Received this as an extra in a recent trade and was excited to sample considering the recent praise of this brew.

Pours a light mahoghany brown in color w/ a skim coat white head and little to no lacing. The appearance was the worst aspect of this brew. Aromas of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove(basically read the label). The taste was of spices up front, leading into a pumpkin finish and a solid hop bite. Medium bodied w/ lower carbonation. Pretty easy to drink.

Overall, a good example of the style, but slightly disappointing. I think this is rated a bit too high. Maybe this should be rated on the backside of the top 10 in style, but not the upper tier. This beer is solid, but by no means The Great Pumpkin, Good Gourd, or even Pumking level.

A - Almost copper, zero head, zero lacing, carbonation creates movement in surface of brew throughout entirety.

S - Real nice. love the spices. Cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg and obviously pumpkin.

T - Initially spices blend together very nicely and come together for a sweet (but not overly sweet) taste. finish is slight acidic, very low hops and barely a touch of booze. 8ABVs are eliminated.

M - Nice and frothy, full and thick, high viscosity and the spices linger. great combo.

O - This has to be a pumpkin brew all can enjoy. Flavors and spices and potent but mellow. Nothing dramatic with any one flavor. It is certainly a pleasure to enjoy this pumpkin brew in March.
