Lavaman Red Ale is a malty, red ale with strong caramel notes and a subtle chocolate malt flavor. The pronounced maltiness is balanced by the delicate blend of Pacific Northwest hops resulting in a smooth, full-bodied beer.

Had a few pints at the big island brewery a few hours before my flight to SD. Very tasty, easy drinking red. Not too malty or sweet or cloying. Subtle hop character and a smooth a refreshing finish. Well done!

Had a 20 oz serving with a very late lunch at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co on Front Street in Lahaina for $9.99.
Beer was served reddish brown with a nice white head.
Nose was light bread and carmelized malts.
Taste was very approachable. Cracker, bread, and carmelized malts balanced nicely with moderate beta hops. Very light citrus and pine present. Finish was on the malty side, no bitterness.
Mouthfeel was light to medium bodied and pretty refreshing.
Overall a nice easy drinking refreshing beer that went well with a wonderful mahi mahi platter.
