500ml bottle poured into pint glass 5/2/13

A amber liquid with lots of sediment and even more bubbles, the carbonation's heavy and sustains a thumbs width of foam for quite a while but leaves only some random lace

S fruity notes, faint coco, dry cereal and leafy earthy hops, pretty basic

T much of the same but slightly nutty, lots of earthy notes and again its pretty basic but nothing to be ashamed of

M the tiny bubbles work at first then start to turn to foam, medium bodied and the leafy nutty notes linger for quite a while

O easy enough to drink but not all that exciting, don't turn one away but don't go looking for it

perhaps better suited for the Summer sun, I'd drink this again but I doubt I'd buy it with others I've yet to try beside it on the shelf

500ml bottle, 5.2% ABV. A 'naturtrübes kellerbier', or unfiltered kellerbier, according to the label.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, dark brownish copper colour, with a fistful of slick, smooth, puffy pale beige head, which leaves some sudsy layered cloud lace around the glass as it evenly subsides.

It smells of muted caramel malt, a bit of dark pastry sweetness, some weird earthy astringency, mildly tart drupe fruit, and soft leafy, weedy noble hops. The taste is very lightly roasted bready caramel malt, a moderate orchard fruitiness, and sassy leafy, somewhat musty hops.

The bubbles are present and accounted for, their supportive activity impinging on nothing, the body a subtle medium weight, and genuinely smooth. It finishes squarely on the off-dry side, as the bready, pastry-tinged malt does well to linger, and the hops having clocking out exactly at closing time.

An agreeable dark German lager, yet another easy-drinking offering from this under-the-radar Bavarian brewery. Don't quite know if this warrants a style adjustment, though.

Brewed every 3 years for the Nördlingen Stadtmauerfest.

Lightly veiled copper color, with very low carbonation. White foam, scarce, not too beautiful.
At the smell malt, light honey. Biscuit, and something aromatic,
Same in the taste, with aromatic notes, and hop. Pleasant. Quite peculiar.
Difficult to define a style, also. It has also something similar to a Vienna lager.
In the aftertaste again biscuit, malt, and a delicate honey. Hints of hop.
Peculiar, but pleasant.
