Poured 12 oz. bottle into my Dogfish Head pint glass.

A: Creamy 2 1/2-finger head with consistent and thick lacing. Nice light copper color, too.

S: Plenty of cinnamon, buttered popcorn, apples, and pumpkin pie.

T: Butter and cream at first, quickly followed by a pumpkin pie sweetness. Smooth apple and cinnamon finishes and lingers.

M: Creamy with little carbonation. Nice cleansing finish.

O: Hands down, the best pumpkin ale I've had.

Bottle: Poured an orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of cinnamon and cloves is quite strong with light pumpkin notes. Taste is also a nice mix between some strong notes of cinnamon and cloves with light pumpkin and some semi-sweet caramelized malt. Body is average with good carbonation. Well brewed with just about right amount of spices.

A: Light red amber color, big silky head which sticks nicely to the glass.

S: Cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg - pumpkin pie spices. Very strong, almost artificially strong smell.

T: Very nice spices which stick to the back of the throat very nicely. The taste, however, is more muted than the smell - and thus more believable. Very nice and refreshing flavor.

M: Good carbonation, but not lasting or overly airy. Fairly well balanced.

O: One of the better pumpkin ales I've had. Usually the pumpkin flavors tend to taste muted and watered down, but here they hold true to the claim. I think it suffers only in that some of the spices seem artificial, but I think to get enough of it to truly permeate the brew, this was probably a necessary compromise. Now here's hoping I can still get this in January when I'm craving October even more than I am now.

Standard appearance. Not too great lacing, sticky body. Clear body, Amber. Good carbonation.

Tribute to cinnamon, light gourd nature. Muddied pumpkin. Just simple and generic.

Squashy, pumpkin, nutmeg, finish of dry cinnamon and a cardboardy malty cellulosic papery... Ugh.

Watery, mild bodied. Sticky flavors. Mild but appropriate carbonation. Just... Average.
