This is one of my main sources for beer. Like all of the Total Wine stores in Charlotte, they have a fairly large selection of singles here. Lots of imports and harder to find ones, many I had never heard of. A few are covered with dust making me think they have been sitting there for a long time which could have freshness issues, but the ones I have got didn't have any problems like that. They also have a fairly large selection of 4/6 packs of craft beers and some imports. And of course they have the more common stuff like Budweiser and Miller for those who are into that kind of stuff. Overall they have a very nice beer selection for a store that specializes in wine. Prices are decent too, some quite cheap. A good place to go in the Southeast Charlotte/Matthews area.

Located in a strip mall on Independence Blvd.
This location seems to be a little bit bigger than the one I usually shop at (Myers Park). Very much like the other locations well laid out with a nice selection of craft beers, you won't find much in the way of hard to find or rare beers, but for readily available stuff it's a decent place. I like the fact that you are able to build a mixed six pack. The service is not great unless you are shopping for wine, but I usually don't need assistance anyway.
I think I still prefer the Myers Park location, but if I'm on this side of town it's worth a stop in.

This is my go-to place for beer! I frequently visit the store in Matthews, NC and I'm never disappointed. They have an awesome selection of beer at a reasonable price. I've never seen so many six-packs and individual bottles of beer in a single store. They keep a nice variety of bottles in their fridge cold and ready to drink and have plenty more on the shelves. I like being able to stop in and build my own six-pack. They do a great job at rotating the seasonal brews in and out as well. Always something new and interesting to try, these guys and gals aren't afraid to go out on a limb and put some unique brews out for their customers. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful as well. I've even asked staff about particular brews that I wasn't able to find in the store and within a week they've been on the shelf, and they continue to stock them! I definitely recommend visiting this one! Enjoy!

This is a great TW for beer selection. I liked it better then the south park store. The store is older and not as updated as some other TW's but the have a pretty good selection. A little light on the bomber selection but it seems that's common in Charlotte for what I'm used in FL. As always their service is top notch lost of people willing to help and everyhting is nice nest and organized. The store is really big for a wine and beer only store. Looks small on the outside but the length of the store seems o go on forever.

Wine, wine, and more wine!!! I've shopped here for awhile, but always for wine, then I got turned onto craft brew. They have a great selection of beer too! And the staff is very helpful, I asked a question of one person, and they didn't know the answer, so they found someone who did. Turned out one of his friends used to work at Cottonwood brewery, so he had my answers. It's a huge store, with a great selection, and clean. If your throwing a get together, they even have chips, and glasses. Everything you need. And the prices a reasonable. Not as cheap as Common Market or Brawleys, but not as expensive as world market. If your in the area, go!

A freakin huge place off of Independence Blvd. in Matthews, NC (a rocks throw from Charlotte). The sell Wine and beer only, and have pretty much everything that NC can legally sell. Two full aisles devoted to fine brews....I'm licking my chops every time I go in! Extensive Rogue selection, Sam Smith, Paulaner, Weihenstephaner, and much more. If only NC laws weren't so ridiculous.....oh well, I want get started on that. This is the best place to by beer in the Charlotte area that I'm aware of.
