 6 pack.
Appearance: Pours a nice yellowish with tints of orange with a finger of a white head. It's definitely filtered and you can see through it. It's pretty clear.
Smell: Smells wonderful. Sweet hops, tropical fruits, citrus, orange.
Taste - Taste is amazing. Sweet upfront mixed with a slight bitterness, then tropical fruits and a bready/malty taste at the end.
Mouthfeel: Mouthfeel is light to medium. Super drinkable. Would never know this was 7%.
Overall: One of my favorite IPAs ever. So good. I'm always looking for beers similar to Lagunitas Sucks and this isn't as good but along the same lines. Very tropical fruit-y, which I love.

WOW!!! Boy now I wish I had gotten more than a case of this gem... Hazy bright gold color, citrusy almost floral nose, a great summer refresher, and its only the middle of May... Great pairing with my BBQ a great counterpoint to the spicy/smokiness of the pulled pork... This one is a drinker, get it while you can... and send a couple my way...

Poured from 12 oz bottle , bottled 3 months ago so I wasn't going to rate it but it was so good I thought I would
A very light yellow colored beer with a white 1 finger head and small amounts of lacing
Very sweet hoppy smell , floral and earthy and sweet
Very nice smooth mouthfeel to this brew , very enjoyable
Very nice tasting beer , the hops the malt and the yeast all come together very well , just a great example of an American IPA that is very balanced , will be purchasing this every year when it comes out

Pours golden orange. Nice 2 inch head. Fantastic hoppy citrusy smell. Loads of orange and tangerine. The taste is incredible. Loads of citrus. Loads of hops. Mouthfeel is full, very carbonated. Overall, this is by far my favorite beer of 2012. I can drink this for breakfast every day. You must buy this beer. If you don't, you will regret it.

Poured into a pint glass from a 12oz bottle.
Pours a very clear and pale golden yellow with some mild copper hues. There is a nice 1.25 inch head that is white and very dense. There are some medium to smaller sized bubbles intermingled with the real dense foam. Retention is excellent. The head last forever and recedes very slowly while leaving some lacing.
Aroma to this brew is perfection. Citrusy notes with some tangerine, orange peel and slight grapefruit notes. Those citrus notes are well complimented by some nice tropical fruit notes. There are peach notes and some papaya as well as mango. Nose is awesome.
The flavor follows nose and is very nearly perfect. Tropical notes start things off with some nice papaya and peach. There is also some good citrusy notes that aren't too intense but perfectly balanced with some slight crystal malt sweetness. Some bready notes are present as well as some grassy and slightly piney notes. Mouthfeel is perfect. SMooth and crisp at the same time. Very clean with a nice slightly piney and dry finish.
A true winner by Schlafly. One of their best efforts to date. Great balance of hop and malts and great shinning hop presence. A hop lovers dream with a hidden 7.2% kick.

12 Oz bottle poured into a tulip
Bottled 11-14-12 (6 days young)
A- This beer pours a clear golden straw yellow with a two finger white head.
S- A massive nose on this beer. It starts off sugary sweet and the hop profile just takes over. A ton of orange and lemon and pineapple. One of the most citrusy smelling beers out there.
T- Sugary sweetness up front. The mats comethrough as a light caramel and very breaddy. The malts perfectly balance the hop bitterness and really help add another element to the beer as well as compliment the hop profile. The hops are crazy in this beer. There is an absolutely massive amount of citrus. This beer tastes like a tropical fruit buffet. The hops are also very floral and a remind you your not drinking a fruit beer.
M- This is a perfectly balanced beer. Sweetness and bitterness balance out to a clean finish and a hoppy aftertaste. Drinkable but still sizable for 7.2%
O- Absolutely awesome IPA. It definitantly helps out that my bottle is extremely fresh. This beer has a different and refreshing hop flavor and is perfectly balanced by the malts. Check it out if you can get it.

12oz bottle poured into a Schlafly snifter.
Appearance: This beer pours a mostly clear brightly light golden orange. About one finger sized of white frothy head. Retention holds up nicely. Nice lacing lines throughout the glass.
Aroma: The galaxy hops are bright and citrusy. Tropical fruits like pineapple and mangoes and grapefruit come to mind. Hints of some piney dankness linger in the background.
Taste: Bright fresh juicy citrus and tropical fruit flavors dominate. Apicots, pineapple, grapefruit, mangoes. At 60 IBU's it's not an overpowering or overly bitter flavor but there's not much here as far as malts go. Perhaps just a little for some balance. Finishes dry.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. Carbonation is a little high and prickly but I don't have any complaints. The finish is very dry with some moderate bitterness.and wants to keep bringing you back for more.

