I just stopped in recently when I was visiting my sister in Jacksonville. This place had some pretty good ratings here on BA, so I thought I should check it out.
They had some really high quality brews. There was a lot of stuff that I was able to pick up here that isn't available in Texas. I was able to pick up some GD Hades, Butte Creek DIPA 06, Ommegeddon, Gulden Drake, Mojo IPA, Hazed and Infused, several Fantomes, Roddenbach original and Grand Cru, DFH WWS, and several Jolly Pumpkins.
The selection was pretty good - it was the best and widest selection of all the stores in Florida that I have been to. It was much better than Total Wine. Plenty of Belgians and American micros.
The service at Broudy's was really good. All of the people who worked there were really friendly and one guy even helped carry one of the boxes of beer out to my car.
This place, overall, was really great. I was really happy that I stopped by, and I would definitely go there again if I ever find myself in Jacksonville.

They've done a lot with the beer selection over the past year and its much improved. Staff is pretty knowledgable and they're good about getting all the limited release stuff. If you haven't been in a while I would recommend checking them out again.

When in the Ponte Vedra/Jax Beach area, this really all there is.
Been here numerous times over the last couple visits I have been down in this area, thought it was time I review it.
Atmosphere: It's a liquor store with a small beer selection. For those of you that are familiar with Green's in ATL area, it's just like that only the store is smaller and so is the beer selection.
Quality: Most important think when shopping here, CHECK YOUR DATES! Recently they have had SN 12 packs on sale for 12.99 and after checking the date, realized that they are over a year old! Seems like the distributor/retailers are trying to pull a fast one, I saw the same deal at a convenient store in Jax Beach, same deal, year old Pale)
Anway, other than that a handful of sixers fit in the cooler, a couple of small shelves (unrefrigerated) house Belgians, New Arrivals, and randoms for mixing a six. Check the dates if you can (Cigar City is always fresher at the Publix in the same shopping center and as such, I buy my Jai Alai from them).
Service: people at the checkout are friendly enough, but that's about it. Never bothered asking any questions since the first time I was there...nobody really knows or cares much about beer. However, someone must considering they do bother to have the "new arrival shelf".
Selection: Quite limited, even in the Florida beer selection. But this time, they did have all 3 beers that Intuition Aleworks now offers in cans, so I picked up a sixer of each to try them. No dates, but they were decent enough, so I would assume they were somewhat fresh.
Value: prices are standard for the area, which is high compared to what I am used to on the West Coast (10-12 dollar sixers seem to be the norm here).
All in all, the only real option in the area, check your dates and hope for the best...

Atmosphere: looks like more of a wine and a liqour store in a gas station.
Quality: nothing spectacular here.
Service: Asked a question about a Cigar City Beer and the lady told me "to look for it". Even after i looked through the entire beer selection. Staff was flat out rude. No impressed at all.
Value: Same pricing across the board as the 3 other beer places visited.
Overall: Not impressed with service or attitude of employees or beer selection its pretty small... Avoid this place!

A medium size store that has mos of it space devoted to wines and other products rather than beer. Product selection is very limited compared to Total Wine. Still, it has quite a few interesting and uncommon selections and, given the paltry alternatives in Jacksonville, this store may be worth the trip.
Quality downgraded because some of the offerings, particularly those not on refrigeration, appeared dated. Some inventory control was definitely in place, however, since quite a few varieties were on a reduced price shelf.
Management is fine with purchasing singles. There appears to be about a 25% upcharge to do so, versus a s-pack, but buying 6 or more earns a 10% per bottle discount. 6-pack sleeves available upon request.
Strengths of selection were [1] a good variety of 4- and 6-packs under refrigeration and [2] a nice selection of limited production or hard to find singles including beers from Rogue, Terrapin, Cigar City, Lagunitas, Weyerbacher and others.

I been burning gas driving everywhere this labor day weekend.
Anyway I been to this store many times, as we like to visit the book store near here. Used to as recent as 1.5 years ago this place had Belgians you could not get anywhere and lots of other rare/hard to find stuff. I just went the other day and its just a plain old liquor store again with a few craft beer selections, its not much than a typical ABC now, really sad to see. I never the manager, but I called asking about beer many times in the last few years and its hopeless, go the the Orange park store this one sucks now, unless you live close by. Many beers were also past the dates. so sad.
this review is after like 20 visits over 8-10 years, not sure how long I been going here off and on.

I visit Ponte Vedra Beach every year for the golf tournament. I eat out every night, but I always like to have a selection of beer in the fridge for when I get back to the condo.
I found Broudy's this year and look forward to going back next year. It's a small place, and they sell wine and spirits in addition to beer. They don't carry as much beer as some other places, focusing more on the other stuff, but they had a nice selection.
In addition to full cases and sixers, I was able to build my own six-pack which was nice.
Edited: I went back to Broudy's on my golf trip this year. About a month before I arrived, I contacted the manager and asked if I could place an order (I was going to be there 8 nights and I wanted 8 bombers).
The manager (Mike) was perfectly ok with gathering my wish list, even though it meant transferring a couple bottles from one store to another and actually placing an order for something. In the event something didn't arrive, he suggested a couple other things I might be interested in.
When I arrived, all 8 of my original choices were there, as well as the 2 bottles for just in case. That kind of service isn't available just anywhere.

Nice shop near the beach. Limited beer space but lots of nice bottles, nothing amazing that cannot be found elsewhere. I did find yorkshire stingo here, which was cool.
Got a bitter taste in my mouth when I went back to buy out the stingo ( I love this beer). I asked if they had any more in the back and the guy working there said he would check. I was willing to spend $100+ dollars and let him know I would take as much as they would sell me. He never did check though and I find its hard to get attention or ask questions in this store.
Clean store with fair prices. I will keep shopping at grassroots and only go back to broudy's if I hear they have something I want
*** Update: Mike, the new manager has contacted me and given a reasonable explanation. I will visit again soon and re-review off of that visit. If the store as a whole embraces the caring attitude he gave me in his email, I will become a regular shopper.

updating the post... This place has gone downhill since the long store manager left. I've stop going, but it still has some decent selections.
This store in tucked away near Target in Jax beach.
What a great beer store and it's always a pleasure to walk into a beer store and the staff be so knowledgeable. Carolyn, the owner, really knows her stuff and is very involved in improving the Jax beer scence. The selection is top notch for a city that doesn't have alot compared to others. If I were an out of towner I would definitly stop here. Ask for Carolyn and she'll probaly show syou around and have some good recommedations. The prices are normal... Nothing outrageous.

I visit Broudy's regulary for their unique beer selection. They are THE best beer selection I have seen to date in Jacksonville, and the best for sure in Jacksonville Beach.
They have a huge cooler, so you can get a wide variety of beers already cold. They also allow you to purchase singles directly from the cooler, which is a nice bonus! Some of the more rare beers are located in the center of the store, these are stored room temp away from any windows.
The manager "Carolyn" is a legendary beer queen who is passionate about her store, beer advocacy, and the local beer community. She is great resource when it comes to local beer events, tastings and pairings. The staff in general is usually very helpful, but Carolyn is the #1 resource for all things beer!
They also hold tastings and special promo events on a semi regular basis. They keep up with new releases and usually have new brews and or seasonals. Just ask if you are curious.
The prices are usually reasonable considering you do not have other options with this wide selction. Liquor and wine can be a bit more expensive than ABC/etc, but the beer selection is the standout feature, so it's worth it as a one stop shop.
I have found numerous of rare finds at Broudys that I have never see anywhere else in Jax. Keep up the great work Broudys - cause if you do we don't need anymore beer stores in JB!
Go team Hot Shots!
