12oz brown bottle with a bottled on date. Good amount of tan head that drops a stick lace on the glass. Pitch black more or less, dark enough to not let the light through. Aroma of soft charcoal and silky oats. Full bodied with a smooth and creamy dextrin mouth feel. Slight roasted character that grows to a streamlined char flavor. Mild hop bitterness plays off of the oat sweetness. Good malt base with a faint yeast and fruity note. Finishes semi-sweet, this one is an obvious chocolate pairing. Not bad at all, above average compared to the rest.

A-very dark chestnut brown with a fingers worth of tan head that sticks to the side of the glass

S-roasted malt, roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and oatmeal sweetness

T-taste is similar to the smell with a roasted malt backbone, dark roasted coffee, some dark chocolate sweetness

M-very smooth, thin to medium body, light to medium carbonation

Overall a nice, pretty basic oatmeal stout that is easy to drink

12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Pours nearly pitch black with a one and a half finger dark tan head. Excellent head retention with a cap remaining over halfway through the glass. Nearly a solid wall of lacing as well. Impressive.

Lot of coffee in the aroma along with a solid shot of dark chocolate. Nice dark roasted malt and a touch of dark fruits.

Rich roasted malt, espresso, and dark chocolate on the taste. The chocolately roast just carries on for what seems like forever and is perfect with the silky smoothe mouthfeel provided by the oats in the mash. The more I drink this, the more I pick up on some plums and dates as well. Just a moderate bitterness that is enough to balance out the sweetness.

Overall, one of the better oatmeal stouts I have had. Lots of roast and chocolate and a great mouthfeel. A wonderful dessert beer.
