Loving this brewer.

A) Poured ruby brown, black into a snifter glass, w tan colored head. Not much lace or last.
S) Lots of roast, barrel char, oaky notes in nose, bitter chocolate, powdery, nicely balanced.
T) Follows smell, rather than too sweet, offers a chalky, powdery cocoa feel. A rush of dark chocolate, espresso with lemon zest, and sweet mid range into a peppery finish. Nice see saw.
F) Finishes oily with lasting char, charcoal finish. Low carb, nice weight.
O) Lovely would enjoy any time and their bourbon barrel is probably better.

Poured from a 32 ounce growler can 8 days young. Looks dark with a fairly aggressive pour. Dissipated to an eighth inch head with good lacing. It smells great! Better than most. My first impression is that it is heavy on the roasted malts but some sweetness punches though. The mouthfeel is a little thin for me. It tastes good but my issue is with the mouth retention. It almost burns. Very odd. It is like someone was heavy handed on the espresso or smoke. If it were ribs I would be calling them technically correct but over smoked. Either way I am enjoying it.

Here comes another imperial stout that is black in color. I feel like there is almost nothing more to say about the look of stouts, they're black, they have a tan head, there's good retention, 3/4" deep. Aroma is almost exclusively of roasty-ness.

Taste, more roast, well hopped, bitter, biting, sturdy, thick, but not overly viscous or syrupy. Chocolate malt notes for sure. Mouth feel provides plenty of malt body to envelope the alcohol and cover it up nicely. Another one of those bomber format beers that doesn't need to be. Definitely has some of that earthiness going for it that helps when hiding big abv beers.

Pours a nearly black color with hints of ruby. A billowing moderate foam head dissapates into a sudsy film that retains well and leaves lacing.
In the nose there is a warm and inviting aroma of cocoa and roasted malts.
Big bodied yet smooth and easy to drink. It kind of feels like a porter in this respect. There are lots of roasted, even slightly charred malt flavors, even a bit smoky. There is a slight coating of chocolate, cocoa and creamy sweetness. There is also a modest hops and espresso bitterness. Good balance overall. It should also be noted that the alcohol is really well masked and hard to detect. Careful with this one because it drinks really well for the high ABV. Solid and tasty overall.

Great presence. Bold, dark, mean, but comes up a tad short. Great roasty and sweet aroma and flavor, but dry and a bit bubbly. A great value for a good imperial stout. Cheers!

Poured from the bottle into a snifter glass. Etching date code or note says 297 M 2028 2014 on bottom.

Light mocha to tan colored head, even slightly orange but dissolves fairly quickly at it's simple one finger height maximum. Settles to a bubbly collar and slightly whispy top. Some decent clarity to this with red highlights when held to the light and a classic walnut brown body.

Real solid mix of subtle roast qualities for the aroma. Mild roast char notes, even a take of fruity quality that seems to be from the yeast. Deep bitter cocoa as well. The aromas though are small but also balanced between each other nicely, not one really dominated but all compliment real nicely on the nose.

First sip is a classic rush of dark chocolate, followed by a real good fruity sweetness. Mid palate has a very nice honey coating, but also real tight carbonation in the mouthfeel that gives off a peppery tingle on the tongue. Finishes oily slightly with some almost citrus hop zest but with classic lingering char qualities, a real excellent ashy to small hardwood charcoal finish that does linger nicely. Lighter body, almost simple porter in character, but has excellent full coating in the palate and pushing roast char accents.

Sometimes a solid real enjoyable stout without the barrel is all you need.