A- At first pour the color is faint yellow, somewhat relective of an American adjunct lager, however, a much nicer white foamy head. Don't let this fool you as the next steps improve dramatically.
S- Wonderful citrus hop aroma, and sweet malty undertones.
T- This is where the surprise just jumps at you. The citrus notes of the Australian hops melds exceptionally well with the light sweet malt. I'm so confused by the light color of the brew that I go back for another taste of the TIPA explosion of joy - nicely done Schlafly brewmasters!
M- The mouthfeel is medium to well rounded with a hint of warmth from the alcohol. Did I mention there is 7.2% by volume hidden within this flavor profile....near perfection.
O- I still can't get paste the color of the malt and the enjoyment of what I just finished. And this brew is part of a new Schlafly rotational IPA series. I only have 5 of these babies left, great job St. Louis brewery!

As light an IPA as I can recall. This beer almost looks like a pils! Great carbonation and head formation. Thick lacing is left as it diminishes in the glass.
And wow! The aroma hits me while I’m pouring it. Definitely the most exciting new hop aroma I’ve come across in a long time. I’ve had beers with Galaxy hops before, but none have been this amped up. Huge fruity/citrus notes, as well as an odd almost sulfur-like smell, but it’s not off-putting, just different and hard to grasp. Great smell to this.
The aroma just gets me excited to drink this, and the flavor thankfully does not let me down. As I understand it, this beer is comprised one type of hop and one type of malt. If so, simplicity really works here. Very drinkable, yet this beer is all about showcasing this interesting hop cultivar. I get a lot of mango fruit flavor, but then the finish has this really odd sensation, where it’s not just bitter, but it’s almost a stinging and drying sensation. The only other time I’ve experienced that was with Zombie Dust, but that is a Citra hop beer. Malt is definitely second fiddle, but the light touch of honey sweetness provides a good, but small counterpoint. Body/mouthfeel are spot-on—no complaints there.
Schlafly Tasmanian IPA is one of those rare beers that really makes me sit up and pay attention and is what the American craft beer scene is all about. It’s a new and exciting take on an IPA. And by far the best beer I’ve ever had by Schlafly. It’s only mid-January, but I have a feeling I may consider this one of my top 5 beers of 2013.

The appearance is a beautifully clear golden hue; could probably trick some bud drinkers into trying this on appearance alone. Aroma is amazing, tropical fruits, citrus and a slightly oniony/grassy smell. Tastes like it smells, pretty much no malt present and this is all hops. Bitterness is as expected, but not overdone. Mouthfeel is pretty standard. Overall one of the better IPA's i've tried. It's amazing what IPAs come from the midwest these days; really only a handful of IPA's on the west coast that are in the same league as this beer.
I would compare this to Stone's enjoy by or toppling goliath zeelander, but this is way better than both (no competition with either in my opinion).

Paid $10.99 for a growler at DEP in Fort. Thomas, KY...
First note is that Schlafly makes some killer special release beers and this one is pretty special. The beer pours a clear golden base with huge white, organic fluffy head, and thick lacing on the glass. Smell great, reminds me of the Victory's Headwaters PA; very bright and floral hops, with a touch of citrus-like sweetness.
The brewer notes pineapple as the fruit element and it is abundant yet very complimentary to the single Tasmanian hop used, it comes off as an extremely bold yet simple flavor. It's extremely light on the mouth and is a perfect session beer.
Final Thought: This was a huge surprise, it's refreshingly simple and oozes of quality, one of the best beers I've had in my ten years of sampling craft beers, well done!

