The 2009 Festival beer introduced at the Hop in the City, and was I impressed. I'll be looking forward to this one in bottles, hopefully, it was a damn fine tasty treat.

Pours a clear amber/orange, with a nice topping of ivory head. And this one can really spell out American style with a sturdy dose of citrus, pine and orange in both the aroma and quaff. A hint of floral peeks in during the finish. Loaded up with Simcoe, Columbus and Centennial hops.

Thick and rich body, even a bit oily. Looking forward to the next bottle or pint of this one.

I put this one in the DIPA category with it's 7.2% and 55 IBU.

Received in trade from bluewolf17, thanks for the opportunity!
Pours a crystal clear Medium golden color with a huge bubbly white head that persists forever. Smells of pine and resin with a hint of garlic and a modest caramel bready malt to back it up. Light earth and a touch of alcohol round out the nose. The flavor is sweet with bready caramel and a solid shot of ethanol. Bitter pine and resin dominate the flavor with a long lingering garlic and ethanol bitterness finishing us off. Medium body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a sweet resinous mouthfeel. Nice IPA but maybe the flavors are a bit harsh and clashing just a little bit.

12oz bottled March 27, 2013. Served at around 40-45F.

Pours hazy amber with nice little bits floating around, three finger white head that settles to a small cap and leaves good lacing behind.

Aroma is citrus, grapefruit, lemon, good bit of pine, a little floral, grassy, some bready and caramel malt. Good strength.

Flavor is grapefruit, lemon citrus, resinous hops, good bit of pine, grassy, some caramel malt backbone, moderate sweetness, moderate to good bitterness, mild to moderate alcohol.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, a little oily, good carbonation.

Nice IPA, but not as good as the Tasmanian IPA!

Crisp and clean, not as hoppy as expected though that may be due to the American Hops of which I am unaccustomed. Very much enjoyed it. Love the box which, as a collector of six-pack sides, is why I purchased it.

Good hop aroma though not as strong as hoped for.

Enjoyed poured aggressively into a pint glass.

Label is updated from that which is above, now covered w/ hops.:-)

(Edit to mention this is now labeled as an APA.)
