355ml bottle poured into pint glass 28/8/12

A has more color then I expected, golden yellow, lots of tiny bubbles and a short lived finger of foam leaves no lace

S cooked veggies, grass and hay with a little corny malt

T some faint noble hops to go with what I smell, nothing special but much better then the other Mexican beers I had this week

M well carbonated and a little thin about what I expected, fairly clean finish

O a nice surprise that I found a un-skunked beer here in PV, drinkable for sure

perhaps its all the crap I´ve been drinking in Mexico but this one was almost good.

Had a bottle at a local Mexican restaurant.

A=Couldn't tell much, as I consumed it from the bottle...appeared to be darker than most adjuncts.

S=I couldn't get much aroma...some malt.

T=A bit more flavorful than other pilseners...smoky with maltiness.

M=Nice body...perhaps a bit much more body than other pils...low to moderate carbonation.

O=An okay beer...not a great compliment to Mexican food...probably will not buy this again.

Yellow-gold in appearance with a slim, white head that thins to a rim with spots on the surface.

Smells of lemon zest, bread crust, floral hops and light malts. Mild, but enough hops to keep it intriguing.

In the taste I'm catching lemon, light malts, and just enough bittering hops. A very, very slight hint of peppery/peppermint hops flavor.

Light-medium bodied and friendly to the palate.

Notes: If I had one suggestion to offer it would be to add some additional hops flavor to more closely match the aroma. Also, it could be more prickly (hops!). That being said, Bohemia is one of the best beers out of Mexico, and among my top 3 choices when eating at a Mexican restaurant. In many ways it's much like a Munich Helles lager.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin bright white head that died down but consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a bit of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: There are aromas of grainy malts and corn in the nose along with some hints of grassy hops.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has flavors of grainy malts and is accompanied by a light to moderate amount of bitterness that persists through the taste, but particularly stands out in the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation with a bit of dryness in the finish.
O: This beer is a cut above most other standard Mexican lagers and is relatively easy to drink.

12oz bottle with no date

Pours clear yellow-gold with no head whatsoever. Smell is light: slight lemon, corn, grain. Taste is much the same but better; light corn, grain, rice, slightly warming malt, a touch of bitter citrus, and a light peppery feeling. Mouthfeel is good, carbonated well.

Your better-than-average mexican lager.

I ordered this at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Thought it was a fitting accompaniment to a delicious meal. They poured it into a frosted mug. Can’t win them all. But at least I didn’t have it with the lime!

This bottle comes from the Frida Kahlo edition. I gotta give them props for using famous artists to market the beer.

It pours a golden-crystal color with light foam and noticeable effervescence. There’s a light aroma to this with some corn/adjunct lager notes (if this in fact is made with adjuncts) being barely perceptible. No hops, no malt profile to speak of either.

There’s a light crisp flavor to this, sans any expected (hopefully anticipated?) hoppiness. Not much aftertaste either. It finishes clean and clear, unlike my experience with other adjunct lagers. This is what it is and it does what it does. I didn’t expect much and it didn’t disappoint my expectations. You could do a lot worse in a mass-produced import.

Bottleof 355 ml, poured into a low wide glass. Bohemia Obsura was really great, so let's see this one.
Colour is golden yellow, with a greenish hue when against light, with minimal amount of bubbles rising to the top and a one finger head that was quickly gone.
Extra-ordinarily great smell,limes, a bit fruity too, but not sweet fruity, citrus like.
The flavour surely follows the aroma, but in the contrary of other mexican beers that have a lime flavour, this one tastes more natural and not so artificial.
Medium thickness on the body, a bit dry on the palate and average carbonation.
Overall, it managed to make me hold my positive stance against Bohemia, that I had from the Obscura.
If in Mexico, look only for this one

The first beer I enjoyed off the resort, and what a pleasant surprise it was!

A - Pours a pale golden colour, finger of head with some retention and sporadic lacing.

S - Metallic musty malts, hints of leafy greens, grassy hop notes and hints of burnt cane sugar.

T - The first Mexican beer that has traces of hops! Surprisingly flavourful and fitting of the style. Grassy hop notes amidst some muddled metallic caramel malts and hints of bitter citrus notes.

M - Medium bodied, smooth and finishes with a touch of dryness.