Multiple 12oz bottles, bottle date 10/08/12, poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint
where do we start, i first had this years batch of awesomeness on tap at Country Boy Brewing for the Schlafly Event that also had the Black IPA(which was stellar too). The look of this beer is nice golden color, quite a few shades lighter than your standard IPA but in this SMaSH style beer it works perfectly for later on when you have a sip. The golden beer is topped off with a nice two finger high thick froth of head. After seeing such a clear beer, you tend to lean in for a smell and boy what a beautiful aroma from the wonderful Australian hop known as Galaxy. This beer emits aromas of grapefruit, citrus and some wild flower. The similarities it shares with a hop like Citra are as evident as the differences. The tastes that accompany the aromas are very similar except for a bit of the sweet from the 2 row malt. The bite from the hops is a very smooth bite with no rough edges. There is an apricot to almost grapefruit flavor left after the final sip that is all Galaxy, highlighting again why this beer is so good. The simplicity of it all worked better than most would have expected. The mouthfeel is spot on, not too much carbonation to increase the bitter but definitely enough to hold to style. The medium body is perfect for this as to not draw anything away from the hops. Overall, this beer is great and available and affordable. This is not a super rare beer or over hyped but it can stand up to a lot of overhyped IPA's out there. Thanks Schlafly for a great follow up to American IPA this year.

Picked up a six pack of this to enjoy during football games. *Spoiler* They were gone before the last game.
Pours clear orange with a creamy 2 finger white head. Good retention and lacing.
Citrus and tropical fruits in the aroma with a bit of peach and pine in the background. West coast style as just a trace of malt is detectable.
Similar flavors. Loads of orange and other citrus up front. Some lighter fruits with a touch of papaya along with a bit of bready malt, but very hop forward. Finishes very resiny with strong pine that lingers on the tongue.
A shad under medium bodied. Not very much malt at all in this so easy to put down quickly. Finishes very dry.
One of the better beers I've had from Schlafly. Will definitely be picking up more of this one. Very sessionable (therefore dangerous) despite the higher ABV.

Poured from the bottle a very clear and bright yellow with two fingers of bright white head. Left behind lots of sticky lacing.
Big aroma of grassy hops with this one along with an abundance of earthyness.
Like the aroma, this really pushes the hops level. A big bite of grass and pine and a bite of lemon. Finishes clean with just a slight medicinal note.
Medium bodied and sticky with a moderate carbonation.
This one is so good! Hoppy and well balanced.

Appearance: pours a straw golden pilsener color with a.quick fading head. Good lacing.
Nose: galaxy is supposedly new Zealand grown Citra and it smells like it. Tropical citrus with a mild grassy undertone. Hops are the star.
Taste: really, really good. Light, pale malt. Hops steal the show. Slightly sweet. Very tropical and citrusy with that same slight grassiness. Bitterness is present but relatively low. Obviously big on the late hop additions and dry hop.
Feel: well-carbed. Light to medium body.
Overall: delicious. Great showcase for a great hop. The hops are the star and they really perform.

This came to me as a 20 oz. draft in a mug. Lucky me and thanks to the bartender for pointing out this new offering.
In the looks department, the IPA is gorgeous crystal clear deep yellow-gold topped with a finger and a half of meringue-like head, reducing slowly to a form lasting cap and exemplary lacing.
The aroma hit me before the glass his the bar, wafting fresh floral and citrus hops and a bit of honey-ish sweetness that was almost tactile in quality.
The flavor was lots of fun and mixed freely with the nose in a potpourri of fruity yeast, malt, and very fresh hops, just ever so delicately piney. Everything about the flavors evoked freshness an to me evoked a garden or orchard like essence.
A medium body and just the right amount of carbonation rounded out this glass fairly perfectly.
Overall very well-balanced in all aspects. I have been impressed with several other Schlafly offerings, and this Tasmanian IPA is the best so far. I will be going back for more of this one.

A: 1.5 finger head with excellent lacing on a clear dull golden body.
S: many citrus notes present including tangerine peach pineapple and orange peel. Nice strong, full nose
T: hops are broad with herbal earthy and citrus notes. Nice malt, more of a pale malt, presence and mild bitterness.
M: creamy body and moderate carbonation
Overall: complex hop character. Best beer of the ones I tried.

Mazy, hazy golden . Three fingers of foam that gently settle down with nice lacings on the glass. Lacings hold on as I drink down the glass.
Grapefruit! Wonderful citrus bouquet of fresh squeezed grapefruit. Faint, tiny carbonation.
Smooth , crisp clean taste of citrusy hops. Clean finish with a slight bitterness at the end. Nice , light to medium weight.
I prefer malty beers but I was pleasantly surprised by the taste, smell and appearance of this Tasmanian IPA. A good beer that I would enjoy again.

