This beer comes from a small braurei in Murnau. It is even better on tap than in the bottle. The beer has a very sunny hue, and flavors of fresh yeast and bannanas predominate with a slight coriander lingering on the palate. It is a wonderful bier for sipping in a Biergarten at the lake or, even better, for a typical Bavarian breakfast with Weisswurst and Brezen....

#1792 - Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Mid amber, notably hazy with a 15mm off-white foamy head which holds even 15mins later. ps. After pouring the other 1/2 of the bottle I can see this is 'very' unfiltered. There is also a thick layer of sediment left accreted to the bottom of the bottle.
S- Mellow trad wheaty notes.
T- A good weissen profile here, moderate spice notes but there seems to be a clear banana aspect too.
F- Trad, engaging complexity, eminently sessionable, esp. if down in Bavaria at local/DE prices. Oh and the carbonation in the mouth is really good too.
O- Very nice, very drinkable. I'd happily drink this one again. - Note: Interesting brewery, despite living for 3 years in Germany I'd not heard of it before. Seems it waaay down south in the Bavarian Alps near the Austrian border.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the bottle lables to see what I missed! No surprises there, the whole is mega-trad typical Bavarian labelling.
500ml bottle BB: 09/08/2021 Bought from BeautifulBeers/BurySt.Edmunds as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

Quite hazy dark golden color with off-white head. Aroma has overripe banana and toasted malt. Taste is sweet and fruity, slightly astringent, grainy. Medium plus body and carbonation. Good weizen overall.

Nice silver-blue label with a classic Design. "Garantiert reine Flaschengärung" is written on it which means "bottle conditioned". Euro-bottle brings up some classic feelings, too. Poured into a wheat beer glass: the beer is clear at first, but as I am shaking the rest of the bottle and pour it all in, I receive a thick, cloudy nectar. That is how to pour these wheatbeers! The head is not that big but OK. Nice dark orange colour and very peppery and spicy on the nose. The taste is brillant: More on the clove than the Banana and a rather spicy taste. Not that sweet because of the good hop character, the hops are so good here, giving a herbal note. Super soft and refreshing in the summer days. It is not easy to find a bavarian style hefe weizen as good as this one!

Pours a nice full head of foam, which has a good retention, there is a cap of foam that stays to the end and it leaves good lacing. Colour is a hazy orange-gold, tight carbonation. This bottle had a ton of yeast sediment, which upon addition darkened the beer to a creamy caramel.

Aroma is has some light floral and sharp citrus notes, there is the expected banana, but a grassiness and bitterness. A bit hit of clove. Definitely a lot of yeast noticeable after its addition.

Taste is initially fruity, with the malt, a strong floral element as well. Yeast is of a complimenting smooth character, it is quite present. It is not overly sweet, its very creamy on the palate but there's an offsetting bitterness which works well.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and wonderfully creamy. Carbonation is good. Drinkability is great, beer is nice and refreshing. Aftertaste is dry with creamy toast malt, maybe a bit of hay, good body.

For the sake of experimentation, I tried this before adding the yeast sediment and was pretty ready to write-it-off as a standard hefeweizen. The yeast makes a huge improvement though. The beer has a wonderfully smooth and balanced profile, has all the style trademarks with plenty of yeast character. I find it less sweet than a lot of hefes but this remains well-balanced. Maybe not the most interesting beer in a style that encompasses some greats, but its quality stuff and quite pleasant to drink.

500ml bottle. Mindestens Haltbar bis: 04.11.11. It has a lot of sediment and pours a murky gold. The smell is peachy and mango-y, rare for a hefeweissbier, it seems to abandon the usual banana. It also has a bunch of sweetness in the smell. There is also a bit of sulphr and bubblegum. The flavor is super wheaty. It tastes like bread with some bitter hops thrown in. This beer is all over the place. If you want to try something new reach for it, otherwise it is merely a fucked up weissbier.

Pours a clear golden color with a tan head that hangs around for awhile finally fading to just under a one finger leaving a small amount of sticky lacing.

As I get toward the bottom of the beer bottle I notice a huge yeast cake sitting down there. With a small amount of beer left in the bottle I swirl it and pour into the glass. It's nice to watch the yeast slowly fall toward the bottom of the glass. Now the color is a murky, hazy, tan color.

Smell is of banana nut bread, some orange citrus, yeast, a maybe a mild hint of cinnamon.

Taste is pretty typical for a weissbier. Banana, some bready biscuit notes and yeast of course. The finish is clean, smooth, and maybe just a touch dry with a faint lingering aftertaste of orange, yeast, and banana nut bread. The body is a bit light but not bad at all.

Overall this is not this best weissbier I've ever had but it is certainly not the worst! It's a very tasty example of the style. Just wish I had a nice Jager Schnitzel to go with it.

A typical bavarian Weissbier from a small village brewery near the Alpes. Nice amber colour. A bit too mild for me, few more hops would be better. Nice fruity flavour, banana and cloves. Also livelyness is not as expected from a Weissbier. All in all a good beer

BB 15-02-06. Some head and a deep golden beercolour with good haze. Nose is good wheaty carracter with fine bannana/peach fruitarome. Taste is very full bodied and creamy for a weizen and has great wheatmaltarome. Good alcoholbite a gives a anis/liquorice like hint before moderate bitterness comes in. Dry overall but in between you get some sweet hints aswell and together with good and high carbonisation giving it a tasty and fresh mouthfeel. Good beer and a good axample of a bavarian Hefe-Weizenbeer.

Hazy oranged color, typical for a hefe weizen. Definitely not typical it's the foam, scarce and quickly disappearing.
In the smell there is a lot of banana, sweet and sugary. Too sweet.
The taste is sweet too, too much. An overload of banana, that lowers the drinkability. With careful, under the banana, you can feel some peppery notes.
Light in body, aftertaste with no surprise.

Exceptional blooming cream colored head. Two big fingers on pour - settles to a finger. The beer, itself, is tan colored - hazy - with very active beading.

Aromatics are sharp and fresh: clove, spice, bananna bread. Generally, the nose seems preprssed and also very present at the same time.

Taste is round and smooth. a refreshing sweetness/softness on the tounge. There is a lot of malt presence, but the definat hefe-twange is the star. It is interesting that all the carbonation doesnt bite the tounge.

Although, not my favorite style, it is a very respectable and drinkable beer.