O - I don't know if this was the result of a dulled palette from drinking flavourless beers on the resort, but this Mexican brew actually boasts some flavourful hop characteristics. Easy drinking and mild enough on the palette to enjoy in the intense Mexican heat. The best option in Mexico IMO.

Good beer overall I tried one in a Mexican restaurant. It goes well with those dishes and has a pretty good taste. I'm more into heavy or darker beer soo this one was just ok. I would try it again if I had the chance depending on the atmosphere I'm in

A - Clear, pale golden yellow with about a finger width white head. Active bubbles below the surface work continuously beneath the quickly dissipating head.

S - Corn / cooked grain, faint hops, malt and a spice note. The nose is light but much more pronounced that most other Mexican beers.

T - Crisp, grain sweetness and over all mild flavor due to the pale malt base. At the finish mild hops add a mild spice and bitter kick.

M - Light-bodied, but not as watery as other Mexican beers. Ample carbonation.

O - For a Mexican beer Bohemia is a very flavorful choice. Though it does not equal other beers of the Pilsner style it does shine in its environment. I travel to Mexico frequently and in the unrelenting heat of Merida, Bohemia is blessed not so bad sanctuary.

Pour: A pale clear yellow with no head a bit of lacing
Smell: Very mild, a bit sweet with slight citrus undertone
Taste: Very smooth, crisp and refreshing. A citrus undertone and finishes with a slight bitterness from the hops and a peppery spice.
My favorite Mexican beer. Pleasantly surprised and I recommend for a hot day or with a nice spicy meal.

Lovely beer. Certainly not your typical insepid, skunky, flavorless Mexican brew. Bohemia is a crisp, fresh tasting pilsner. Yes, pilsner. Nice malt and bitter hop balance. A touch of sweetness and a terrific citrusy aftertaste. This has become one of my go to beers. Excellent with food or to quench that desire for a cold brew. If you can find it locally, try it. And please, no lime.

Spending two weeks in the Yucatan, felt like I had to try this, since I've had no urge to pick it up back home.

Pours a fairly pale golden yellow, quite clear, with about a half-finger of white head, which fades quickly, and leaves little lace.

Smell is rather faint hops with a hint of peppery spice. Not remarkable, really, but not so bad.

Taste has a bit of bite to it. Pale malt base doesn't provide much flavor, but the hops add a slight spice and tingle. Turns mildly bitter in the finish.

Mouthfeel is fine - light-bodied, with ample carbonation and a slightly prickly finish.

This is like a muted pilsner - it has all the right elements, but with the volume turned down. Those elements set it apart from a lot of other Mexican beers, but it doesn't measure up so well against other versions.

Poured into a standard pint glass. The beer is a clear straw yellow with a fuzzy white head that dissipates quickly into a film. Not much lacing. Smells of straw, lemongrass. The beer tastes clean, with hints of lemongrass and corn adjuncts. The mouthfeel is carbonated but light.

Overall, this is a clean, refreshing Mexican beer. It's got a grassy sweetness to it that's very drinkable. Definitely no need to add lime.

Poured into a stange glass.

Pours a very pale golden (crystal clear) body full of large bubbles rising to the quickly disappearing white head. Good clarity, not much else to rave about.

Smells of some light pale malts and slight sulfur notes. Maybe a bit of noble hop aroma but this is scant.

Light lager taste profile, including pale malt, very light non-descript hop flavor, and a bit of crackery toasted grain aftertaste. No obvious flaws in the flavor, which is a wide margin above and beyond the typical Mexican lager.

The mouthfeel is surprisingly smooth and the carbonation isn't over the top. Well done here.

Conclusion: I like this beer, but I wouldn't try to compare it to the classic German Pilseners, as it would fall far short. As a all malt lager however it does well, and beats out almost every adjunct lager around.

I don'know if it's because I've been in Mexico for two weeks and limited to a choice between Corona, Dos Equis, or Modelo, but, this Bohemia was like Flamenco Dancers prancing about on my tongue - castanets nipping at my palate. In comparison to beer from Plzen, the Czech Republic, it is more than a respectable effort! Solid in all its attributes...a FINE pilsner! My favorite latino brew to date!

