Straw yellow color with tons of carbonation bubbles. The head has great retention. The aroma is classic German pilsner. Soft grains and spicy grass/hay like hop. The taste is classic as well. Spicy hops dominates the lager while a nice touch of grain and malt balance out the beer. Finishes clean and slightly spicy. I enjoyed this beer. One of the best pilsners I have had in a while.

Intense golden color, very few bubbles. White foam, a bit scarce, and quickly falling down.
Malt, so and so, in the smell. Quite banal. A bit of cardboard.
Nothing in the taste, too. Basic beer.
Hop, not too fresh, not inviting.
Malt and some hop in the aftertaste, banal.
Light body.
No need to search for.

Pours a light, clear straw-gold color with lots of lively carbonation running around in the glass, pushing its way up to a full inch of white, fizzy foam that surprisingly had a decent amount of retention. Leaves a good bit of lacing around the glass as well. Not a bad looking beer.

Banana, clove, and a light buttery toastiness come out of the aroma of the beer. A hint of grassy hops in there, too. Not too complex or fragrant, but still good.

The flavor is pretty sweet all the way through, but it's varying degrees of sweetness. Up front are candied bananas and sweet pale malts, then a bit of sweeter lemon shows up for just an instant before making way for a nice grassy clean finish. Clean and tasty, the mouthfeel complements the taste as well. Medium-light body with a buttery smoothness that finishes up well with a light bit of carbonation buzz to let you know it's there.

I didn't know what to think when I picked this up at the store, but I like it quite a bit. It's not the best representation of the style, but the flavors are unique and it's a perfect beer for grilling out or chilling out on a summery day. Now if those days would only get here. I'll have to see if I can grab some more Urfass this summer.

12-ounce bottle poured into a shaker pint glass yields a sparkling pale golden body capped with a thick finger of white foam fed by numerous streamers of active carbonation. The foam diminishes quickly to a ring that leaves thin wispy lacing on the glass.

The smell is nice and malty and a touch herbal with a solid dose of noble hops.

Taste is malty and dry with a biscuity note, seasoned liberally with spicy hops and a faint minerally note.

The drink is surprisingly substantial and on the full side of medium-bodied. Nicely carbonated with great drinkability.

Poured a very light crystal clear golden color. What I would expect from a good lager. Started out with a large 2-finger head, which dissipated quickly leaving no lacing.

Smelled buttery, some corn, malt, and slight hops scent. Nothing special.

Taste was a bit off for me. I was expecting a nice crisp, clean taste and instead I got a metallic taste with a slight soapy aftertaste. Maybe a hint of lemon in there too. Had a watery feel to it, yet left my mouth feeling dry afterwards. As the beer warmed the metallic taste mellowed more, so the taste was a bit more enjoyable.

I would say this is a very drinkable brew, if you can get past the wierd metal taste.

Bought a 6pack at Brawley's in Charlotte. Bottles stamped with Best Before 8-30-2008. I was looking for something to take to a softball game. The packaging caught my eye and I thought, what the hell.

Very drinkable crisp, clean tasting beer. Could drink quite a few on a warm day in the yard or at a bbq. Nothing super, but a nice beer.

Pours a clear light golden with a thin white head that is well sustained, lightly skunked aroma from the green bottle but a light toastiness comes thru along with some fresh mowed grass (would love to smell fresh)a nice mix of toasted malt and hop.Taste has a sharp hoppy edge to it,a a lightly toasted malt backbone holds up well to the big dose of spicey/sharp hops,as like many German lagers there is also a faint note of iron coming thru.A well rounded German lager I wish I could try fresh even an older bottle shows some nice lager qualities.

A green 12 ounce bottle from Acrobrau, claiming to be "the count's brewery"...since 1567. Which count I'm not sure?

Pours a crystal clear clean looking light yellow-gold with a thick creamy white head that lasted the entire time I was drinking the beer.

This beer has the classic german lager/pils aroma -- noble hops and malt. Nice and inviting.

A significant hop presence in the flavor, but very good balance make this beer fit the Bohemian pilsner style.

Overall an enjoyable pilsner. Certainly worth a try.