L: Slightly hazy golden yellow, creamy white head with decent retention.
T: Passionfruit sweetness up front with a clean maltiness. Medium high, fruity bitterness leading to a fruity resinous. Malt provides support and slight sweetness in the background. Finishes semi-dry with hop bitterness and slight passionfruit.
M: Medium bodied, medium carbonation, refreshing.
Just a complete passionfruit bomb without being overwhelming. It's amazing such a simple single malt, single hop beer could be this flavorful. One of the best IPA's i've had in a while and great showcase for galaxy hops.

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass.
Holy carp this is the PALEST IPA I have ever seen! Fluffy white head, three fingers deep sitting on top of a crystal clear nearly straw yellow pilsner like body. I am talking mirror like reflection in this thing, There is no rising carbonation on this at all, with speckled lacing.
Woah what's that nose!?! Dank apricot.. did I just say that? Yes I did.. in the same sentence. Fresh juicy hop apricot and a faint earth dankness together. Woah that is a combination that I have never had the joy of smelling.. It's a great combination. Fruity but not flakey... Dense but not gritty soil stuck in your teeth.. love where this is going.
Schlafly brings the bread and the goods on the palate. Rich apricot and malt backbone, it's practically baked bread with apricot fruit in it. A real great feel with a classic bread softness, I feel like dried fruit apricot is being pulled out of my teeth and my gums. Dry and resinous, with a thick finish but not much large sweetness which makes it real nice. Feels like fruit/beer territory, the fruit hop angle on this is large, as if they threw fruit in the boil. FRUIT FRUIT FRUIT and it's all HOPS baby.
Schlafly you just keep doing it right... at 7.2 this is going down fast like nothing. It feels even session-able which is a scary downright immoral thing to say. Oh man this is GOOD! You may get a different hop angle, one friend calls pine, the bottle calls citrus, I call apricot blast, either way.. it's pure friggin win.

12 oz bottle into a tulip glass.
Pours a CRYSTAL clear gold, with several fingers of foamy bright-white colored head. This retains with at first a big creamy dollop in the middle of the glass and then finally a thick finger or so of robust froth which coats the sides of the glass with rich sticky lacing. The aroma is equal part floral and herbal in the nose with added notes of grapefruit, lemon, pine and then bright tropical fruit tones of mango and pineapple. A light bready feel hangs along the back. This is fresh and vibrant in the nostrils, with that fruit character in particular really being a stand out.
The taste is juicy grapefruit bitterness that gives off a robust bright feel in the mouth, surrounded on the edges by herbal textures and more sweet tropical fruit character. Malts are fairly neutral here but their sweetness does seem to help draw more of that fruit flavor out from the hops. The finish is dry and resinous with some lingering bitter pith. It’s a bit assertive but not overly so. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a soft oily crispness to the carbonation that really flows smoothly in the mouth. You don’t get much of a sense of that 7% ABV here at all.
Wow. This is just a tremendous showcase for Galaxy hops and easily surpasses their previous (and excellent as well) bottled American IPA from earlier this year. This has to be one of the best bottled IPAs on the market right now that’s seeing a decent distribution. Grab it if you find it!

A: pours a light yellow gold color, that closely resembles the color of the bottle label. it creates about 1/2 fingers worth of bright cream colored head formation with moderate lacing. the color doesnt change when held up directly to the light, and its just murky enough to prevent transparency.
S: wow! that is an immense blast of mango, apricots, orange peel, citrus, lemons, grapefruit! probably one of the fruitiest smelling IPA's I have had. the hops are secondary to the fruits but sit terrifically with the beer. definitely one hell of a smelling brew
T: again, the fruits are the dominating player. huge apricots followed by mango, lemon zest, grapefruit and orange peel (hate to repeat myself, but they are still very much present). it has enough malt to hold the brew together and the dry bitter hops again are infused quite nicely with the brew.
M: medium bodied (venturing on the lighter side of medium). it leaves an intense apricot and mango taste on the palate along with a big bitter hop note.
O: terrifc brew. love the intense fruits and the bitter hops. very intriguing, very nicely balanced. a must try.