Pale golden color with some darker rings. Lacing is scant, pale white, and short lived. Nothing special.

The aroma is like seltzer water with a hint of pale grains and DMS. Faint beeriness. The flavor is similarly weak. Carbonation is prominent in the flavor, unfortunately. Body is too fizzy and also very light.

Nothing special, this does not stand out from a crowded pack. Pass.

My new favorite Mexican beer aside from Negra Modelo. Pours a cloudy straw gold color. Hops are abundant in the nose. Taste is like that of a German pilsener. Hop bitterness shows its head towards the back of the throat. The beer leaves excellent lacing on the sides of the glass. This beer is also fairly carbonated, and there is a steady stream of bubbles issuing from the bottom of the glass. This and Negra Modelo are my two favorite Mexican beers.

As the owner of a Mexican restaurant and having all the available Mexican beers, this one is my favorite.

Clean straw color. Very little head.

Smells faintly fruity, with a nice bready aroma.

Taste is sweet, thicker than it appears, but has a noticeable soft and welcomed fruitiness. Very little bitterness but enough to make this a well balanced beer.

Overall, this is the best Vienna-Style/Pilsner (whatever you want to call it) Mexico offers. Clean, refreshing, sessionable, versatile enough to match most every flavor profile on our menu, and one that actually has some complexity to it.

I had this at Guadalajara -used it to compliment a chicken enchilada platter with some habanero sauce. 12 oz brown bottle into a pint.

The color is slightly darker than golden with great clarity and visible carbonation. The head of white holds with a very small bead and relaxes leaving a spotty lace. The smell is good with slight fruitiness and gentle spice but the general aroma is malty ans slightly sweet. The feel is good with moderately high carbonation and gentle spice with mellow malty middle and crisp, semi-dry finish.

This is a pretty tasty lager with some malt sweetness and a hint of fruitines with tinges of floral notes from the hops which are pleasant. This has the kind of sweetness that reminds you of adjuncts but doesn't go too far and is nice in relation to the highly carbonated almost spicy profile. I enjoyed this thoroughly and will probably get some for times when I want a refreshing beer or something to scrub the palate when I am enjoying ribs or refried beans. I would recommend this to anyone who happens upon it at their local mexican restaurant like I did.

Pours a pale gold with 1/4" of bubbly head. Smells of faint adjuncts with notes of faint grass and straw. The taste is light malt with some grassy hops coming through; at times a little like adjuncts and some faint metal. Mouthfeel is light bodied and well carbonated.

This is surprisingly smooth and well blended. This is more than I was expecting.

Pours yellow with a nice, dense head. Good retention, too - my beer's about finished and its still hanging around. There's even some lacing!

Smells herbal and malty. As it warms, a bit of floral character comes out. No corn - for once I don't feel like I'm sitting down to a bowl of cornflakes. I mean, I like cornflakes... but this is nice.

Tastes clean, and good, though not very interesting. I like it more for what it isn't: skunky, corn-y, mineral-watery, soapy. It's crisp and the mild bitterness on the finish is just right.

The mouthfeel is good; appropriate, if a little overcarbonated.

Thus far my favorite Mexican lager... we'll see if I can find a better one.

Appearance:
Pale gold color, fairly clear. Lots of small bubbles. Small head.

Aroma:
Very crisp, grainy, a little spicy from the hops.

Taste:
Clean grainy up front along with crisp bitterness in the finish. Grainy, slight sweet, just a touch of hay. Spicy-earthy hops at the end, yet it's very crisp. Light bodied, very crisp and refreshing. Right amount of carbonation for the style.

Finish:
Spicy, yet very crisp.

Overall:
Very good for a Mexican made Pilsner.

12oz. bottle, some sort of lasered serial code on the side that I can't decipher.

Clear goldish yellow with a short-lived and fizzy head. No lacing.

The aroma is lightly hoppy, both earthy and lemony. Subtle, but nice.

The flavor is surprisingly good. Very clean and simple, with crackery grain notes and a nice hop character: mainly grassy, though with some faint citrus. The mouthfeel is thin, but the carbonation is medium and smooth.

German Pils? Yeah right! Bohemia's probably a Mexican Adjunct Lager, but a damn good one at that. Will accompany many a carnitas in my future.
