undated 12 oz bottle from Trader Joes served in a pint glass.
Pours a deep orange-amber with a fizzy bone head. The head dies to some thin islands with remarkable speed, and leaves no significant lacing.
The aroma is rather faint, with little more than toasted malts. Alcohol esters appea after some warming. The flavor is stronger and adds a touch of spicy hops to the solid, if too near to minimal, malt base. Very good bitter/sweet balance.
M: medium body; slightly dry even before the semi-dry finish; very good carbonation.
O: a good, if rather simple, amber ale. This ber does have more than a little flacor, and is a good value at the low Trader Joes price.

Appearance: This is a nice looking beer, similar to perhaps a Red Trolley. Very minimal, tan head with bubbles rising to the top. The color is a soft auburn, leaning closer to brown than red. Very pretty color indeed.
Smell: The smell is fairly strong. It gives off a strong hoppy, herbal note on the nose. It gives off the impression of bitterness, which tickles the palate upon smelling.
Taste: The taste is hoppier than I thought it would be, though the hops were prominent on the nose. The aftertaste lingers on the bitter backend of the palate. Coppery undertones and limited malt. This beer is very one-note and tastes rather grassy in the longterm aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: It is a bit undercarbonated, but I prefer that in a lackluster beer. In this case, the ubdercarbonation helps rather than hinders. It seems to have just the right viscosity for my taste: slippery beneath the bubbles.
Overall: A six-pack of this stuff is six bucks here in California, so I can't complain. I think Head Snapper is better and it is only about fifty cents more. This is fine for a cheap beer, but I'd rather bone up and get something a bit more expensive. Not the best budget beer I've had.

Jumping Cow Amber Ale is a wonderful looking, super clear, deep amber ale that has light, frothy, sand colored lacing. The aroma is mostly of dark malt extract and caramel. There's a hint of grassiness. It's medium-light bodied, gritty and metallic. It leaves the mouth and teeth feeling pretty dirty. This seems to be a focus on caramel malt and that's the main flavor here. It's countered with a wooden, resiny sort of bitterness. It picks up some black pepper, juniper and sweetness after the swallow. It's a loud flavor. This kind of seems like a home brew. It seems a little rough to me. There's something unpleasant about the bitterness. Is it soapiness? This tastes twice as strong as it is.

"Brewed by River Trent Brewing Company, Ukiah CA." 5.4% ABV acording to my bottle. 12 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard gold colour pressure cap served into a conical Samuel Smith's pint glass in me gaff in low altitude Los Feliz, Los Angeles, California. Reviewed live. Expectations are average. Acquired at Trader Joe's.
Served cold, straight from the fridge. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.
A: Pours a three finger beige/light khaki colour head of nice cream and thickness, and generally good (~4 minute) retention though the ABV is merely average. Body colour is a clear translucent amber. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show. Typical of the style; there's nothing unique or special here.
Sm: Caramel, amber malts, floral hops, and some grassy character. A moderate strength aroma. No yeast character or alcohol is detectable.
T: Caramel, amber malts, floral hops, and a bit of grassy character. All things considered, it's just plain mundane. Not particularly balanced. Decently built. No yeast character or alcohol comes through. I like it in a general sense, but there's just nothing unique or special about it.
Mf: Smooth and wet. Adequate carbonation. Good thickness. Decent body and presence on the palate. Suits the flavour generally well.
Dr: A drinkable amber that isn't particularly great. It's decent and passable, but meh. I wouldn't get it again, even at its solid price point. Mediocre but likable. Honestly, there's no reason not to get it so long as your expectations are in check.

A: Pours a very lightly hazy medium amber in color with some light to moderate amounts of visible carbonation along with some ruby red highlights. The beer has a half finger tall sudsy light beige head that quickly reduces to a couple of medium sized patches of very thin film along with a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of caramel malts with a touch of sweet grain and lighter amounts of earthy hops.
T: Overall the taste is rather light with light amounts of caramel malts with very little sweetness and very light amounts of earthy hops. Very little bitterness to this beer and it fades almost instantly.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: Overall the beer is well balanced and fairly easy to drink though nothing really stands out about it. I would have this if it was offered in the cooler at a party but would not likely purchase this one again for consumption at home.

Pours a dark brown not amber at all with a small white head which quickly dies.
The smell is sweet grains.
The taste is very light, slightly sweet which some very faint hops.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation.
A step up from bmc but not by that much. Cheap beer, tastes cheap.

12oz bottle served in a standard pint glass.
L - hazed orange/amber color with a off-white head that left artistic lacing.
S - toasted malt and earthy hops.
T - fairly well balanced beer with muted malts and hardly there hops.
F - lighter bodied with a thin but easy drinking feel.
O - average beer.

Another TJ's bargain buy (ticker gotta tick yo). Poured into 16oz nonic. Poured a lightly hazy lite brown color with less than 1/4 inch of khaki head that had very light retention and lacing.
The aroma was blandly typical, some lightly sweet malts and just a trace of tangy hops. The flavors were, surprisingly enough, similar. The malts were lightly sweet and nicely smooth, and the hops gave just enough kick to provide balance.
The body was average, medium and smooth, with a nice, surprisingly dry finish. Drinkability was good, the beer went down smooth and easy. Overall, for what this is, it's a decent enough brew. If you want an inexpensive sixer for a cookout or party, this would be an OK choice.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint. Pours a medium dark red amber with a slight off-white head with some slippery lacing. Light aroma of toasted and caramel malt with a faint vegetable component. Flavor is light toasted malt that fades very quickly, leaving a light biscuit malt and neutral hop finish. Body is surprisingly medium with a hint of creaminess. A bit better than I expected from a Trader Joe's contract brew. Flavors are light, pleasant, but too attenuated and abrupt to be interesting. Not bad for an inexpensive amber. This bottle lists River Trent Brewing, Ukiah, CA as the contract brewer.
