Slow-Fermented Brown Ale is a beautiful chestnut brown colored beer. It is fermented at an unusually cool temperature which slows down the fermentation. These conditions stress the yeast, resulting in a slow methodical fermentation in which the resultant flavors are clean, somewhat like a lager, with the added characteristic of a creamy smooth mouthfeel. This brown ale has a rich roast caramel flavor, with a subtle sweetness in the finish, delicately balanced with hop undertones.

This was poured into a mug. The appearance was a semi-dark hazy burnt brown color with a slim less than a finger’s worth of off-white head that just glazed the top of the mug. Nice semi-thick to thin foamy lacing glossed along the sides of the glass. The smell starts off with some rich sweet nutty / somewhat walnut-like to toffee and caramel rich fragances. The taste replicates the smell mostly. Definitely has a dry nutty aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation feels good. Overall, as an English Brown ale, I really don’t see much wrong with this. I’d have again.

Look: Nice golden brown with a thick rich sticky head. Yeast floating throughout which is interesting.
Smell: Malts, molasses, brown sugar. Nice subtle sweet smell.
Taste: Malty on the front, slight sweetness, smooth ending with no bitterness. Crisp too. Nice brown ale.
Feel: Smooth feel.
Overall: Exceeded expectations. This one got rather low ratings but I found it to be really nice. Best brown ale I think I've had yet. 8/10.

Pours a nice frothy bubbly 1+ finger head that fades at a slower pace, nice lacing, hazy slight sediment laden chestnut brown color.
Nose sweet toasted brown malts, plenty of caramel and some toffee, brown sugar, a big toasty biscuity, up front very toasted but not burnt dark malt aroma, light grassy hop in the background.
Taste brings a soft lager like thing, toasted brown malts, toasted biscuity, creamy caramel, some sweet brown sugar and a little toffee, chewy almost nougat, mild grassy herbal bitter hop, soft creamy brown malt, finish drier little sticky, lingering brown sugar caramel notes.
Mouth is med soft bod, almost creamy but more soft and chewy, decent carb.
Overall pretty nice, great brown malt flavors, toasted, caramel, brown sugar, etc, with great soft lager like feel from the slow fermenting, but still a little boring like it lacks the extra thing that makes it great.

I'm a lover of brown ales from having in Germany. This is a smooth, rich and full ale with the brown sweetness that makes it an excellent beer with anything. The smell of the hops within make a smooth drink and a great aftertaste.
