Ordered a pitcher of this tonight with a friend at La Finca in Morehead, KY. Served in mugs.

Appearance: The body is very different from many Mexican beers we're used to seeing - it's a deep, reddish chestnut/amber color, clear and transparent, with quite a few bubbles rising to the top. The head is a beige/dark white, and is about one finger in width, composed of tight bubbles, and sticks around only briefly before fading to a covering film, leaving some spotty lacing behind. Looks like a nice beer, very European in nature.

Smell: Woah, very European smell here. Quite surprising, but not strong at all. I pick up some roasted malt from the nose, as well as maybe some vague graininess and faint earthy hops or bread crust from the yeast. Not bad, just faint. The smell is nearly nonexistent on this beer, but what is there is pretty good. Bump up both the malt and hops on this, and you would have a fine Euro-esque lager on hand; but it's just too weak.

Taste: Mostly malt, honestly, and somewhat diluted. You pick up the roasted malt, maybe just a hint of nutty flavors that follows, and a barely-there presence of some spicy/earthy hops in the finish. As the beer warmed, I noticed that some biscuit/bread flavors were struggling to emerge, but it was overshadowed by the graininess. The finish was the worst part about this beer, leaving a lingering note of adjunct steeliness and a bitterness that is not reminiscent of hops. I'm giving this a 3.5 because even though it wasn't mindblowing, it did its job well by pairing with and washing down the pollo bandido dishes. A decent dinner beer, just not extremely flavorful.

Mouthfeel: Average for the Mexican beers I've tried - high carbonation, somewhat thin body, goes down easy. Some flavors linger into the finish but don't stick around for too long.

Overall: If you want a beer to wash down those enchiladas and tastes better than Corona, go for this. If you're looking for a genuine-tasting Vienna lager, stay far, far away. Not bad for what it is, but probably not worth pursuing outside of this kind of context.

A: Amber like the name. Not a lot of head

S: Pretty weak. Little bit of Malt and caramel maybe

T: Sweet caramel, with not a lot of after taste

M: Pretty good carbonation

Overall: I like the sweet taste in the beginning but the after taste was kind of weak with the smell.
