Bottle: Poured a golden color lager with a medium size white foamy head with average retention and not much lacing. Aroma consists of light sweet notes with not much else going on. Taste is also dominated by light sweet notes with limited adjunct coming through and a bland aftertaste. Body is light with good carbonation. Another bland lager.

Can of 355ml, bought at the local Oxxo, I would prefer the bottle but then I would have to buy a package of six of a beer I don't know. So, this can should do it for this review.
Light yellow colour, a bunch of bubbles and a two finger head that lingers for a while, but only because I poured it so.
Aroma is of malts (?) or corn, certainly doesn't stink that much of corn.
Nice taste, although nothing obviously traceable, it is not bitter, it is not sweet, just ..neutral.
Medium carbonation and medium thickness.
Overall, the most average beer I've drunk till now in Mexico, if you find yourself there and don't know which beer to choose, this is your safiest option.

Tasted 24 December 2011, reviewed from notes. Continuing my exploration of Mexican beers that don't make it to the US. Sure, I could drink something I know is tolerable, but I'd rather try some beers I can't get at home. Who knew that nearly all of them were made by the same brewery? Not me.

Pours a very pale golden yellow. Looks rather like watery, well, you know. Minimal white head, gone fast, leaving no lacing.

Smells like adjuncts, with a hint of malts. Corn, or rice, or something like that. Smells bland, but kinda warm and fuzzy. Very little flavor to it.

Tastes, not really like beer. Mostly corn, with a bit of sweetness. Quite weird, actually. I've had adjunct lagers before, but not ones that tasted more like the adjuncts than like beer. Finish just fades away slow. No trace of hops, a tiny hint of pale malts.

Mouthfeel is the highlight. Quite thin, but with moderate carbonation. Finish is watery. About what I'd expect.

Overall, it's just bland. Not even refreshing really, which is most of what I look for from a beer like this. Tastes like corn, looks like watery urine, and doesn't do much more for me than either.

The first beer i review at the beach, had 10 years without drinking it since CCM stopped selling in north Mexico. Look: Blond, headless and many bubbles; Smell: Mild, sweet corn, probably sweetened with malt; Taste: Corn is predominant with spicy hops at the finish, well balanced; Mouthfeel: Refreshing and crisp, slightly bitter, high carbonation and light body; Drinkability: After seeing the appearance and smell the aroma, i expected a mess, homever, both the taste and mouthfeel were average, very easy to drink, now i understand why it sells since 1896.

12 oz bottle brought back from the Mayan Riviera by my sister-in-law, thanks! Pours a very clear light gold color with a stark white foam that fades away pretty quick. Does leave a fat collar and a few specks of lace on the glass.

Nose is quite fruity for a light lager, green apples and starfruit. Honey drizzled grits served on a cardboard platter make up the grain portion of the aroma. Not a very good smelling brew.

Has a decent amount of flavor for a beer of only 3.6%, problem is the flavor is not terribly appealing. Fruitiness still there in the flavor a little bit. Grainy malty notes are actually not too bad and there even manages to be a hint of hops in the finish. Not a bad AAL, and I could put back a few of these beachside.

Pours a golden yellow color with a small amount of white head.

The scent is mostly of yeast and a hint of fruit.

This tastes mostly of yeast with some grains and corn, also some biscuity hopp.

Pretty light feel, a little watery with pretty good carbonation.

Very drinkable. This is almost as good as the Sol, it just has a little too much yeast. But this is a decent refreshing beer. I would probably buy this if it was available in my area.

By the liter bottle on the HOT, 35 C, days at the hawkwatch in Cardel, Veracruz.

A- The average gold yellow one expects from a macrolager. Thin white head, very effervesant.

S- Grainy malt / straw...not much else.

T- Light and unoffensive. Some aftertaste of corn....very "fizzy".

M- Crisp, light and fizzy....almost no body to speak of. Basically an alternative to water.

D - A beer you have to drink with a certain mindset...I am drinking this to cool myself down and "enjoy" a beer. Nothing else....simple, clean and crisp...certainly fresh tasting and better than Corona!

I had quite the session with this brew after snorkeling in Cozumel. The catamarran that took us out to the reef offered free beers and margaritas after the snorkeling tour, and the ride back to the cruise ship was about an hour, so although that's not much time....they were free, so I super-sessioned after spending some time contemplation the first one. After repeated free-dives down thirty feet to the bottom crevices of the reef, I had a touch of the bends and I had to go back to my stateroom on the ship after dinner...the combination of eye/ear pain and massive buzz was just too much. I got some good pictures of the rays and groupers though!

A - Golden yellow and clear with a small cap of white fizz. No real head or lace, just a wispy haze on top of the brew.

S - Vibrant fruit and estery lager yeast. Suprizingly assertive for the style, but it's still a relitively thin nose.

T - Lightly fruity with some maple syrup sweetness (cane sugar syrup?). A biscuity and well built malt backbone makes this a well balanced and tasty brew.

M - Thicker than most macros, but still on the light side overall. Moderate carbonation, firm mouthfeel, and quite a bit more structure than others of it's kind.

D - Excellent. This is probably my favorite non-vienna style Mexi-lager. Head and shoulders above Corona, Sol, Dos Equis, ect.

Brought back a bottle of this from or trip to Playa del Carmen. This was stocked daily in our room so I was able to enjoy many of these on my balcony after a long day of diving.

A-Typical Mexican lager gold with very thin head and effervecent body.

S-Very doughy with aromas similar to cream ales. No hops detected.

T-The taste is also very doughy with a corn finish.

M-A small hop sharpness comes through just enough to leave the throat and tongue dry.

D-At home this is not even close to tasting as good as it did in Mexico, but it is just another beer that pretty much anyone can drink. Thankfully they had Dos Equis Amber as well.

This was a clear yellow color with little to no head. No real aroma, maybe a hint of some graininess. A vaguely sweet taste. I don't think there's too much to say about this beer other than it is quite refreshing on really hot days (but then, so is water).

It's been decades, really, maybe 25 years, since I last had a Superior. Actually it was still from Cervecería Moctezuma, way before Cuauhtémoc bought it off.

Pours a light pale yellow, with a short living head and some tiny lacing.

Smell is discrete, with some graininess. Quite average for an American lager.

Taste isn't really bad, at least for what this beer is. Good balance between malts and the little hops it has. Refreshing, actually.

Mouthfeel surprised me, with it's mild bitter finish somehow. Light body though, not exactly watery.

Drinkability in my hot and long Summers is high, and I'll have it again.

¡Salud!

I try this in a "caguama", very cheap and good for the mass beverage.

Excelent smell and taste, even with its corn presence;

Try with asadero cheese, and totopos, ( mexican nachos),

serve in a little jar previously cold, good lacing, good price and at last i got this after years of not try.

78% recommended.
